Abstract Disclosed is an electrically powered aerial vehicle comprising: a DC bus: a plurality of batteries, coupled in parallel to the DC bus; at least one switch, wherein each of the at least one switch is coupled in series between at least one battery of the plurality of batteries and the DC bus; a plurality of inverter circuits, coupled in parallel to the DC bus; and a plurality of motors, wherein each of the plurality of motors is coupled to a respective inverter circuit of the plurality of inverter circuits.
