Wireless communication methods and devices for narrowband interference management

Abstract

Methods and wireless communication devices for narrowband interference detection and mitigation during reception of wireless signals. Exemplary methods or devices receive a wireless signal in an operating frequency band on a wireless communication medium, observe a frequency domain representation of the wireless signal to detect any sub-carrier affected by narrowband interference, generate one or more narrowband interference locations and identify one or more sub-carrier indices when narrowband interference is present in the operating frequency band. The methods or devices further generate a processed time domain signal to suppress one or more frequencies associated with the narrowband interference locations, provide the processed time domain signal to frequency domain processing to modify power related values associated with the sub-carrier corresponding to the identified sub-carrier indices in a frequency domain.
