Abstract

Abstract The present disclosure provides a mounting strip (10) for mounting one or more cladding sheets (30) to a supporting structure (S). The mounting strip (10) comprises: an elongate base (11) defining one or more positions (15) along a longitudinal extent of the elongate base for locating a clip-type fastener (20), and at least one cut-out section (18) provided in the elongate base (11) at or adjacent to a respective one of the positions (15) for locating a clip-type fastener (20). The at least one cut-out section (18) is adapted to be folded or deformed out of a plane of the elongate base (11) to form a spacer or stand-off (19) for creating or defining a predetermined gap (G) between the elongate base and a structural member (B) of a supporting structure (S) on or against which the mounting strip (10) is supported. The present disclosure also provides a mounting system (1) for mounting one or more cladding sheets (30) to a structural member (B) of a supporting structure (S), the mounting system (1) comprising: at least one mounting strip (10) according to any one of the embodiments described, and a plurality of clip-type fasteners (20) to be located at positions (15) spaced apart along the longitudinal extent of the elongate base (11) of the mounting strip (10) at predetermined intervals (16). Each of the clip-type fasteners (20) is adapted to engage a rib (31) of one of the cladding sheets (30) for securing the cladding sheet (30) to the mounting strip (10) on the supporting structure (S) and, as noted above, each cut-out section (18) in the elongate base (11) is adapted to be folded or deformed out of a plane of the elongate base (11) to form a spacer or stand-off (19) to create or define a predetermined gap (G) between the elongate base (11) and a structural member (B) of the supporting structure (S) on or against which the mounting strip (10) is supported.
