Abstract
A gas-cooled machine capable of operating at variable rotational speeds, comprising: a) a heat-generating part; b) a heat exchanger thermally coupled to the heat-generating part to dissipate heat from the heat-generating part; c) an electric fan designed to draw a gas stream through the heat exchanger to dissipate heat from the heat exchanger to the surroundings, thereby heating the gas stream; where the electric fan is designed to be exposed to the heated gas stream; d) a control unit for regulating the heat generation of the machine; where the control unit is configured to regulate the heat generation of the gas-cooled machine based on at least a reference temperature for the electric fan; an associated operating method and a control unit.
