Description

1 / 3 DESCRIPTIVE REPORT PROTECTIVE CAPSULE FOR ORAL ADMINISTRATION OF MEDICATIONS Field of invention

[001] The present invention belongs to the field of the pharmaceutical industry and auxiliary devices for drug administration, more specifically it refers to a protective capsule intended to enclose tablets, with the purpose of reducing discomfort during swallowing and increasing adherence to drug treatment. Fundamentals of the invention

[002] Currently, administering tablets orally presents difficulties in different populations, such as children, the elderly, and people with hypersensitivity to the taste or texture of medications. Tablets may have a bitter taste or cause irritation in the esophagus and stomach.

[003] Conventional capsules existing in the state of the art are intended to contain powders or liquids, and are not specifically designed to enclose and protect ready-to-consume solid tablets. Therefore, the need persists for a solution that reduces the discomfort associated with swallowing tablets and increases adherence to treatment.

[004] The present invention solves this problem by providing a protective capsule that surrounds the tablet, reduces direct contact with the oral mucosa and improves swallowing, and may also have a flavored coating and adapt to different shapes, offering significant technical advantages over the prior art. This solution does not interfere with the composition of the Petition 870260043242, dated 07 / 05 / 2026, page 3 / 9 2 / 3 of the medication acts exclusively as a physical means of protection and facilitation of swallowing. Brief description of the drawings

[005] Figure 1 shows the closed capsule containing a tablet.

[006] Figure 2 shows the empty closed capsule.

[007] Figure 3 shows the open capsule, highlighting its thickness.

[008] Figure 4 shows the open capsule with a tablet in one of the halves. Description of the invention

[009] The invention consists of a protective capsule, preferably made of gelatinous or similar material, sized to hold a whole tablet inside.

[010] The capsule is composed of two complementary parts: body (1) and cap (2), configured to completely enclose the tablet (3), characterized by being a pre-formed solid tablet, preventing direct contact with the oral cavity during swallowing and providing physical protection during ingestion.

[011] The fitting (4) between the parts allows the capsule to be temporarily closed, keeping the tablet protected until it is ingested.

[012] The thickness (5) of the capsule is designed to withstand handling and dissolve properly in the digestive tract.

[013] The capsule may have an outer coating with a mild flavor or aroma, making it easier for the user to accept. Petition 870260043242, dated 07 / 05 / 2026, page 4 / 9 3 / 3

[014] The material used is biocompatible, and may be gelatin, cellulose derivatives or equivalent pharmaceutical polymers.

[015] The capsule can be adapted to different tablet sizes and shapes, ensuring versatility of use. Examples of embodiments of the invention

[016] In a preferred embodiment, the capsule has an outer coating with a mild flavor.

[017] In another embodiment, the capsule is of the gastro-resistant type.

[018] Alternatively, the capsule can be transparent or semi-transparent.

[019] In another form, the capsule has dimensions that are adaptable to different tablets. Petition 870260043242, dated 07 / 05 / 2026, p. 5 / 9

Claims

1 / 1 CLAIMS 1. Protective capsule for tablets, characterized by being constituted of a body (1) and a cap (2) that enclose a tablet (3), the body (1) having a fitting portion of reduced diameter configured to be inserted by telescopic overlap inside the cap (2), promoting closure by mechanical friction between the two parts.

2. Capsule, according to claim 1, characterized by having partial transparency, located in at least one region of the body (1) or the cap (2), allowing visualization of the tablet (3) inside.

3. Capsule, according to any of the preceding claims, characterized by having a flavored coating.

4. Capsule, according to any of the preceding claims, characterized by biocompatible material.

5. Capsule, according to any of the preceding claims, characterized by gastric dissolution.

6. Capsule, according to any of the preceding claims, characterized by mechanical fitting.

7. Capsule, according to any of the preceding claims, characterized by adaptability to formats.

8. Capsule, according to claim 1, characterized in that, in an alternative embodiment to that of claim 5, the biocompatible material is a cellulose derivative with gastro-resistant properties, selected from hypromellose phthalate (HPMCP) and cellulose acetate phthalate (CAP), delaying dissolution until intestinal regions.
