Abstract

ABSTRACT: A dump truck body for a dump truck is disclosed comprising a tray comprising a floor and two side walls extending up from the floor, and a front wall extending between the side walls on a leading end of the tray. The truck body comprises a front strengthening arrangement on the front wall comprising a front rib having first and second sides mounted on the front wall and an intermediate rib section between the first and second sides that is spaced above an external surface of the front wall. The front rib extends substantially horizontally across the full width of the front wall and the first and second sides of the front rib may be welded to the front wall along their lengths. The front strengthening arrangement may further comprise at least one stiffener extending transverse to the front strengthening member.
