Description

5 Instant Payments Between Mobile Devices via Proximity Field of invention

[001] The present invention belongs to the field of financial technology (fintech) and near-field communication technologies applied to electronic payments. More specifically, it is a payment system that uses mobile devices, such as cell phones, smartwatches, payment bracelets and other compatible devices, to carry out instant and secure financial transactions via Pix key, using NFC (Near Field Communication) technology.

[002] The main point that this patent seeks to protect is the integration of NFC technology with Pix transactions, specifically with the possibility of carrying out instant financial transactions offline. The great differential and innovation of the system lies in allowing payments to be made automatically and securely between mobile devices via NFC proximity, without the need to manually access the banking application.

[003] In addition, the system offers offline payment functionality, ensuring that transactions occur even without an internet connection. This proposal represents a practical and innovative solution to optimize payments via Pix, which currently require multiple steps and depend on a constant connection.

[004] By enabling offline transactions, the project stands out for providing a faster, safer, and more efficient payment process, with the integration of multiple mobile devices and ease of use for different audiences.

[005] Currently, payments via Pix require a manual process that involves: • Open the banking app; • Log in using a password, biometrics, or facial recognition; • Select the Pix payment option; • Enter or scan the recipient's Pix key (CPF, phone number, email, or QR Code); Petition 870250105863, dated 11 / 19 / 2025, page 3 / 9 / 5 • Confirm the transaction by re-entering the password or using a second authentication factor; • If there is no connection, the transaction is not completed.

[006] Although this process is relatively quick, it still involves multiple steps and depends on manual user interaction, which can lead to delays and increase the likelihood of errors, such as incorrectly typing the Pix key or paying the wrong recipient.

[007] Currently, there is no system that allows for the automatic exchange of Pix keys between mobile devices via NFC or similar technology, eliminating the need for manual typing and speeding up payment.

[008] The main technical problem that this invention solves is the need to manually access the banking application to make a payment via Pix, in addition to the impossibility of carrying out the transaction in case of lack of internet connection, which can be time-consuming and impractical in everyday situations.

[009] The invention proposes an innovative system that automates the exchange of banking information and payment authentication, allowing users to simply bring their mobile devices close together to initiate the transaction.

[010] The system has several technical advantages, including:

[011] Agility and Ease of Use: • Eliminates the need to manually open the banking app; • It avoids the need to type in the Pix key, reducing human error; • Enables instant payments by simply bringing two compatible devices close together.

[012] Greater Security: Petition 870250105863, dated 11 / 19 / 2025, page 4 / 9 / 5 • Reduces the risk of scams, such as altered QR codes or fake payment links; • The use of NFC requires devices to be physically close, reducing attempts at remote fraud; • Protection with encryption to prevent data interception during transmission.

[013] Multiplatform Integration: • It can be used in various devices, such as smartphones, smartwatches, smart bracelets, and NFC payment terminals; • Compatible with different financial institutions through API integration.

[014] Accessibility and Financial Inclusion: • It facilitates the use of digital payments for people with little familiarity with technology; • Reduces barriers for the elderly or people with mobility difficulties.

[015] Expansion for Other Uses: • It can be integrated with NFC payment machines in commercial establishments; • Ability to operate offline, with authorization stored locally for later synchronization.

[016] The present invention consists of a payment system based on proximity communication between mobile devices, using a dedicated application for authentication and secure exchange of bank details.

[017] The system operates as follows: • The user downloads the application to their mobile device; • On your first access, create a login and password for authentication; • Register your Pix key, linking it to your bank account; Petition 870250105863, dated 11 / 19 / 2025, page 5 / 9 / 5 When two devices with the app are brought close together, a connection is established via NFC; The receiving device transmits its Pix key and authorized bank details; The payment device accesses bank details via the financial institution's API; The payer enters the amount and confirms the payment; The transaction is completed instantly and securely.

[018] The system has the following security features: • End-to-end encryption in NFC communication; • Multifactor authentication (biometrics or password); • Automatic blocking after suspicious attempts.

[019] The app can store recurring payments, facilitating frequent contactless transactions without re-entering data.

[020] The system is compatible with various mobile devices and financial institutions via integration through authorized APIs.

[021] To increase flexibility and ensure payments even in situations where there is no internet connection, the system will have two offline operating modes:

[022] Offline Payment with Bank Balance Reservation: • The user can reserve a pre-determined amount in their bank account directly through the app. The bank blocks this amount and makes it available for offline payments; • When a user makes a transaction without internet access, the app confirms the availability of the reserved balance and authorizes the payment on the recipient's device; • As soon as the internet connection is restored, the app sends the transaction to the bank, which finalizes the payment and releases the corresponding hold. Petition 870250105863, dated 11 / 19 / 2025, page 6 / 9 / 5

[023] Advantages of the balance-reserved mode: • The funds are already guaranteed by the bank, preventing a shortage of funds; • Secure, as the balance can only be used for payments approved by the user.

[024] Offline Payment with Pre-Loaded Credits: • The user can purchase credits within the app, which are stored locally on the device; • These credits can be transferred directly to another user via NFC, without the need for internet access; • As soon as the connection is re-established, the application sends the transaction records to the bank, which processes the corresponding payment.

[025] Advantages of the pre-loaded credits mode: • It does not depend on having a blocked balance in the bank, allowing for instant payments; • Ideal for situations where the user wants to set a fixed offline spending limit. Petition 870250105863, dated 11 / 19 / 2025, page 7 / 9
