Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for obtaining bleached microcrystalline cellulose from bleached cellulose by carrying out acid hydrolysis under soft conditions, washing and subsequent homogenization at low pressures. This method allows, from paper pulp containing a significant amount of hemicelluloses, to obtain microcrystalline cellulose with high whiteness and indicators suitable for use in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industries, in agriculture and the chemical industry.
