Abstract

Abstract HOSE FITTINGS A garden hose fitting 1 comprising a hose connector portion 2 for accepting the end of a garden hose and a connector receiving portion 3 for accepting an O-ring carrying male connector portion 101 of a component to be connected to the hose fitting 1. The connector receiving portion 3 defines a receiving bore B for accepting the male connector portion 101 and comprises a plurality of engaging fingers 71 arranged to move resiliently between an extended position for capturing the male connector portion 101 and a retracted position facilitating insertion and removal of the male connector portion 101 in the receiving bore B. An O-ring retaining portion 72 is provided in the receiving bore B for accepting an O-ring 102 which is retained in the fitting 1 and arranged for sealing against a male connector portion 101 when inserted into the receiving bore B and connected to the hose fitting 1.
