DESCRIPTIVE REPORT “ODORIZING ADHESIVE AND ITS COMPOSITION” Technical field

[01] The invention proposes an air freshener adhesive product with prolonged action and whose composition also has a repellent action, helping to keep insects away and protect users against bites and transmission of diseases by mosquitoes while also scenting the environment near or around the user.

[02] Its composition is 90% ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), which provides the matrix for the fragrance, ensuring flexibility and resistance to the product, and 10% citronella essential oil, extracted from the Cymbopogon winterianus plant responsible for the scent. This base, when solidified, receives an adhesive layer and is finished with a layer of printed TNT for customization.

[03] This scent-enhancing sticker is effective for up to 12 hours, as the citronella embedded in the solidified EVA structure is released gradually and in a controlled manner, making the product a practical and efficient solution. Application is simple, allowing users to place the sticker directly on clothing or objects, providing a convenient scent-enhancing experience for their surroundings. State of the Art

[04] In the air freshener or repellent product segment, many conventional products use synthetic chemical compounds for odor retention or repellent action, such as DEET or picaridin. Although these ingredients are effective, safety concerns arise, particularly regarding Petition 870250008647, dated 03 / 02 / 2025, page 13 / 20 2 / 7 with regard to allergic reactions, especially when used by babies, children, and more sensitive individuals.

[05] Liquid air fresheners or repellents such as sprays and lotions are common alternatives, but their application can be laborious and requires frequent reapplication to maintain effectiveness.

[06] Another category to consider are repellents in the form of bracelets or wristbands. These products promise to repel insects by releasing essential oils or chemical compounds, but their effectiveness can be inconsistent and they generally do not offer long-lasting protection.

[07] Additionally, other adhesives, such as the one described in patent PI 0608198-3, offer specific shapes and sizes. However, they do not use natural components as an active ingredient, posing risks to babies and more sensitive individuals. Furthermore, these adhesives are manufactured from materials that do not allow for efficient fusion with the active ingredient and, therefore, do not represent a good vehicle for it, failing to guarantee durability, with many of them losing their effect even before application.

[08] Although there are natural air fresheners and spray repellents that use citronella and other essential oils, these products require more frequent reapplication and do not guarantee good durability, as they do not provide an efficient vehicle for containing and releasing the repellent agent. Objectives of the invention

[09] The objective of the invention is to provide a natural scented adhesive that combines the effectiveness of citronella essential oil, the practicality of the adhesive format, application by an efficient and durable vehicle for the scenting agent, in addition to providing mosquito repellent action. [10] To this end, the inventor designed an adhesive for application on clothing and other surfaces, formed from a composition of EVA and pure citronella essential oil, without the addition of any other compound and therefore without harmful chemicals or compounds. This composition is achieved by mixing molten EVA and pure citronella, where the solidification and molding process allows the EVA matrix to be soaked and fused with the citronella to ensure a gradual and controlled dissipation of the odorizing agent.

[11] This product aims to provide long-lasting fragrance, lasting up to 12 hours, which also provides protection against insects, making it ideal for both indoor environments and outdoor activities such as camping and hiking.

[12] In addition to offering a practical solution, the adhesive was formulated with natural ingredients, seeking to meet a growing demand for less chemical and safer alternatives.

[13] The idea is that users can easily apply the sticker to clothing and objects, ensuring a safe and effective odor-controlling experience and, secondarily, protection against mosquitoes. Description of the figures

[15] In accordance with the attached drawings, the invention relates to an odorizing adhesive type product (1) with non-toxic composition, high durability and high efficiency, which also has mosquito repellent action.

[16] The product is a (1) molded adhesive in a specific shape and composed of EVA fused with pure citronella essential oil, wherein the EVA represents a solid matrix soaked with citronella oil fused to its structure during solidification. [17] The EVA and citronella adhesive product (1) is malleable, with the back face having an adhesive layer and the front face having a TNT layer (2) printed with colored ink.

[18] Product (1) stands out for its combination of pure citronella essential oil, known for its aromatic and repellent properties, fused into a solid EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) matrix with an adhesive layer. [20] The adhesive product (1) is presented in one or more units placed by their sticky back face on a peelable adhesive card (3), which is arranged in one or more units in a blister (4) of the ziplock bag type, which is arranged in one or more units in a commercial packaging (5). [ 21 ] The odorizing adhesive product ( 1 ) is applied (glued in a removable way) to clothes or other surfaces to odorize the environment and, additionally, repel mosquitoes and other insects, offering aromatization for up to 12 hours, also representing a prolonged 'defense' against bites and diseases transmitted by mosquitoes.

[22] The adhesive (1), or more precisely the EVA matrix, is molded after fusion with citronella and in the cooling step with Petition 870250008647, dated 03 / 02 / 2025, page 17 / 20 6 / 7 the desired shape, this shape being preferably an outline that will follow the image printed on the TNT layer (2).

[23] The TNT layer (2) is printed, by colour printing, with a nice-looking and friendly figure, preferably a character, preferably designed for children. Comments:

[24] Citronella, the main active ingredient, is widely recognized for its pleasant and intense fragrance, as well as its effectiveness in repelling insects.

[25] EVA fused with citronella and then solidified in a mold allows for the gradual and controlled release of the essence during product use (1), allowing up to 12 hours of action.

[26] EVA not only serves as a support and vehicle, but also ensures that the adhesive (1) withstands external conditions such as humidity and temperature variations, which is essential for its operation in different situations, allowing an effective and safe solution for odor control and insect protection, including during outdoor activities.

[27] The blister (4) with a hermetic ziplock closure preserves the essential oil in the product units (1) before use. Its use in the presentation of the product (1) provides physical protection to the adhesives and prevents contamination, ensuring that they remain intact until they are used.

[29] This adhesive product (1) not only offers long-lasting scent and easy application, but also stands out for using natural ingredients {100% citronella}, without any toxic compounds, making it a safe alternative for children and babies, without posing risks or causing discomfort.

[30] The TNT (non-woven fabric) of the printed TNT layer (2) of the product (1) was chosen for its strength and lightness, characteristics that protect the adhesives (1) against moisture and other factors that could compromise their functionality. This material is practical and economical, ideal for disposable packaging and can be easily printed with colored ink.

Claims
