Description

1 / 29 POWER CONTROL FOR SIDE LINK TRANSMISSION OF PHYSICAL SIDE LINK FEEDBACK CHANNEL TECHNICAL FIELD:

[0001] Some exemplary embodiments may refer, in general, to mobile or wireless telecommunications systems, such as Long Term Evolution (LTE) of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), 5th generation (5G) radio access technology (RAT), 6th generation (6G) new radio access (NR) technology, and / or other communications systems. For example, certain exemplary embodiments may refer to systems and / or methods for determining the transmission power for a common interleaving and resource blocks (RBs). BACKGROUND:

A 5G system is typically built on a 5G NR, but a 5G (or NG) network can also be built on E-UTRAN radio. NR is expected to support service categories such as enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC), and massive machine-type communication (mMTC). NR is expected to deliver extreme broadband, ultra-robust low-latency connectivity, and massive networking to support the Internet of Things (IoT).The next-generation radio access network (NGRAN) represents the radio access network (RAN) for 5G, which can provide radio access for NR, LTE, and LTE-A. It is noted that nodes in 5G that provide radio access functionality to a user equipment (UE) (e.g., similar to Node B in UTRAN or Evolved Node B (eNB) in LTE) may be referred to as Next-Generation Node B (gNB) when built on NR radio and may be referred to as Next-Generation eNB. [0033] It will be readily understood that the components of certain exemplary embodiments, as described and illustrated generally in the figures in this document, can be arranged and designed in a wide variety of different configurations. Thus, the following detailed description of some exemplary embodiments of systems, methods, apparatus, and products of Petition 870250090244, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 18 / 170 7 / 29 computer program for determining transmission power for a common interleaving and RBs is not intended to limit the scope of certain exemplary modes, but rather is representative of selected exemplary modes.

[0034] Enhancements to side link (SL) operations in 3GPP may include support for SL in unlicensed spectrum for both mode 1 and mode 2 where Uu operation for mode 1 may be limited to licensed spectrum only. NR-U channel access mechanisms may be reused for unlicensed SL (SL-U) operations; this may assess the applicability of SL resource reservation operations for SL-U within the boundaries of operations and unlicensed channel access mechanism.

[0035] The physical channel design structure may include changes to NR SL physical channel procedures and structures to operate in unlicensed spectrum; for example, an existing NR-U and NR SL channel structure may be reused as the baseline.

[0036] In unlicensed sub-7 GHz bands, the coexistence of NR with other systems (e.g., Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11) may be possible with a listen-before-talk (LBT) channel access mechanism, whereby an UE intending to perform an SL transmission may first be required to successfully complete an LBT check before initiating transmission. For an UE to pass an LBT check, the UE may first need to observe the available channel for several consecutive free channel assessment (CCA) slots; in sub-7 GHz, the duration of these slots is 9 μs. The UE may consider the channel as available in a CCA slot if the measured power (i.e., the energy collected during the CCA slot) is below a specified regulatory threshold that may depend on the operating band and geographic region. When an UE initiates communication (i.e., acting as an initiating device), the UE can acquire the “right” to access the channel for a certain period of time (i.e., channel occupation time (COT)) by applying an “extended” LBT procedure where the channel can be considered free for the entire duration of a contention window (CW). This “extended” LBT procedure can be referred to as Type 1. Petition 870250090244, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 19 / 170 8 / 29 LBT, as illustrated in FIG. 1.

[0037] The duration of COT and CW may depend on a channel access priority class (CAPC) associated with UE traffic, as in Table 1 below. Control plane traffic (e.g., side link control physical channel (PSCCH)) may be transmitted with p = 1, while user plane traffic may be p > 1. Table 1 provides details of LBT type 1 for the uplink (UL) case Uu; however, downlink (DL) case LBT type 1 parameters may also be adopted in SL. CAPC (p) mp vm\n,p £WmáX, T . . 1 ulmcot,p Allowed CWP sizes 1 2 3 7 2 ms {3,7} 2 2 7 15 4 ms {7,15} 3 3 15 1023 6 ms or 10 ms {15,31,63,127,255,51 1,1023} 4 7 15 1023 6 ms or 10 ms {15,31,63,127,255,51 1,1023} Table 1: CAPC for UL

[0038] After successfully completing Type 1 LBT and performing a transmission, the UE initiating the transmission (such as the initiating device) can acquire COT with a duration associated with the corresponding CAPC. The acquired COT can be valid even when the initiating device pauses its transmission. However, if the initiating device wants to perform a new transmission (e.g., within the COT), the initiating device can still be prompted to perform a “reduced” LBT procedure (e.g., “Type 2 LBT”). For example, Type 2A LBT (i.e., 25 μs LBT), as illustrated in FIGS. 2(c) and (f), can be used for SL transmissions within the COT acquired by the initiating device when the gap between two SL transmissions is > 25 μs, as well as for SL transmissions following another SL transmission. In another example, FIGS.Figures 2(b) and (e) illustrate Type 2B LBT (i.e., 16 μs LBT) which can be used for SL transmissions within the COT acquired by the initiating device, and can only be used for. Petition 870250090244, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, p. 20 / 170 9 / 29 SL transmissions following another SL with a gap exactly equal to 16 μs. In a further example, Type 2C LBT (i.e., no LBT) (illustrated in FIGS. 2(a) and (d)) can only be used for SL transmission following another SL, with a gap < 16 μs, and the allowed duration of the SL transmission < 584 μs.

[0039] An initiating device can share its acquired COT with its intended receiver (i.e., the responding device). As illustrated in FIG. 3, the initiating device can notify (e.g., via control signaling) the responding device of the duration of this COT. The responding device can then use this information to decide which type of LBT to apply when performing a transmission for which the intended receiving device is the initiating device. If the responding device's transmission goes outside the COT, the responding device can acquire a new COT using LBT Type 1 with the appropriate CAPC.

[0040] In 3GPP Rel-16, NR SL can facilitate a UE communicating with another neighboring UE via direct / SL communication. Two resource allocation modes can be used (i.e., NR SL mode 1 and NR SL mode 2), and an SL transmitting (TX) UE can be configured with one of them to perform NR SL transmissions. In NR SL mode 1, an SL transmission resource can be assigned (scheduled) by the network to the SL TX UE, as shown in FIG. 4(a). Conversely, an SL TX UE in NR SL mode 2 can autonomously select its SL transmission resources, as shown in FIG. 4(b). In NR SL mode 1, where the base station is responsible for SL resource allocation, configuration and operation can be similar to those of the Uu interface.

[0041] In NR SL mode 2, SL UEs can autonomously perform resource selection with the aid of a detection procedure. Specifically, an SL TX UE in NR SL mode 2 can first perform a detection procedure on the configured SL transmission resource pools to determine the reserved resources of another neighboring SL TX UE. Based on the data obtained from the detection, the SL TX UE can then select resources from the available SL resources. For Petition 870250090244, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 21 / 170 10 / 29 that an SL UE performs detection and obtains the necessary information to receive an SL transmission, the SL UE may need to decode the SL control information (SCI).

[0042] SCI associated with a data transmission may include 1st stage SCI and 2nd stage SCI. In general, SCI may follow a 2nd stage SCI structure to support the size difference between SCIs for various types of vehicle-to-all (V2X) NR SL services (e.g., broadcast, groupcast, and unicast). The 1st stage SCI (i.e., SCI format 1-A) may be ported by PSCCH, and may contain information to enable sensing operations and / or information necessary to determine resource allocation of the shared physical side link channel (PSSCH) and to decode 2nd stage SCI.A 2nd stage SCI (i.e., SCI format 2-A and 2-B) can be ported by PSSCH (e.g., channel-shared multiplexed with SL (SCH)), and can contain source and destination identities, information to identify and decode the associated SL-SCH transport block (TB), unicast / groupcast hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback control, and / or trigger for unicast channel state information (CSI) feedback.

[0043] The configuration of resources in the SL resource pool can define the minimum information required for a UE RX to be able to decode a transmission, which may include the number of subchannels, the number of physical resource blocks (PRBs) per subchannel, the number of symbols in the PSCCH, which slots have a physical side link feedback channel (PSFCH), and / or other configuration aspects. However, data for actual SL transmission (i.e., the payload) can be provided in the PSCCH (i.e., 1st stage SCI) for each individual transmission, which may include timing and frequency resources, the PSSCH demodulation reference signal (DMRS) configuration, the modulation and coding scheme (MCS), PSFCH, and / or others. FIG. Figure 5 shows an example of the SL slot structure, illustrated as a slot with PSCCH / PSSCH and a slot with PSCCH / PSSCH where the latter symbols are used for PSFCH.

[0044] The PSCCH configuration (e.g., DMRS, MCS, number of Petition 870250090244, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 22 / 170 11 / 29 symbols used) may be part of the resource pool configuration. Additionally, indicating which slots have PSCCH symbols may also be part of the resource pool configuration. However, the PSCCH configuration (e.g., the number of symbols used, the DMRS pattern, and the MCS) may be provided by the 1st stage SCI, which may be the payload sent within the PSCCH, and may follow the configuration shown in Table 2 below. ld in symbols _~ . _ -___— DMRS Position / 2-Symbol PSCCH Duration 3-Symbol PSCCH Duration Number of DMRS Number of DMRS 2 3 4 2 3 4 6 1.5 - 1.5 7 1.5 - 1.5 8 1.5 - 1.5 9 3.8 1.4.7 - 4.8 1.4.7 10 3.8 1.4.7 - 4.8 1.4.7 11 3.10 1.5.9 1.4.7, 10 4.10 1.5.9 1.4.7, 10 12 3.10 1.5.9 1.4.7, 10 4. 10 1, 5, 9 1, 4, 7, 10 13 3, 10 1, 6, 11 1, 4, 7, 10 4, 10 1, 6, 11 1, 4, 7, 10 Table 2: DMRS settings for PSCCH based on the number of symbols and duration used for PSCCH.

[0045] 3GPP Rel-16 introduced PSFCH to enable HARQ feedback by the SL of a UE that is the intended recipient of a PSSCH transmission (i.e., the UE RX) to the UE that performed the transmission (i.e., the UE TX). Within a PSFCH, a Zadoff-Chu sequence in a PRB can be repeated by two orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols, the first of which can be used for automatic gain control (AGC). Petition 870250090244, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, p. 23 / 170 12 / 29 near the end of the SL feature in a slot. An exemplary slot format of PSCCH, PSSCH, and PSFCH is shown in FIG. 7; the Zadoff-Chu sequence, when used as a base sequence, can be preconfigured by SL feature pool.

[0046] The timing resources for PSFCH can be pre-configured to occur once every 0, 1, 2, or 4 slots. The HARQ feedback resource (i.e., PSFCH) can be derived from the PSCCH / PSSCH resource location. Configuration parameter K with slot unit can be used for PSSCH to HARQ timing. The timing occasion for PSFCH can be determined from K. For a PSSCH transmission with its last symbol in slot n, HARQ feedback can be in slot n+a, where a can be the smallest integer greater than or equal to K, provided that slot n+a contains PSFCH resources. The timing gap of at least K slots can allow consideration of UE RX processing delay when decoding PSCCH and generating HARQ feedback. K can be equal to 2 or 3, and a single value of K can be pre-configured per resource pool. This can allow multiple UE RXs using the same resource pool to utilize the same PSFCH resource mapping for HARQ feedback. With the K parameter, the N PSSCH slots associated with a slot with PSFCH can be determined.

[0047] As in the example shown in FIG. 7, the PSFCH resource period can be set to N=4 (i.e., 4 PSSCH slots associated with PSFCH), and K (e.g., sl-MinTimeGapPSFCH) can be set to 2. With L subchannels in a resource pool, and N PSSCH slots associated with a slot containing PSFCH, there can then be / V*L subchannels associated with a PSFCH symbol. With M PRBs available for PSFCH on a PSFCH symbol, there can be M PRBs available for HARQ feedback from transmissions over N * L subchannels.

[0048] With M configured to be a multiple of N*L, a distinct set of Mset = M / (N * L) PRBs can be associated with HARQ feedback for each subchannel within a PSFCH period. The first set of Mset PRBs among the M PRBs available for PSFCH can be associated with HARQ feedback from a transmission on the first subchannel in the first slot. The second Petition 870250090244, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, p. 24 / 170 13 / 29 A set of Mset PRBs can be associated with the HARQ feedback of a transmission in the first subchannel in the second slot, and so on. This is illustrated in FIG. 8 with N = 4, L = 3, and with all PRBs in a PSFCH symbol available for PSFCH. The HARQ feedback for a transmission in PSSCH x can be sent in the set x of Mset PRBs in the corresponding PSFCH symbol, with x = 1,..., 12.

[0049] A set of Mset PRBs associated with a subchannel can be shared among multiple UEs RXs in the case of acknowledgment (ACK) / negative acknowledgment (NACK) feedback for groupcast communications (option 2) or in the case of different PSSCH transmissions on the same subchannel. For each PRB available for PSFCH, there can be Q cyclic bypass pairs available to support ACK or NACK feedback from Q UEs RXs within the PRB. For a resource pool, the number of cyclic bypass pairs Q can be pre-configured and can be equal to 1, 2, 3, or 6.

[0050] The number F of available PSFCH resources can be computed, relative to the cyclic shift (CS) of a sequence (e.g., Zadoff-Chu sequence), to support the HARQ feedback of a given transmission (e.g., Rpi&Ccs). With each PSFCH resource used by an RX UE, available PSFCH resources can be used for the ACK / NACK feedback of up to RX UEs.

[0051] The F PSFCH resources available for multiplexing HARQ feedback to the PSSCH can be determined based on two options. First, based on the L PSSCH subchannels used by a PSSCH, F can be computed as F= L PSSCH * Mset * Q PSFCHs (associated with the L PSSCH subchannels of a PSSCH), with L PSSCH subchannels of a PSSCH, Mset PRBs for PSFCH associated with each subchannel, and Q cyclic bypass pairs available in each PRB. Second, F resources of PSFCH can be determined based solely on the initial subchannel used by a PSSCH (i.e., based solely on one subchannel for the case of L PSSCH>1), according to F = Mset * Q PSFCHs (associated with the initial subchannel of a PSSCH), with Mset PRBs for PSFCH associated with each subchannel, and Q cyclic shift pairs available in each PRB. Similarly to PUCCH in Uu of NR of Rel Petition 870250090244, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, p. 25 / 170 14 / 29 of 3GPP, the available PSFCH resources can be indexed based on a PRB index (i.e., frequency domain) and a cyclic deviation pair index (i.e., code domain).

[0052] The mapping of the PSFCH index i ( / =1,2,...,F) to the PRBs and to the Q cyclic bypass pairs can be such that the PSFCH index i first increases with the PRB index until it reaches the number of PRBs available for PSFCH. The PSFCH index i can then increase with the cyclic bypass pair index, again with the PRB index, and so on. Among the F PSFCHs available for HARQ feedback of a given transmission, a UE RX can select, for its HARQ feedback, the PSFCH with index i given by i = (TID+ RID)mod F, where TID is the Layer 1 ID of the UE TX (indicated in the 2nd stage SCI). RID= 0 for unicast ACK / NACK feedback and groupcast NACK-only feedback (i.e., option 1).

[0053] For groupcast ACK / NACK feedback (i.e., option 2), RID can be equal to the RX UE identifier within the group, which can be indicated by higher layers. For a number X of RX UEs within a group, the RX UE identifier can be an integer between 0 and X-1. An RX UE can determine which PRB and cyclic bypass pair should be used to send its HARQ feedback based on the PSFCH index i. The RX UE can use the first or second cyclic bypass of the cyclic bypass pair associated with the selected PSFCH index i to send NACK or ACK, respectively. For UEs RXs that select PSFCHs with index í, the UE TX can distinguish HARQ feedback from different UE(s) RX (via the UE RX identifier, for example, for groupcast option 2), and HARQ feedback destined for the UE TX (via the UE TX Layer 1 ID, for example, for unicast).Since RID= 0 for groupcast option 1, UEs RXs can select the same PSFCH i index for their NACK-only feedback based solely on the Layer 1 TID UE TX identifier.

[0054] PSFCH can be transmitted in response to receiving a PSCCH / PSSCH transmission (e.g., when the receiver is the intended receiver) and therefore can be an associated PSFCH power control procedure. The UE can perform multiple PSFCH transmissions in Petition 870250090244, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, p. 26 / 170 15 / 29 same slot, and each can be a narrowband transmission.

[0055] Regarding PSFCH power control procedure, as discussed below, when the UE operates under network coverage, and dl-PO-PSFCH is provided, power control can be towards the service cell, and can be based on the number of PSFCH transmissions in the same slot rather than the power required towards the intended receiver. When the UE operates outside network coverage or dl-PO-PSFCH is not provided (e.g., SL resource pooling occurs on resources not shared with Uu UL), power control can only depend on the number of PSFCH transmissions in the same slot, and may not be limited by path loss to gNB and interference related to UL reception on gNB. Thus, if the UE only needs to perform one PSFCH transmission and no dl-PO-PSFCH is provided (i.e., no need for power control towards the service cell), the UE can apply maximum transmission power given by Pcmáx.

[0056] NR in unlicensed spectrum is limited to bands below 7 GHz. In this frequency range, certain spectrum requirements may exist for the design of UL physical channels, for example, this occupied channel bandwidth (OCB) must be between 80% and 100% of the declared nominal channel bandwidth. The OCB may be the bandwidth that contains 99% of the signal power. During a COT, equipment may temporarily operate with an OCB of less than 80% of its nominal channel bandwidth with a minimum of 2 MHz. Maximum power spectral density (PSD) requirements may have a resolution bandwidth of 1 MHz, and require a maximum PSD of 10 dBm / MHz for 5150-5350 MHz. A 10 kHz resolution may be required to test the 1 MHz PSD restriction; therefore, the maximum PSD restriction may be met in any occupied 1 MHz bandwidth. In addition, a specific total maximum transmission power per band may be required, such as an equivalent isotropically radiated power (EIRP) limit of 23 dBm for 5150–5350 MHz.

[0057] Limitations in terms of OCB and PSD may affect design choices for UL channels of unlicensed NR systems, such as an interleaved frequency division multiplexing (FDM) scheme shown in FIG. 8. Petition 870250090244, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 27 / 170 16 / 29 In this interleaved FDM (e.g., UL resource allocation type 2), UL resources can be allocated in interleavings of 10 equidistant PRBs. The number of interleavings can be 10 for 15 kHz subcarrier spacing (SCS), and 5 for 30 kHz SCS.

[0058] HARQ feedback can be transmitted by PSFCH in response to receiving a PSCCH / PSSCH transmission when the receiver is the intended receiver. The required transmission power can be calculated according to the PSFCH power control procedure as described above. However, similar to all transmissions in n46 (i.e., 5200 MHz), n96 (i.e., 6000 MHz), and n102 (i.e., 6200 MHz) bands, PSFCH transmission can also comply with OCB and PSD regulations, as discussed above.

[0059] Several options can affect PSFCH transmission with 15 kHz and 30 kHz SCS. For example, a first option may require each PSFCH transmission to occupy 1 common interleave and dedicated K3 PRBs, which can solve the problem that arises with PSFCH when applying interleaved FDM in SL-U to meet OCB and PSD requirements. This technique can use a common interface (e.g., secondary PSFCH interface as illustrated in FIG. 10) with any information to meet OCB requirements, and transmit HARQ feedback on a dedicated RB (e.g., “Primary PSFCH” in FIG. 10). Another may require each PSFCH transmission to occupy 1 interleave and apply PRB level cyclic bypass; a UE can transmit a dedicated cyclic bypass on dedicated K1 PRBs within that interleave, and transmit common cyclic bypass on other PRBs in that interleave.Other options may require each PSFCH transmission to occupy 1 dedicated interleave and / or adopt cyclic PRB level hopping as in NR-U. Additionally, some options may require each PSFCH transmission to occupy dedicated K4 PRBs and common K2 PRBs, where common K2 PRBs are located at both edges of a set of RBs. This technique may be similar to previously mentioned techniques, but instead of transmitting an interleave of common RBs, the common RBs may simply be sent at each edge of the channel (i.e., set of RBs). Petition 870250090244, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 28 / 170 17 / 29 example, as illustrated in FIG. 10, only the highest and lowest red RBs would be transmitted. However, these options do not resolve the impact of PSD limits (e.g., whether / how to operate when common PRB and dedicated PRB are located within the same 1 MHz bandwidth, e.g., discard common PRB or reduce power on common PRB in such a case).

[0060] The fact that each UE uses a common interleave or common RBs, and one or more dedicated RBs for PSFCH transmission, means that the common interleave / RBs can be used by multiple UEs. As a result, the power in such a common interleave can increase linearly with the number of UEs that need to transmit HARQ feedback, while the power of the dedicated RB can be lower. This can result in unnecessary additional interference that could interfere with the operation of other devices in the same spectrum, and also unnecessary increased power consumption. Thus, it is preferable to avoid using more TX power for common interleave / RBs than is necessary. FIG. Figure 10 illustrates an example of a 20 MHz bandwidth with a 15 kHz SCS where interleaving 1 (i.e., RBs 1, 11, 21,..., 91) can be used as common interleaving by 5 UEs, and RBs 4, 15, 83, 94, and 97 can be used as dedicated RBs for each UE. As shown in FIG.10. If each UE transmits its dedicated and shared RBs with the same power, the total power transmitted on the shared RBs can be five times higher than the power on the dedicated RBs. This can cause interference with other UEs in the vicinity and / or can impact the decoding of information transmitted on the dedicated RBs due to a large power imbalance between dedicated and shared RBs.

[0061] Certain exemplary embodiments described in this document may have several benefits and / or advantages to overcome the disadvantages described above. For example, certain exemplary embodiments may satisfy requirements for OCB and PSD to be met, while minimizing power consumption and interference caused by the UE. Thus, certain exemplary embodiments discussed below are directed towards improvements in computer-related technology. Petition 870250090244, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 29 / 170 18 / 29

[0062] As described below, some exemplary embodiments refer to power control enhancements that enable UEs to meet OCB and PSD requirements for PSFCH transmission, while keeping interference caused by transmissions on common interleaving or RBs as low as possible. In this way, interference with other devices and networks operating in the vicinity can be minimized.

[0063] For example, in several exemplary embodiments, a UE may determine, according to SL power control procedures, the TX power applied to the dedicated PSFCH RBs (i.e., TxP_ded). When the UE transmits multiple PSFCHs simultaneously, the TxP_ded of each transmission may be the same as in 3GPP R16 / R17, and / or the TxP_ded of some PSFCHs may be reduced to meet the PSD limit in an unlicensed spectrum.

[0064] Next, the UE can determine the number of common PSFCH RBs that are all non-adjacent (i.e., N_RB_com). Common PSFCH RBs can form an interleave, a partial interleave, and / or be located on the upper and / or lower edge of a set of RBs. Transmission from common PSFCH RBs that are located close to PSFCH RBs (e.g., within 1 MHz) can be omitted.

[0065] The UE can then select the TX power TxP_com for common PSFCH RBs, where at least 99% of the total PSFCH power (i.e., dedicated + common PSFCH RBs) can be allocated to RBs spanning at least 80% of the nominal channel bandwidth. In the case of a 20-MHz channel, the OCB (e.g., bandwidth from the lowest allocated RB to the highest allocated RB) can be at least 16 MHz. If the dedicated PSFCH RB allocation already meets the OCB requirement, TxP_com can be set to zero (i.e., common PSFCH RBs are not transmitted). FIG. 11 shows power allocation for certain exemplary modes with interleaving / common PSFCH RBs. Specifically, TxP_tot is the total transmission power of PSFCH, TxP_ded is the power for the dedicated PSFCH RB, TxP_com_RB is the power of each common PSFCH RB, TxP_com is the total power for common PSFCH RBs, and N_RB_com Petition 870250090244, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, p. 30 / 170 19 / 29 is the number of common RB PSFCHs.

[0066] TxP_com can be calculated in a few different ways. For example, each PSFCH transmission can occupy K4 dedicated PRBs and K2 common PRBs, where K2 common PRBs can be located on both edges of a set of RBs, K4=1, and K2=2 (one RB on each edge of the set of RBs). For a nominal channel BW of 20 MHz, occupied channel BW can be at least 16 MHz (i.e., ceiling(16 MHz / 0.18 MHz) = 89 RBs for 15 kHz SCS), and ceiling(16 MHz / 0.36 MHz) = 45 RBs for 30 kHz SCS.

[0067] After the dedicated RB is transmitted with TxP_ded power level, to meet the OCB requirement, at least 99% of the signal needs to have a bandwidth of 16 MHz. Thus, the power on each of the common RBs (TxP_com) that are located at least 16 RBs away must be more than 1% of the total TX power (i.e., TxP_com > TxP_ded / 0.98 - TxP_ded). Similarly, for a case with a common interleaving of 10 RBs where all common RBs have the same TX power, the TX power of the common RBs can be calculated as xP_com > TxP_ded / 0.90 - TxP_ded. Correspondingly, the total Tx power can be calculated as TxP_tot = TxP_ded + TxP_com = TxP_ded / (1 - 0.01 * N_RB_com). Additionally, a safety margin (e.g., multiplier) can be added to the TxP_com formula to accommodate, for example, RF measurement and inaccuracy. The safety margin can be, for example, a fixed number, such as 3 dB.

[0068] FIG. 12 shows an example with each PSFCH transmission occupying 1 common interleave and K3 dedicated PRBs, with K3=2 dedicated RBs, and an interleave of 10 equidistant common RBs. However, common RB no. 10, which overlaps with a dedicated RB, is not transmitted, leaving a total of 9 common RBs. Therefore, in this scenario, the TX power of common RBs can be calculated as TxP_com > TxP_ded / (1 - 0.01* 9) TxP_ded = TxP_ded / 0.91 - TxP_ded. Consequently, if the dedicated RBs are transmitted with the maximum power allowed by the PSD rule (for example, 10 dBm (i.e., 10 mW)), the power of the dedicated RBs must satisfy, without assuming an additional safety margin: TxP_com > 10 mW / 0.91 - 10 mW = 0.989 mW, ~0 dBm. Petition 870250090244, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, p. 31 / 170 20 / 29

[0069] In several exemplary embodiments, the power reduction that is applied to PSFCH in common interleaving can be used to increase the PSFCH power on the dedicated RB. Specifically, PSFCH power can be divided equally among all PSFCHs transmitted in the same slot. PSFCH power in common interleaving can then be reduced as described in any of the options described above. The PSFCH power on the dedicated RB can then be increased so that the total TX PSFCH power is the same as in the first stage.

[0070] FIG. 13 illustrates an example of a flow diagram of a method that can be performed by a UE, such as UE 1420 illustrated in FIG. 14, according to several exemplary embodiments.

[0071] In 1301, the method may include determining a PSFCH allocation for at least one dedicated PSFCH RB.

[0072] In 1302, the method may additionally include calculating a corresponding TX power from the PSFCH allocation for at least one dedicated PSFCH RB. For example, the power may be calculated following the SL power control procedures.

[0073] In 1303, the method may additionally include determining at least one of a number or allocation of a plurality of common PSFCH RBs. As an example, determining the allocation of common PSFCH RBs may include omitting the transmission of common RBs that are located closer to dedicated PSFCH RBs than a threshold; such a threshold may be defined as, for example, 1 MHz, and / or in terms of the number of RBs. Furthermore, determining the allocation of common PSFCH RBs may include checking whether the PSFCH RB allocation already meets the OCB requirement; as a result, common RBs may not be transmitted.

[0074] In 1304, the method may additionally include calculating the TX power for the plurality of common RBs based on the corresponding TX power calculated in 1302, and the determined number or allocation of the plurality of common PSFCH RBs determined in 1303. For example, the TX power may be calculated according to TxP_com > TxP_ded / (1 - 0.01* N_RB_com) TxP_ded + SafetyMargin. Petition 870250090244, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, p. 32 / 170 21 / 29

[0075] In 1305, the method may additionally include determining whether the calculated total transmission power (TxP_com + TxP_ded) exceeds the UE maximum TX power Pcmáx. If TxP_com + TxP_ded > Pcmáx, but TxP_ded < Pcmáx, the method may include omitting the transmission of common RBs that are not the outermost ones (i.e., those closest to the edges of the channel / RB array). Otherwise, if it is not possible to omit the transmission of common RBs that are not the outermost ones, or sufficiently to reduce the total TX power below Pcmáx, the method may include reducing both TxP_com and TxP_ded by an equal amount until the total power is equal to or less than Pcmáx.

[0076] FIG. 14 illustrates an example of a system according to certain exemplary embodiments. In an exemplary embodiment, a system may include multiple devices, such as, for example, NE 1410 and / or UE 1420.

This definition of circuit assembly applies to all uses of this term in this application, including in any claims. As a further example, as used in this application, the term circuit assembly also covers an implementation of merely a hardware circuit or processor (or multiple processors) or portion of a hardware circuit or processor and its (or its) attached software and / or firmware. The term circuit assembly also covers, for example, and if applicable to the particular claim element, a baseband integrated circuit or processor integrated circuit for a mobile device or a similar integrated circuit in a server, a cellular network device, or other computing or networking device.
