Description
1 / 13 “ELECTRONIC PUNCHING BAG SYSTEM SUPPLIED WITH AN ANCHORING UNIT FIELD OF APPLICATION
[0001] This application falls within the field of electronic punching bags adapted to measure impact parameters caused by a user's blow to the bag. PREVIOUS TECHNIQUE
[0002] Currently, electronic punching bags with built-in measuring units are known that, through sensors such as accelerometers, allow measuring the intensity of the impact produced by a user's blow, among other impact parameters.
[0003] However, a disadvantage of these systems is that the measurements obtained by the sensors are polluted by a noise signal associated with the reaction movements of the punching bag to a blow delivered by the user. In fact, these reaction movements are also captured by the sensors, in the same way as the user's blows, which increases the uncertainty in determining an impact parameter.
[0004] To try to circumvent this problem, current electronic punching bags commonly use a sensory scheme that includes a greater number of sensors, or a specific arrangement for them, that takes into account these harmful reaction movements of the bag, which necessarily requires an increase in the processing capacity needed to determine the desired impact parameters. However, considering only an increase in sensory and processing capacity, it is still not possible to prevent such harmful reaction movements. Petition 870250090306, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 6 / 34 2 / 13 of the impact occurs after a blow from the user, so they will always be present in the reading obtained by the sensors, which can affect the efficiency and accuracy of determining an impact parameter.
[0005] The present solution aims to overcome these problems in an innovative way. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006] Therefore, the object of the present application is an electronic punching bag provided with an anchoring unit designed to restrict the horizontal movements of the bag, produced in reaction to a blow delivered by the user.
[0007] The anchoring unit is composed of the following elements: a base module configured to anchor a first coupling section of the punching bag, a fixing module configured to anchor a second coupling section of the punching bag, and a support bracket coupled to the fixing module, such that said support bracket and the base module are adapted to vertically support the punching bag on at least one first support surface. More particularly, the base module and the fixing module of the anchoring unit are operable to prevent horizontal displacement of the punching bag relative to the first support surface.
[0008] In this way, the reading of impact data performed by the sensors is favored, as they are no longer polluted by the reaction movements of the bag, allowing for improved efficiency and accuracy of the impact parameter data.
[0009] In an advantageous system configuration Petition 870250090306, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 7 / 34 3 / 13 described in this application, the support bracket is a structure designed to directly connect the fastening module to the base module. Alternatively, the support bracket comprises support means adapted to support the system to a second support surface. Said support surface may be parallel or perpendicular to the first support surface.
[0010] Therefore, it provides an adaptation to the conditions of the scenario where the electronic punching bag will be installed, ensuring the restriction of the punching bag's reaction movements, regardless of the installation configurations, in particular, the existing support surfaces.
[0011] In another advantageous embodiment of the system of the present application, it further comprises a processing unit, configured to determine impact parameter data, a video camera unit configured to record a user training session, and a display interface unit adapted to display impact parameter data determined by the processing unit. DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0021] The most general and advantageous system configurations are described in the Application Summary. These configurations are detailed below, in accordance with other advantageous and / or preferential modalities for implementing the developed system.
[0022] The present application refers to an electronic punching bag system.
[0023] The system comprises a punching bag (1) having an elongated body and being arranged along a longitudinal axis, perpendicular to a first support surface (6) which is arranged along a horizontal plane. The system further comprises a sensory unit formed by a plurality of sensors (5) that Petition 870250090306, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 11 / 34 7 / 13 are embedded in different locations within the punching bag (1) and are adapted to measure impact parameter data resulting from a user striking a section of the punching bag's striking surface (1.3).
[0024] In one embodiment, the sensors (5) of the sensory unit are 3D accelerometers and the impact parameter data may be related to the impact force, impact direction and / or impact location.
[0025] The system additionally includes an anchoring unit.
[0026] The anchoring unit comprises a base module (2), a fixing module (3), and a support bracket (4). The base module (2) comprises an anchoring mechanism (2.1) configured to anchor a first coupling section (1.1) of the punching bag (1) to said base module (2). The fixing module (3) comprises an anchoring mechanism (3.1) configured to anchor a second coupling section (1.2) of the punching bag (1) to said fixing module (3), the support bracket (4) being coupled to the fixing module (3). The arrangement between the base module (2) and the support bracket (4) is adapted to vertically support the punching bag (1) at least on the first support surface (6). Additionally, the base module (2) and the fixing module (3) of the anchoring unit are operable to prevent horizontal displacement of the punching bag relative to the first support surface (6).
[0027] In this way, by creating two stabilization points, provided by the base module (2) and the fixing module (3), it is possible to restrict the Petition 870250090306, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 12 / 34 8 / 13 horizontal movements of the punching bag (1) produced in reaction to a blow delivered by the user. Consequently, the reading of impact data performed by the sensors (5) of the sensory unit is favored, as they are no longer contaminated by the reaction movements of the punching bag, allowing for improved efficiency and accuracy of the impact parameter data.
[0028] In another embodiment of the system, the elongated body of the punching bag has a cylindrical shape, being provided with a lower surface and an upper surface, parallel to each other, and joined by a curved surface, defining at least the striking surface section (1.3). More particularly, the first coupling section (1.1) of the punching bag (1) may be on the lower surface of the punching bag (1) and the second coupling section (1.2) of the punching bag (1) may be on the upper surface of the punching bag (1).
[0029] With this particular configuration, not only the regular cylindrical shape that the punching bag (1) has, but also the diametrically opposite arrangement, along the longitudinal plane, of each coupling section (1.1, 1.2) and, consequently, of each stabilization point, allow for more efficient restriction of the reaction movements of the punching bag (1).
[0030] Furthermore, as the stabilization points are arranged at the ends of the punching bag (1), the user's punching surface section (1.3) is not reduced. Additionally, this arrangement of the stabilization points also allows for the creation of adequate resistance to approximate the reaction movement of the bag. Petition 870250090306, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 13 / 34 9 / 13 strikes (1) to an opponent when receiving a strike from the user.
[0031] In another embodiment, the anchoring mechanism (2.1) of the base module (2) is an axial bearing. More particularly, the first coupling section (1.1) of the punching bag (1) is adapted to engage with the axial bearing of the base module. Additionally, the base module (2) comprises a rotating platform layer (2.2) that is fixed to the axial bearing (2.1) and moves integrally with it, and is adapted to provide support to the first coupling surface (1.1) of the punching bag.
[0032] More specifically, the anchoring mechanisms (2.1, 3.1) of the base and fixing modules and the first and second coupling sections (1.1, 1.2) of the punching bag (1) are operable to allow longitudinal rotation of the punching bag (1) in relation to said modules (2, 3). The rotating platform layer (2.2) can be made of metal or wood and is adapted to support the entire weight of the punching bag (1), thus facilitating the user's rotation when necessary, for example, when the punching bag additionally comprises a second section provided with a plurality of mounting points, in addition to the user's striking surface section (1.3), which can be used for strength training exercises.
[0033] In this context, and in another of the system, it further comprises an operable locking mechanism to block the longitudinal rotation of the punching bag (1) in relation to the base module (2) and the fixing module (3). More particularly, the locking mechanism is installed on the base module (2), being adapted to block the rotation of the first coupling section (1.1) of the bag. Petition 870250090306, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 14 / 34 10 / 13 blows in relation to the axial bearing of the base module (2.1), while the user uses the bag (1) during a boxing training session.
[0034] In another embodiment of the system, the base module (2) is made of HDPE plastic (2.3), an extremely impact-resistant and durable material. Additionally, the base module (2) comprises an outer metal sheet (2.4) enclosing the plastic material, thus providing greater robustness to the base body (2), allowing it to have a longer lifespan.
[0035] In another embodiment of the system, the base module (2) comprises a rubber layer (2.6) on its lower surface, providing contact with the first support surface (6). This layer (2.6) is a thick, anti-vibration, and non-slip rubber mat that helps to keep the base module (2) in place. In one embodiment, the rubber layer (2.6) is at least 4 mm thick.
[0036] Additionally, in another embodiment, for a more secure semi-permanent fixation, a double vinyl seam can be applied between the first support surface (6) and the rubber layer (2.6).
[0037] In another embodiment of the system, the anchoring mechanism (3.1) of the fastening module (3) comprises a chassis mounting rubber (3.2) to which a coupling element (3.3) is coupled.
[0038] The coupling element (3.3) is configured to engage the second coupling section (1.2) of the punching bag (1) along a central longitudinal axis of the punching bag (1). More particularly, the coupling element (3.3) is a cover plate. Petition 870250090306, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 15 / 34 11 / 13 circular (3.3.1) with an outer diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the elongated body of the punching bag, and having an edge (3.3.2) with a radial width adapted to be inserted into the second coupling section (1.2) of the punching bag. The second coupling section (1.2) may have a groove shape and be disposed on the upper surface of the punching bag centrally in relation to the central longitudinal axis of the punching bag (1), so that the edge of the circular cover plate (3.3.2) fits into said second coupling section (1.2). In this way, a secure and effective coupling is obtained between the body of the punching bag and the fixing module (3).
[0039] In this way, the chassis mounting rubber (3.2) is positioned on the upper part of the circular cover plate (3.3.1), along the central longitudinal axis of the punching bag (1), allowing flexing movements to the punching bag (1), which, in this way, does not acquire a rigid and fixed posture, in addition to absorbing the vibrations resulting from the impact caused by the user's blow.
[0040] In another embodiment of the system, the support bracket (4) is a structure designed to directly connect the fixing module (3) to the base module (2). More particularly, the structure has a first part whose first end connects to the base module (2) and a second part whose first end connects to the fixing module (3). Second ends of the first and second parts of the structure are then connected to each other so that the first and second parts are arranged to form an acute angle.
[0041] With this configuration, it is possible to create Petition 870250090306, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 16 / 34 12 / 13 two stabilization points with only the punching bag (1) having a support surface (6).
[0042] Alternatively, the support (4) comprises support means adapted to support the system to a second support surface (7).
[0043] In one embodiment, the second support surface (7) is parallel to the first support surface (6).
[0044] In another embodiment, the second support surface (7) is perpendicular to the first support surface (6). In this case, the support (4) may comprise a layer of EVA foam (4.1), at least 4 mm thick. This layer (4.1) comes into contact with the second support surface (7) and allows it to absorb and reduce the vibrations transferred to it (7), resulting from the use of the punching bag (1).
[0045] This effect is exponentially increased if layer (4.1) is used in combination with chassis mounting rubber (3.2).
[0046] Additionally, the outer cover of the support bracket (4) can be made of ABS plastic.
[0047] In another embodiment of the system, the base module (2) comprises at least one load cell (2.5) adapted to measure the weight of the punching bag (1), generating weight data, which are used for the calibration of the system. For this purpose, the base module (2) may comprise a set of six load cells (2.5).
[0048] Additionally, the system further comprises a processing unit, a video camera unit (8) and a display interface unit. Petition 870250090306, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 17 / 34 13 / 13 (9).
[0049] The processing unit is configured to determine impact parameter data based at least on the impact measured by the sensory unit.
[0050] The video camera unit (8) is configured to record a user training session (10), and can be installed on the support stand (4).
[0051] The display interface unit (9) is adapted to display impact parameter data determined by the processing unit, said display interface unit (9) being, for example, an LCD touch screen. Petition 870250090306, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 18 / 34
