Description

1 / 5 AUTOMATIC BLASTING MACHINE FOR GLASS MATERIALS

[001] This patent application for Invention (PI) refers to an “AUTOMATIC SANDBLASTING MACHINE FOR GLASS MATERIALS”, more particularly to equipment with a sandblasting booth equipped with two guns, a glass support stand and a traction conveyor that uses limit switches to regulate the end of the process. The developed automated structure considerably reduces the glass sandblasting time and, consequently, the physical strain on operators. Description of the prior art:

[002] Glass is an inorganic, amorphous, and homogeneous substance obtained by cooling molten mass (1600 °C), resulting from the combination of the following basic elements: silica, potassium, alumina, sodium, magnesium, and calcium. For the manufacture of colored glass, elements such as selenium, iron oxide, and cobalt are added. Glass can be manufactured / processed in various ways. Furthermore, various treatments can be employed to modify its mechanical and optical properties, such as sandblasting.

[003] Sandblasted glass is commonly used in interior design projects where a degree of privacy is desired. Its production process – which was formerly done with sandblasting – has evolved to the use of abrasive powders that, applied to the glass surface, create patterns and ensure greater uniformity. Sandblasted glass can also be tempered and laminated, and is often used in this way to create stair treads and glass floors. Versatile, practical, and sophisticated are some of the adjectives that define sandblasted glass. Petition 870260064273, dated 06 / 30 / 2026, page 17 / 25 2 / 5

[004] With the aim of optimizing its production, various equipment and methods have been developed over the years for glass blasting, ranging from manual to fully automated methods. The patent applications shown below present the technologies found with the highest degree of similarity to the product being sought.

[005] Document PI 0102868-5 protects a blasting apparatus with a double-structured deflector. The blasting apparatus includes a blasting cabinet to house a workpiece, a nozzle, a propulsion device, and a blasting medium retention unit. In use, the propulsion device directs air and blasting medium along a blasting path against a workpiece. In one aspect, the double-structured deflector is positioned within the blasting path and includes an inner structure, an outer structure, and a tubular support.

[006] Document CN206475070U discloses a type of glass blasting machine that includes a wheel frame, support structure, main frame, transmission motor, control cabinet, observation window, manual spray window, fan and collection box. The equipment performs the comminution and pulverization of sand.

[007] As stated, the prior art found identifies products related to sandblasting equipment for glass, but with proposals that differ from what is required in the present patent, and devices and equipment that use the limit switch, functionalities and assembly in accordance with the attached figures are not presented. Brief description of the objective:

[008] In order to provide new equipment for blasting particulates onto vitreous substrates, with a cabin equipped with two guns, Petition 870260064273, dated 06 / 30 / 2026, page 18 / 25 3 / 5 glass support trestle and traction conveyor that uses limit switches to regulate the end of the process, the present solution is proposed. Its functionalities can be better understood by the following detailed description in accordance with the attached figures, where: Figure 1 shows a schematic representation of the assembly of the AUTOMATIC SANDBLASTING MACHINE FOR GLASS MATERIALS. Figure 2 shows a schematic representation, in exploded view, of the AUTOMATIC BLASTING MACHINE FOR GLASS MATERIALS, identifying the elements: Cabin (1), Sensor Rail (2), Upper Gear (3), Sensor Support (4), Carriage on Arm (5), Traction Conveyor (6), Gun Fixing Bar (7), Internal Stand (8), Carriage Motor Support with Gear (9), Fixing Nut (10), Carriage Chain (11), Support Assembly with Guns (12), False Bottom (13), Carriage Sensor Stop (14), Glass Sensor Actuator (15), Door (16), Control Panel (17), Chain Guard (18), Exit Stand (19), Inlet Stand (20) and Exhaust System (21), which comprises the cyclone (21a), the reservoir (21b) and the bag filter (21c). Detailed description of the invention:

[009] The AUTOMATIC BLASTING MACHINE FOR GLASS MATERIALS is an equipment that includes the following components: Cabin (1), Sensor Rail (2), Upper Gear (3), Sensor Support (4), Carriage on Arm (5), Traction Conveyor (6), Gun Fixing Bar (7), Internal Stand (8), Carriage Motor Support with Gear (9), Fixing Nut (10), Carriage Chain (11), Support Assembly with Guns (12), False Bottom (13), Carriage Sensor Stop (14), Glass Sensor Actuator (15), Door (16), Control Panel (17), Chain Guard (18), Output Stand (19), Input Stand (20) and Exhaust System (21). Petition 870260064273, dated 06 / 30 / 2026, page 19 / 25 4 / 5

[0010] The invention also uses limit switches on the traction conveyor (6), with adjustment of the blasting height done manually. After adjusting the limit switch, simply press the start button on the control panel (17) and the process begins.

[0011] The Exhaust System (21) is attached to the cabin (1), comprising a cyclone (21a) coupled to the exhaust motor, a reservoir (21b) with a capacity between 100 and 200 liters and a bag filter (21c) that retains the dust generated inside the cabin (1), providing a safe working environment for the operators where the machine is installed. The equipment works with two blasting guns mounted on the support (12), which preferably use sintered aluminum oxide as raw material.

[0012] The electrical part consists of the control panel (17) and two motors, the first of which performs the up and down movement of the guns, while the second is responsible for the conveyor belt traction. As mentioned, coupled to the cabin (1) is the Exhaust System (21), consisting of the suction cyclone (21a) with electric exhaust fan, the reservoir (21b) and the bag filter (21c).

[0013] The blasting process is carried out as follows: first, the glass piece is positioned on the infeed stand (20), so that it rests on the traction conveyor (6). Next, the desired blasting height is checked. Then, simply adjust the limit switch; for this, in the machine cabin (1) there is a reference scale with dimensions in meters: simply release the limit switch sensor and position it, following the scale to reference the desired measurement. For best results, the glass should be free of cardboard and glue or products that may cause clogging of the gun. Petition 870260064273, dated 06 / 30 / 2026, p. 20 / 25 5 / 5

[0014] Finally, it is also worth noting the existence of possibilities for modifications and adaptations, especially in the formats and manufacturing material of the components, and the descriptive memorandum of this document should not be considered as limiting, but rather as illustrative, and there may be constructive variations, for those skilled in the art, that are equivalent without, however, departing from the scope of protection of the invention.
