Abstract

A multimodal biophysical sensing system comprising: an elongate device having at least one electrode disposed on a distal portion thereof; an electrical stimulator configured to deliver a charge-controlled pulse to the at least one electrode to charge an electrochemical double layer at an electrode-interface; sensing circuitry configured to measure a time- domain potential decay of the electrode-interface during a specified sensing window following the pulse; an impedance measurement module configured to determine an electrical access impedance of the electrode; and a processor configured to execute a fusion operation that classifies a tissue contact state by cross-referencing the measured potential decay against the measured electrical access impedance. 20 26 20 62 36 20 J ul 2 02 6 2 0 2 6 2 0 6 2 3 6 2 0 J u l 2 0 2 6 2 0 2 6 2 0 6 2 3 6 2 0 J u l 2 0 2 6
