Abstract
Typically, seismic data can provide valuable information about the location and / or evolution of hydrocarbon deposits in the Earth's subsurface. The present disclosure discusses techniques that can be used by a computing system to analyze data sets that typically include signals that have poor coherence (e.g., incoherent mixed noise). In particular, the computing system can detect a portion of the seismogram's weakly coherent signals due to the overlap of selected seismic source excitations and, using a mask, isolate the coherent signals and other weakly coherent signals from the masked portion of the weakly coherent signals. Coherent signals and other signals with weak coherence can be reprocessed and used to predict the values of masked signals with weak coherence.
