Abstract

A semantic memory controller ("Semantic RAM") enables submission of accelerator workloads using ordinary memory store instructions into a memory- mapped query aperture that includes a trigger sub-region. The controller normalizes write combining and burst ambiguity and tracks payload completeness independent of arrival order to tolerate interconnect reordering. A speculation-safe eligibility gate prevents physical actuation until a trigger write satisfies a transaction acceptance / commit condition and payload completeness is satisfied. Side-channel equalization reduces distinguishability among pending and executing states. Circular streaming with overwrite prevention enables unbounded logical streams through finite buffers. Multi-tenant context virtualization with vitality leases and secure reclamation prevents cross-tenant interference and data remanence. The architecture is particularly suited for long- context inference and retrieval-augmented generation workflows where time-to- first-output is sensitive to control-plane overhead. In some embodiments, the device supports atomic hot-swap of active / shadow databases and interrupt-free subscription wakeup via cache-coherent result notification.
