Abstract

Abstract – Fire Resistant Frame The present invention relates to a fire resistant frame for a door, window or other closure. The fire resistant frame includes timber framed structure that defines one or more apertures for insertion of a glass panel, and a glass panel inserted into the one or more aperture. The glass panel is located within a slot in the timber frame structure. The fire resistant frame further includes a planar heat conductive strip that is disposed adjacent the periphery of the glass panel. The heat conductive strip extends inwardly of the inner periphery of the aperture to present an outer major face of the planar conductive strip as a heat transfer surface for transferring heat to the outer periphery of the glass panel in the event of exposure to a fire.
