AI Technical Summary
In the existing technology, the heat exchangers in the engine compartment of a car are arranged arbitrarily, which causes the rear heat exchangers to fail to exchange heat properly, affecting the normal use of the vehicle.
Design a heat exchanger assembly including a first heat exchanger, a second heat exchanger, and a third heat exchanger, which are stacked in order of increasing fluid heat load. The airflow direction is controlled by an on/off ventilation channel and a sensor to adjust the heat exchange capacity of each heat exchanger.
This achieves balanced heat exchange among the heat exchangers, ensuring normal temperature regulation of all vehicle components, improving heat exchange efficiency and the normal operation of the vehicle.

Abstract
Description
Heat exchanger assembly and vehicle
[0001] The present disclosure claims priority to the Chinese patent application No. 202411068935.3, filed on August 6, 2024, and entitled "Heat exchanger assembly and vehicle", the entire content of which is incorporated herein by reference. TECHNICAL FIELD
[0002] The present disclosure relates to the field of automobiles, and in particular, to a heat exchanger assembly and a vehicle. BACKGROUND
[0003] With the development of electric vehicles, more and more consumers choose to purchase electric vehicles as a daily transportation tool. In order to keep the electric vehicle working normally, the temperature of each part of the vehicle needs to be adjusted, such as the engine of the vehicle, the vehicle cabin, and the vehicle generator, etc.
[0004] Generally, the way to exchange heat for each part is to arrange multiple heat exchangers in the engine compartment of the vehicle, and to exchange heat for each heat exchanger by the air entering the engine compartment, and then to adjust the temperature of one or more parts through each heat exchanger.
[0005] In general vehicles, the heat exchangers are arranged in the engine compartment in a relatively arbitrary order along the air inlet direction, and the heat exchange of each heat exchanger is not balanced, and even the heat exchanger arranged at the rear along the air inlet direction may not be able to exchange heat normally (the temperature of the air entering the heat exchanger is too high, and the temperature of the liquid in the heat exchanger is relatively low, which causes the liquid to be unable to be cooled normally), which will affect the normal use of the vehicle. [0039] In normal use, the first heat exchanger is used for air conditioning and battery heat exchange, and the fluid heat load in the first heat exchanger is small, i.e., the fluid carries a small amount of heat; the second heat exchanger is used for motor assembly and intercooling system heat exchange, and the fluid heat load in the second heat exchanger is large, i.e., the fluid carries a large amount of heat; and the third heat exchanger is used for engine coolant heat exchange, and the fluid heat load in the third heat exchanger is the largest, i.e., the fluid carries the largest amount of heat. The order of arrangement of the heat exchangers according to the air inlet direction is the first heat exchanger, the second heat exchanger, and the third heat exchanger, i.e., the order is sorted according to the heat carried by the fluid in the heat exchanger from low to high. The air flowing through the first heat exchanger has a small change in heat compared with the air flowing through the second heat exchanger or the third heat exchanger, and the air still has a low temperature after flowing through the previous heat exchanger and then flowing through the subsequent heat exchanger, and can still effectively cool the heat exchanger. Thus, the heat exchange of the heat exchangers in the heat exchanger assembly is balanced, the normal heat exchange of the heat exchangers is ensured, and the normal use of the vehicle is ensured.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0054] In order to make the purposes, technical solutions and advantages of the present disclosure clearer, the following further describes the embodiments of the present disclosure in detail with reference to the drawings.

[0056] Generally, a plurality of heat exchangers can be arranged in the engine compartment of the vehicle, each heat exchanger being used to cool one or more components on the vehicle. The specific cooling step is to take away the heat of the liquid in the heat exchanger by the wind entering the front air grille of the vehicle, so as to achieve the purpose of cooling the liquid in the heat exchanger, and then the cooled liquid flows to the inside or surface of each component, thereby taking away the heat of each component to achieve the purpose of cooling each component. The arrangement of heat exchangers in the engine compartment will cause the overall heat exchange efficiency of the heat exchanger to be low, which will affect the normal use of the automobile.
[0057] The heat exchanger assembly provided by the embodiments of the present disclosure includes three heat exchangers, and the three heat exchangers are arranged in a certain order. The heat exchange of the three heat exchangers can achieve the purpose of cooling each component of the automobile. In addition, the flow direction of the wind can be adjusted through the on-off ventilation channel, thereby adjusting the heat exchange intensity of different heat exchangers. The heat exchanger assembly provided by the embodiments of the present disclosure can be installed on a range extended vehicle. The range extended vehicle has an engine and an electric motor, which is different from the traditional internal combustion engine vehicle. The engine in the range extended vehicle is used to provide power for the electric motor. When the battery cannot output power, the engine can drive the generator to generate electricity, thereby driving the automobile.
[0058] The following describes each part of the heat exchanger assembly:
[0059] I. First heat exchanger 1
[0060] The first heat exchanger 1 is a component for transferring heat between two or more fluids at different temperatures, and can transfer heat from a fluid at a higher temperature to a fluid at a lower temperature. The first heat exchanger 1 can be a condenser, and the condenser has a refrigerant circuit. Air passing through the condenser can take away heat from the refrigerant, thereby reducing the heat of the refrigerant. The refrigerant in the condenser flows through an air conditioning system and a battery, and is used to provide cool air in a vehicle cabin and to cool the battery of an electric vehicle. When the first heat exchanger 1 is a condenser, the condenser can control the heat of the refrigerant by compressing the refrigerant.
[0061] II. Second heat exchanger 2
[0062] The second heat exchanger 2 is a component for transferring heat between two or more fluids at different temperatures, and can transfer heat from a fluid at a higher temperature to a fluid at a lower temperature. The second heat exchanger 2 can be a low-temperature heat exchanger, and the low-temperature heat exchanger has a water circuit. Air passing through the low-temperature heat exchanger can take away heat from the water, thereby reducing the heat of the water.
[0063] The liquid in the low-temperature heat exchanger can flow through various motor components, including a generator and a control unit of the generator, and a drive motor and a control unit of the drive motor, to reduce the temperature of the generator and the control unit of the generator, and the drive motor and the control unit of the drive motor. In addition, the liquid in the low-temperature heat exchanger can also flow through an intercooler to cool the intercooler. The intercooler is a component of a turbocharged vehicle, and its function is to reduce the temperature of compressed air and improve the efficiency of engine air exchange. The liquid in the low-temperature heat exchanger can flow through various components as shown in FIG. 1, and can flow through the intercooler, the generator and the control unit of the generator, and the drive motor and the control unit of the drive motor. The liquid circuit can flow through the intercooler, the generator and the control unit of the generator, and the drive motor and the control unit of the drive motor as shown in FIG. 2. The skilled person can set the structure of the actual vehicle and the cooling requirements of the various components, and the embodiments of the present disclosure do not limit this.
[0064] III. Third heat exchanger 3
[0065] The third heat exchanger 3 is a component for transferring heat between two or more fluids at different temperatures, and can transfer heat from a fluid at a higher temperature to a fluid at a lower temperature. The fluid used to cool the engine can be referred to as cooling liquid. The third heat exchanger 3 can be a high-temperature heat exchanger, and the high-temperature heat exchanger has a liquid circuit. Air passing through the high-temperature heat exchanger can take away heat from the liquid, thereby reducing the heat of the liquid. The liquid in the high-temperature heat exchanger can be cooling liquid, and the cooled cooling liquid flows through the engine to cool the engine. Alternatively, the liquid in the third heat exchanger is not cooling liquid, for example, water, and the water circuit and the cooling liquid circuit exchange heat at a certain location on the vehicle, and then the cooling liquid is cooled, and the cooled cooling liquid flows through the engine to cool the engine.
[0066] The functions of the first heat exchanger, the second heat exchanger, and the third heat exchanger described above are an example of the embodiments of the present disclosure, and different heat exchange components can be provided for the heat exchangers, which will not be described in detail in the embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0067] The arrangement of the three heat exchangers will be described below. As shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, FIG. 3 is a side view of the vehicle, and FIG. 4 is a top view of the vehicle. The first heat exchanger 1, the second heat exchanger 2, and the third heat exchanger 3 are located in the engine compartment of the vehicle, and are arranged in the order of the first heat exchanger 1, the second heat exchanger 2, and the third heat exchanger 3 along the air inlet direction of the engine compartment (which can be referred to as the first direction), and are connected to the engine compartment. The dimensions of the first heat exchanger 1, the second heat exchanger 2, and the third heat exchanger 3 in the plane perpendicular to the first direction are adapted to the engine compartment.
[0068] The heat exchange of each heat exchanger is achieved by air blowing from the air inlet grille to take away the heat of the fluid in the heat exchanger, thereby reducing the heat of the fluid in the heat exchanger. The order of arrangement of each heat exchanger along the air inlet direction is the first heat exchanger 1, the second heat exchanger 2, and the third heat exchanger 3. Generally, the fluid in the first heat exchanger 1 has a small heat load, i.e., the fluid carries a low amount of heat, the fluid in the second heat exchanger 2 has a large heat load, i.e., the fluid carries a high amount of heat, and the fluid in the third heat exchanger 3 has the largest heat load, i.e., the fluid carries the highest amount of heat. In this way, along the air inlet direction, the amount of heat carried by the fluid in the heat exchanger is ordered from low to high, and after the air flows through the first heat exchanger, the change in the amount of heat of the air is smaller compared to the air flowing through the second heat exchanger or the third heat exchanger, thereby achieving the technical purpose of better heat exchange of the three heat exchangers.
[0069] Some optional structural features of the heat exchanger assembly will be described below:
[0070] Structural feature one, the heat exchanger assembly further comprises a first switch-type ventilation channel 4, a pressure sensor 5, and a controller 6.
[0071] As shown in FIG. 5, the first switchable ventilation passage 4 is arranged along a second direction with the first heat exchanger 1, the second direction is perpendicular to the first direction, the first switchable ventilation passage 4 is connected with the first heat exchanger 1 and the engine compartment respectively, and the ventilation direction of the first switchable ventilation passage 4 is the first direction. The first switchable ventilation passage 4 can be opposite to the air inlet grille of the engine compartment. The size of the first switchable ventilation passage 4 and the first heat exchanger 1 in the plane perpendicular to the first direction is matched with the engine compartment.
[0072] When the first switchable ventilation passage 4 is closed, the air blown by the air inlet grille flows through the first heat exchanger 1 entirely, thereby increasing the air volume of the first heat exchanger 1 and better heat exchanging the fluid in the first heat exchanger 1; when the first switchable ventilation passage 4 is opened, the air volume flowing through the second heat exchanger 2 and the third heat exchanger 3 is increased relative to the first switchable ventilation passage 4 being closed, thereby better heat exchanging the fluid in the second heat exchanger 2 and the third heat exchanger 3. Therefore, the first switchable ventilation passage 4 can balance the air volume based on the heat exchanging demand of the first heat exchanger 1, thereby better meeting the heat exchanging demand of the whole heat exchanger assembly.
[0073] The mechanism of the first switchable ventilation passage 4 being opened or closed will be described in detail below. As shown in FIG. 6, the heat exchanger assembly further comprises a pressure sensor 5 and a controller 6.
[0074] The pressure sensor 5 is located in the interior of the first heat exchanger 1 and connected with the first heat exchanger 1. The controller 6 is electrically connected with the pressure sensor 5 and the first switchable ventilation passage 4, and the controller 6 can be a controller on the vehicle with the function of processing data. The controller 6 is used to control the first switchable ventilation passage 4 to be opened when the pressure detected by the pressure sensor 5 is less than a pressure threshold, and control the first switchable ventilation passage 4 to be closed when the pressure detected by the pressure sensor 5 is greater than or equal to the pressure threshold. The pressure threshold can be set by the relevant technical personnel, and the present disclosure does not limit this. The greater the pressure detected by the pressure sensor 5, the greater the heat in the first heat exchanger 1 and the higher the heat exchanging demand.
[0075] The first switchable ventilation channel 4 is added in the heat exchanger assembly, and the first switchable ventilation channel 4 is arranged side by side with the first heat exchanger 1. In this way, the flow direction of the air can be adjusted by controlling the opening and closing of the first switchable ventilation channel 4. When the first switchable ventilation channel 4 is opened, the air can flow through the first heat exchanger 1 when the first switchable ventilation channel 4 is closed, which can increase the heat exchange efficiency of the first heat exchanger 1. When the first switchable ventilation channel 4 is closed, part of the air flows through the first heat exchanger 1, and part of the air directly flows through the second heat exchanger 2, thereby increasing the heat exchange efficiency of the second heat exchanger 2 and the third heat exchanger 3. Therefore, the heat exchange of each heat exchanger can be balanced by controlling the opening and closing of the first switchable ventilation channel 4, thereby increasing the overall heat exchange efficiency of the three heat exchangers.
[0076] The second structural feature is that the heat exchanger assembly not only includes the first switchable ventilation channel 4, the pressure sensor 5 and the controller 6, but also includes a plurality of first air guide vanes 7.
[0077] As shown in FIG. 7, the plurality of first air guide vanes 7 are located at one end of the first switchable ventilation channel 4 away from the air inlet grille and are connected with the first switchable ventilation channel 4. The plurality of first air guide vanes 7 are used for divergent air guide. The second direction is the vertical direction, the first switchable ventilation channel 4 is located below the first heat exchanger 1, and one end of the plurality of first air guide vanes 7 close to the second heat exchanger 2 is higher than the other end close to the first heat exchanger 1. The angle of each first air guide vane 7 relative to the first direction is positively correlated with the height, that is, the higher the height, the greater the angle relative to the first direction. In this way, when the first switchable ventilation channel 4 is opened, the air flowing through the first switchable ventilation channel 4 can be guided by the air guide vanes, so that the air passing through the first switchable ventilation channel can also flow to the upper parts of the second heat exchanger 2 and the third heat exchanger 3 to a greater extent, thereby better exchanging heat with the fluid in the second heat exchanger 2 and the third heat exchanger 3.
[0078] A plurality of first air guide vanes 7 are arranged at the end of the first switchable ventilation channel 4 away from the air inlet grille, and the direction of the first air guide vanes 7 is related to the height of the air guide page away from the page. When the air flows through the first switchable ventilation channel 4, it continues to flow along the direction of the air guide vanes, so that, compared with not arranging the first air guide vanes 7, arranging the first air guide vanes 7 makes the air not flowing through the first heat exchanger 1 not only flow through the part of the second heat exchanger 2 opposite to the first switchable ventilation channel 4, but also flow through the upper part of the second heat exchanger 2 to a great extent. The air not flowing through the first heat exchanger 1 carries less heat compared with the air flowing through the first heat exchanger 1, so that, for the upper part of the second heat exchanger and the third heat exchanger, not only the air flowing through the first heat exchanger 1 exchanges heat with the second heat exchanger 2 and the third heat exchanger 3, but also the air not flowing through the first heat exchanger 1 exchanges heat with the second heat exchanger 2 and the third heat exchanger 3, thereby increasing the heat exchange efficiency of the second heat exchanger.
[0079] The structural feature three, the heat exchanger assembly not only includes the first switchable ventilation channel 4, the pressure sensor 5, the controller 6, and the plurality of first air guide vanes 7, but also includes the second switchable ventilation channel 8 and the temperature sensor 9.
[0080] As shown in FIG. 8, the second switchable ventilation channel 8 and the second heat exchanger 2 are arranged along a second direction, and the second direction is a vertical direction. The second switchable ventilation channel 8 is connected with the second heat exchanger 2 and the engine compartment respectively, and the ventilation direction of the second switchable ventilation channel 8 is a first direction. The first switchable ventilation channel 4 is opposite to the air inlet grille of the engine compartment, the lower edge of the first switchable ventilation channel 4 is attached to the bottom of the engine compartment, the lower edge of the second switchable ventilation channel 8 has the same height as the upper edge of the first switchable ventilation channel 4, and a part of the second heat exchanger 2 is located above the second switchable ventilation channel 8 and another part is located below the second switchable ventilation channel 8. The size of the second switchable ventilation channel 8 and the second heat exchanger 2 in the plane perpendicular to the first direction is adapted to the engine compartment. The part of the second heat exchanger 2 is connected with the other part through a pipeline.
[0081] When the second switchable ventilation channel 8 is closed, the air blown by the air inlet grille flows through the first heat exchanger 1 and then flows through the second heat exchanger 2, thereby increasing the air volume of the second heat exchanger 2 and better exchanging heat with the fluid in the second heat exchanger 2. When the second switchable ventilation channel 8 is opened, compared with when the second switchable ventilation channel 8 is closed, the air volume flowing through the third heat exchanger 3 is increased, and the fluid in the third heat exchanger 3 is better exchanged. Therefore, the second switchable ventilation channel 8 can balance the air volume based on the heat exchange demand of the second heat exchanger 2, thereby better meeting the overall heat exchange demand of the heat exchanger assembly.
[0082] The mechanism of opening or closing the second switchable ventilation channel 8 is described in detail below. As shown in FIG. 9, the heat exchanger assembly is further provided with a temperature sensor 9 and a controller 6.
[0083] The temperature sensor 9 is located in the fluid circuit of the second heat exchanger 2 and connected to the second heat exchanger 2. The controller 6 is electrically connected to the temperature sensor 9 and the second switchable ventilation channel 8. The controller 6 is configured to control the second switchable ventilation channel 8 to open when the temperature detected by the temperature sensor 9 is less than a temperature threshold, and control the second switchable ventilation channel 8 to close when the temperature detected by the temperature sensor 9 is greater than or equal to the temperature threshold. The temperature threshold can be set by the relevant technical personnel, and the present embodiment does not limit it.
[0084] Alternatively, the second switchable ventilation channel 8 can be opposite to the first switchable ventilation channel 4. When the second switchable ventilation channel 8 is opposite to the first switchable ventilation channel 4, the mechanism of opening and closing the second switchable ventilation channel 8 can be the same as the mechanism described above. For related content, please refer to the above description, and the present embodiment will not be described in detail.
[0085] The first switchable ventilation channel 4 and the second switchable ventilation channel 8 are arranged in the heat exchanger assembly at the same time. Not only the heat exchange demand of the first heat exchanger 1 can be considered, but also the heat exchange demand of the second heat exchanger 2 can be considered, thereby increasing the overall heat exchange efficiency of the heat exchanger assembly.
[0086] Alternatively, the second switchable ventilation channel 8 can be similar to the first switchable ventilation channel 4. The second air guide blade is arranged at the end away from the air inlet grille, and the second air guide blade is connected to the second switchable ventilation channel 8 for divergent air guide. The direction of the second air guide blade can be related to the height. When the second switchable ventilation channel 8 is opposite to the first switchable ventilation channel 4, the direction of the second air guide blade at the center height of the second switchable ventilation channel 8 can be set to the first direction. For other second air guide blades, the greater the difference from the center height, the greater the angle with the first direction. When the first switchable ventilation channel 4 is opposite to the second switchable ventilation channel 8, at the same height, the direction of the second air guide blade can be the same as the direction of the first air guide blade, which will not be described in detail here.
[0087] The second air guide blade is arranged at a point of the second switchable ventilation channel 8 away from the air inlet grille, which can guide the blowing air to continue flowing in the direction of the air guide blade. The air flowing through the second switchable ventilation channel 8 can flow through the third heat exchanger to the greatest extent by arranging the air guide blade, thereby increasing the heat exchange efficiency of the third heat exchanger.
[0088] The heat exchanger assembly further comprises a fan 10.
[0089] The heat exchanger assembly can further include a fan 10, as shown in FIG. 10, which rotates to blow wind into the engine compartment in the wind direction. The fan 10 is electrically connected to the controller 6. The controller can obtain the driving state of the vehicle, which includes two states of static and motion, and can further obtain the driving speed of the vehicle when the vehicle is in motion. When the driving speed of the vehicle is greater than a speed threshold, the air inlet grille of the vehicle can admit more wind in the driving state, at which time the fan 10 can be controlled to be turned off. The speed threshold can be determined by a person skilled in the art according to the actual situation, and the embodiment of the present disclosure will not be described in detail. When the vehicle is static or the driving speed of the vehicle is lower than the speed threshold, the fan 10 can be controlled to be turned on, and the power of the fan 10 can be controlled according to the heat exchange requirements of each heat exchanger. Specifically, the heat exchange requirements of the first heat exchanger 1 and the second heat exchanger 2 can be sensed by the pressure sensor 5 at the first heat exchanger 1 and the temperature sensor 9 at the second heat exchanger 2.
[0090] Optionally, the heat exchanger assembly can further include a wind deflector 11, as shown in FIG. 11, which can reduce the loss of wind blown into the engine compartment, thereby maximizing the flow of wind blown into the engine compartment through each heat exchanger, enhancing the airtightness.
[0091] In the embodiment of the present disclosure, in normal use of the vehicle, generally, the first heat exchanger is for air conditioning and battery heat exchange, and the fluid heat load therein is small, i.e., the heat carried by the fluid is low; the second heat exchanger is for motor assembly and intercooling system heat exchange, and the fluid heat load therein is large, i.e., the heat carried by the fluid is high; and the third heat exchanger is for engine heat exchange, and the fluid heat load therein is the largest, i.e., the heat carried by the fluid is the highest. The order of arrangement of each heat exchanger in the wind direction is the first heat exchanger, the second heat exchanger and the third heat exchanger, i.e., the order is sorted according to the heat carried by the fluid in the heat exchanger from low to high. The heat change of the wind flowing through the first heat exchanger is smaller compared with the wind flowing through the second heat exchanger or the third heat exchanger, and the wind still has a relatively low temperature after flowing through the former heat exchanger and then flowing through the latter heat exchanger, and can still better cool the heat exchanger. In this way, the heat exchange of each heat exchanger in the heat exchanger assembly is more balanced, which can better ensure the normal heat exchange of each heat exchanger, and further better ensure the normal use of the vehicle.
[0092] The embodiment of the present disclosure provides a vehicle, which includes the above-mentioned heat exchanger assembly, and the heat exchanger assembly can be installed in the engine compartment of the vehicle. Each heat exchanger assembly exchanges heat with the fluid in each heat exchanger through the wind blown in, and the cooled fluid flows through each component on the vehicle, thereby adjusting the temperature of each component on the vehicle.
[0093] Those skilled in the art can understand that all or part of the steps of the above-mentioned embodiments can be completed by hardware, or can be instructed by a program to complete the related hardware, and the program can be stored in a computer readable storage medium. The storage medium mentioned above can be a read-only memory, a magnetic disk or an optical disk, etc.
[0094] The above only describes the preferred embodiments of the present disclosure and is not intended to limit the present disclosure. Any modification, equivalent replacement, improvement, etc. made within the spirit and principle of the present disclosure shall be included in the protection scope of the present disclosure.
