Description

1 / 6 CONSTRUCTION CONFIGURATION APPLIED TO A TURBOCHARGED AUTOMOTIVE VEHICLE COOLING SYSTEM AND VEHICLE FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of the automotive industry, focusing more specifically on the development of a constructive configuration to be provided in an automotive vehicle cooling system, in order to guarantee the proper accommodation and perfect fixation of one of the constituent elements of the cooling system, even in situations of space restriction, as well as avoiding possible interference with the vehicle structure. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] An automobile's cooling system plays a crucial role in maintaining engine temperature, preventing overheating and ensuring optimal vehicle performance. Basically, the cooling process can be based on air cooling or using a liquid (water and / or coolant), and the present invention relates to a constructive configuration applied to a water cooling system, of the type that has components such as a radiator, electric fan, coolant transport hoses, and other accessory parts such as, for example, a structural ring protecting the electric fan. In addition to the aspect of engine cooling, there are important details for supercharged engines, using turbochargers or compressors, as there is also a need to cool the compressed air before it enters the engine cylinders, ensuring that the engine receives air at a low temperature and, therefore, denser. This is because, when air is compressed by the turbocharger, its temperature increases, becoming less dense, which means there would be less oxygen available for combustion in the engine. Therefore, vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines employ cooling solutions containing a heat exchanger (or intercooler, a common term in the automotive industry) based on liquid coolant cooling systems, which are more efficient but more complex, requiring additional equipment and occupying more space in the engine compartment. Within this system, the hoses, which transport the coolant between various components such as the radiator, water pump, and thermostat, occupy significant space. It is important to note this. Petition 870250012370, dated 02 / 14 / 2025, page 8 / 19 2 / 6 Conventional, non-supercharged engines can also employ heat exchangers in their cooling solutions, but, particularly in the case of turbocharged engines, there is a need to use an intercooler using coolant. In this situation, within the various possibilities in the automotive environment, if one wishes to change a conventional engine to a turbocharged engine, the production cost of the car will end up being impacted, mainly by changes in its front structural module, as well as in components of the upper portion of the body, to allow the adaptation of the appropriate cooling system.Several solutions for improving the arrangement of cooling system components can be observed in the current state of the art, but without a suitable solution that allows for greater diversification in engines for a given automotive version, particularly when this diversification ends up encountering physical dimensional limitations of the engine compartment.

[0003] Searching the state of the art patent literature, the following documents were found:

[0004] Document JP2019043165 describes an engine cooling structure designed to improve hose mounting while ensuring vibration resistance. The structure has inlet and outlet pipes connected to the radiator, with a clamp that secures the hoses in their parallel section, increasing stability and durability.

[0005] Document EP1847755 describes a radiator hose mounting structure in a vehicle, where the hoses are firmly attached to a suspension member that is elastically supported by a vibration damping component. This configuration ensures a stable connection between the control source and the suspension system, minimizing vibrations, thus improving the durability and performance of the cooling system.

[0006] Document EP3475600 describes a radiator hose fastening assembly for a vehicle, consisting of a support plate fixed to the vehicle body and a fastening mechanism, which includes a ring that secures the coolant supply tube and a fastening terminal anchored to the support plate, ensuring a stable and reliable connection.

[0007] Thus, considering the state-of-the-art solutions, it is evident that none of them has been able to solve the technical problem associated with the lack of space for Petition 870250012370, dated 02 / 14 / 2025, page 9 / 19 3 / 6 Accommodation of a supercharged engine incorporating its cooling system as a replacement for a conventional engine equipped with an air heat exchanger, without making significantly important changes to the front structural module and upper body components of a car.

[0008] In view of the points presented, the importance and urgency of a technical solution capable of overcoming the current gap in this technical field is clear. Taking these points into account, the present invention aims to offer a favorable solution to the problems previously presented. OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION

[0009] The present invention, in a first objective, aims to provide a constructive configuration applied to a turbocharged automotive vehicle cooling system capable of allowing its adaptation to the engine compartment space of a vehicle without altering the usual dimensions employed in a conventional engine.

[0010] Another objective of the invention is to eliminate interference with parts of the upper part of the body and the front structural module of the vehicle, consequently avoiding an increase in the final production cost of the vehicle.

[0011] Another objective of the invention is to provide a constructive configuration that eliminates the need for separate means of securing the hoses that are components of the vehicle's water cooling system. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0012] In this way, the present invention solves such problems of the prior art by adopting fixing guides provided in a semicircular arrangement, next to the upper edge of the structural ring protecting the electric fan, a component of the engine cooling system, partially illustrated. With this, the cooling hose passes through said fixing guides, so as to externally encircle the structural ring protecting the electric fan of the engine cooling system, occupying a previously vacant space and allowing the cooling assembly of the turbocharged engine to occupy the same space previously intended for a non-turbocharged engine, avoiding structural changes to the vehicle and providing economies of scale in production.

[0013] The present invention also relates to a vehicle incorporating the constructive configuration as defined above. Petition 870250012370, dated 02 / 14 / 2025, page 10 / 19 4 / 6

Figure 2 is a front plan view of part of the cooling system illustrated in Figure 1. Figure 3 is a longitudinal section detailing the constructive design of the fixing guide component of the present invention. Figure 4 is similar to Figure 1, but from a different angle. Figure 5 is a detailed perspective view of part of Figure 4.

[0016] The reference elements shown in the figures are: cooling system 1; hose 2; structural ring 3 of an electric fan (not shown); and fixing guide 4. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0017] Before the invention is described in detail, it should be understood that it is not limited to the specific component parts of the described apparatus, as such components may vary. It should also be understood that the terminology used herein is only for the purpose of describing particular embodiments and is not intended to be limiting. It should be noted that, as used in the descriptive report, claims and abstract presented, the singular forms a, an, and / or include singular and / or plural referents, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. Furthermore, it should be understood that, in the case of parameter ranges delimited by numerical values being provided, the ranges are considered to include these limiting values.

[0019] The present invention discloses a constructive configuration applied to a cooling system 1 of a turbocharged automotive vehicle, of the type that incorporates, among other elements, a cooling hose 2 and a structural ring 3 of an electric fan (not illustrated), comprising the adoption of fixing guides 4 provided in a semicircular arrangement, next to the upper edge of the structural ring 3 of the electric fan, wherein the cooling hose 2 passes through said fixing guides 4, so as to externally encircle the structural ring 3 component of the cooling system 1.

[0020] The present invention relates to a vehicle comprising the constructive configuration as defined above.

[0021] The present invention differs from the prior art in that it overcomes the need to make structural changes to the vehicle, particularly to its front structural module and upper body components, when the engine option is a turbocharged engine instead of a conventional engine, for the same vehicle. This is because, in the constructive configuration that is the subject of this invention, the cooling hose 2 has part of its length passing through the fixing guides 4, causing this portion of the hose 2 to encircle the structural ring 3 of the electric fan and, in this way, optimize the internal space of the engine compartment, without the need for structural changes to the vehicle, resulting in a significant reduction in additional manufacturing costs.
