Description
/ 7 “LED Cord Housing Profile Terminal Piece” INTRODUCTION
[001] This descriptive report refers to a patent application for an invention for a terminal piece of a light-emitting diode string housing profile, belonging to the technical sector of lighting installations, particularly lighting by light-emitting diodes (hereinafter referred to as LEDs in this report), said terminal piece which has as a novelty the incorporation of an on-off switch for the LED string. STATE OF THE ART
[002] A known LED lighting system comprises: LED string lights; a profile that houses the LED string lights; and end pieces for the profile. Typically, these end pieces serve as terminals for the LED profile, receive the electrical circuit that powers the LED string lights, and provide support for the assembly on a surface. However, during the use of this type of installation, it is not uncommon to want to switch it off. Currently, switching it off must be done from the electrical power supply point. This, depending on the installation, may not be suitable. OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION
[003] Thus, the objective of the present patent application is to provide a terminal piece that, in addition to its usual function, also acts as an on-off switch for the LED string.
[004] Another objective is to provide a terminal piece whose operation of Petition 870260023892, dated 03 / 13 / 2026, page 5 / 20 / 7 electrical switch should be easy for the user.
[005] Another objective is to provide a terminal piece that, despite providing the functionality of a key, has a simple construction and manufacturing process relative to usual pieces.
[006] Another objective is to provide a low-cost terminal piece. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[007] In view, therefore, of the aspects and objectives above and in order to observe and meet them, the terminal piece of housing profile for light-emitting diode strings, object of the present patent application, was developed, which comprises an intermediate housing, with an open face facing the mounting surface of the assembly; a fixing tab on the mounting surface extending externally from one end of the housing; a fitting located at the opposite end of the housing into which the housing profile for the LED string fits; a “reed switch”, formed by: electrical contacts inside an ampoule mounted on a plate, arranged in internal claws of the housing; and an actuator formed by a “U” shaped handle that incorporates a neodymium magnet and that can be mounted and dismounted in the housing.
[008] This terminal piece construction fulfills its usual function of providing terminations for the LED string housing profile and additionally features the functionality of an electrical switch that turns the LED string on and off, which promotes lower electrical energy consumption, thus fulfilling the main objective of the invention.
[009] The construction method of the electrical switch incorporated into the part Petition 870260023892, dated 03 / 13 / 2026, page 6 / 20 / 7 terminal, namely, a “reed switch” having the contacts mounted inside the housing and the magnet that actuates them incorporated into a handle that can be mounted and dismounted from the housing, provides easy operation for the user, thus fulfilling another objective of the invention.
[010] The present terminal piece, in addition to the above functionalities, has a relatively simple construction and manufacturing process and low cost, which meets other objectives of the invention. LIST OF DRAWINGS

DETAILED DESCRIPTION BASED ON THE DRAWINGS
[012] As illustrated in the figures above and provided for in the invention, the terminal piece 1, the subject of this patent application, acts as a terminal for profile 100 housing LED string 200 and is essentially formed by: an intermediate section 2; a tab with a hole 3 receiving a means of fixing the assembly to a seating surface, said tab 3 extending from one end of section 2; a tubular fitting 4 provided at the opposite end of section 2 and in which the profile 100 housing the LED string 200 and the electrical power supply wiring 201 fit and are supported.
[013] In the present invention, and this constituting the main object to be protected in the patent, said terminal piece 1 has mounted an electrical switch 20 that turns the string of LEDs 200 on and off. Petition 870260023892, dated 03 / 13 / 2026, p. 8 / 20 / 7
[014] In one possible embodiment, said terminal piece 1 consists of an elongated intermediate prismatic housing 2, from opposite ends of which extend the tab 3 and the fitting 4. The electrical switch 20 is a “reed switch” formed by: a set of electrical contacts and bulb 21, interposed in the electrical wiring 201 and mounted on a plate 22, supported by claws 5 inside the housing 2; and by a magnet (neodymium magnet) 23 incorporated into a flexible “U” shaped actuating device 24, which can be mounted or dismounted from the housing 2, to turn the contacts 21 on or off and turn the LED string 200 on or off.The aforementioned flexible “U” loop 24 is formed by: a transverse branch 25, which incorporates the magnet 23 and is juxtaposed to the outer surface of the front wall 6 of the housing 2; said “U” shaped loop 24 is further formed by parallel branches with free fitting ends 26 facing each other and which fit / disengage into respective slots 27 provided in the opposite side walls 7 of the housing 2, so that said “U” shaped loop 24 can be mounted in the housing 2, to position the magnet 23 in the position where it closes the contacts 21 and turns on the LED string 200 or said “U” shaped loop 24 can be disassembled from the housing 2 by removing the magnet 23 from the position where it closes the contacts 21, turning off the LED string 200. The flexible “U” shaped loop 24, which houses the magnet 23, is made of flexible material, Polycarbonate or flexible PVC.
[015] Thus, when the electrical switch 20 is in the on position, that is, when the U-shaped handle 24 is mounted in the housing 2, the magnet 23 closes the contacts 21, in a manner known in the art, and the LED string 200 is switched on. When the U-shaped handle 24 is Petition 870260023892, dated 03 / 13 / 2026, page 9 / 20 / 7 disassembled from housing 2 and magnet 23 ceases to act on contacts 21, these open and disconnect the string of LEDs 200. In this way, it is possible to turn the LED strip on and off, in order to save electrical energy.
[016] In detail, the present end piece 1 presents other characteristic details. Thus, the housing 2 is prismatic, may have a half-moon section, defined by: a convex front wall 6; flat side walls 7 provided with slots 27; flat end walls 8 from which extend the flange 3 and fitting 4; and an open rear face 9 opposite the front wall 6. The housing 2 may have fitting 4 without a lock (Fig. 8) or fitting 4 with a lock 4' (Fig. 9), the latter consisting of an extended pin of the tubular fitting 4 which provides fastening by fitting or pressure in place of the glue normally used in the connection.
[017] The present end piece 1 can be made of rigid or flexible Polycarbonate or PVC, to overcome the problem of breakage of the piece verified with the material normally used, depending on the application.
[018] In conjunction with end piece 1, profile 100 (Fig. 10) can be slim and made of transparent polycarbonate, in order to take up less space, use less raw material, provide a distinctive design and have a lower cost.
[019] The materials used in this LED bar assembly prevent breakages that occur with commonly used materials, thus favoring the use of terminal piece 1 and greater economy.
[020] These characteristics of the LED lighting assembly, Petition 870260023892, dated 03 / 13 / 2026, page 10 / 20
