Description
Absorbent article and method for manufacturing the same. TECHNICAL FIELD
[001] The present invention relates to an absorbent article and a method for manufacturing the same, particularly an absorbent article that includes an antibacterial liquid containing an antibacterial agent and an organic solvent, and a method for manufacturing the same. BACKGROUND
[002] Absorbent articles are known that include an antibacterial liquid containing an antibacterial agent and an organic solvent. For example, PTL 1 describes an absorbent article sheet that includes a hydrophobic organic antibacterial agent; a hydrophilic and non-volatile organic solvent; and 10% by mass or less of water. PTL 2 describes a method for manufacturing a sheet for an absorbent article that includes a step of spraying a liquid containing a functional material (e.g., an antibacterial agent) and a hydrophilic and non-volatile organic solvent onto a base sheet that has a plurality of pores. [004] PTL 2 Unexamined Japanese Patent Publication (Kokai) No. 2022-114168 SUMMARY Technical Problem
[005] In the PTL 1 absorbent article, when a bodily fluid with a watery content, such as urine or menstrual blood, is poured onto the sheet, the antibacterial liquid (liquid which includes a Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 7 / 67 The 2 / 45 antibacterial agent and an organic solvent) contained in the sheet is mixed with body fluid. However, the antibacterial agent contained in the antibacterial liquid is hydrophobic and therefore, when mixed with body fluid, tends to clump together and crystallize. There is a risk that the crystallized antibacterial agent will not exert a sufficient antibacterial effect due to a reduced contact area with the body fluid.
[006] In the absorbent article of PTL 2, the antibacterial agent contained in the antibacterial liquid, if hydrophilic, has a low probability of crystallizing, even when mixed with a body fluid. However, in PTL 2, from the point of view of the diffusion capacity of the antibacterial liquid, the viscosity of the antibacterial liquid has been reduced to 50 mPa-s. Therefore, the low-viscosity antibacterial liquid can easily diffuse along the surfaces of the fibers of the base sheet, but it also easily moves (or falls) vertically downwards from the fibers due to gravity. If this occurs, the antibacterial liquid may move to a position other than the intended application site, the antibacterial agent that can come into contact with the body fluid is reduced, and there is a risk that an antibacterial effect will not be sufficiently exerted.
[007] An object of the present invention is to provide an absorbent article comprising an antibacterial liquid containing an antibacterial agent and an organic solvent, wherein the crystallization of the antibacterial agent can be hindered even when mixed with a body fluid containing an aqueous content, such as urine or menstrual blood, and the contact of the antibacterial agent with the body fluid can be facilitated; and a method for manufacturing the same. [0017] The present modalities refer to the following aspects. Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, p. 10 / 67 5 / 45 Aspect 1
[0018] An absorbent article comprising: a sheet comprising a plurality of fibers; and an antibacterial liquid applied to the sheet, wherein the antibacterial liquid comprises: an organic and hydrophilic antibacterial agent; and a hydrophilic and non-volatile organic solvent, and the antibacterial liquid has a viscosity at 25 °C of 100 to 12,000 mPa.s.
[0019] In the present absorbent article, the viscosity at 25 °C of the antibacterial liquid comprising a hydrophilic organic antibacterial agent and a non-volatile hydrophilic organic solvent, applied to a sheet containing a plurality of fibers, is 100 to 12,000 mPa.s. By making the antibacterial agent hydrophilic, it can be more easily compatibilized with a body fluid with aqueous content, such as urine or menstrual blood, thus allowing the crystallization of the antibacterial agent to be inhibited. Furthermore, by mixing the antibacterial agent with a non-volatile organic solvent, the volatilization of the organic solvent can become more difficult, thus allowing the crystallization of the antibacterial agent to be further inhibited. Additionally, by increasing the viscosity of the antibacterial liquid (100 mPa.s)(s or more), the displacement of the antibacterial liquid from the intended application site due to gravity can be inhibited, meaning more antibacterial liquid can be retained in the fibers at the intended application site, thus allowing contact between the antibacterial agent and the body fluid to occur more easily. Therefore, in this absorbent article, the crystallization of the antibacterial agent can be hindered, even when mixed with a body fluid with aqueous content, such as urine or menstrual blood, and the antibacterial agent can be more easily brought into contact with the body fluid. For the viscosity of the antibacterial liquid, the maximum limit is not particularly restricted, as long as the application. Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 11 / 67 6 / 45 If this is possible, by setting the viscosity to 12,000 mPa.s or less, any discomfort a user might experience with a high-viscosity antibacterial liquid can be reduced. Aspect 2
[0020] The absorbent article according to Aspect 1, wherein the sheet includes a plurality of intersecting portions, in each of which at least two of the plurality of fibers intersect and the antibacterial liquid includes: an antibacterial portion as an intersection point formed at at least one of the plurality of intersection points; and an elevated antibacterial portion formed so as to rise from a fiber surface at a position in at least one of the plurality of fibers, the position being spaced from the plurality of intersection points.
[0021] In the present absorbent article, the antibacterial liquid includes an antibacterial portion with an intersection point formed at an intersection point of at least two fibers; and an elevated antibacterial portion, formed so as to rise from the fiber surface at a position in at least one fiber, the position being spaced from the intersection point. Thus, the antibacterial liquid, in addition to the antibacterial portions with an intersection point, includes elevated antibacterial portions, formed in each fiber so as to rise from the fiber surface, so that the surface area of the antibacterial liquid that can come into contact with a body fluid can be increased and a greater amount of the antibacterial liquid can be retained in the fibers of the sheet. As a result, the antibacterial agent can be more easily brought into contact with the body fluid. Aspect 3
[0022] An absorbent article comprising: a sheet comprising a plurality of fibers; and an antibacterial liquid applied to the sheet, in Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 12 / 67 7 / 45 that the sheet includes a plurality of intersecting portions, in each of which at least two of the plurality of fibers intersect and the antibacterial liquid includes: an organic and hydrophilic antibacterial agent; and a hydrophilic and non-volatile organic solvent, and further includes: an antibacterial portion as an intersection point formed in at least one of the plurality of intersection points; and an elevated antibacterial portion formed so as to rise from a fiber surface at a position in at least one of the plurality of fibers, the position being spaced from the plurality of intersection points.
[0023] The present absorbent article includes a sheet comprising a plurality of fibers and an antibacterial liquid is applied to the sheet comprising an organic and hydrophilic antibacterial agent and a hydrophilic and non-volatile organic solvent, the antibacterial liquid being constituted of an antibacterial portion as an intersection point formed at an intersection point of at least two fibers; and an elevated antibacterial portion formed so as to rise from the fiber surface at a position on at least one fiber, the position being spaced from the intersection point. By making the antibacterial agent hydrophilic, the antibacterial agent can be more readily compatible with a body fluid that includes an aqueous content, such as urine or menstrual blood, thereby allowing the crystallization of the antibacterial agent to be inhibited.Furthermore, by mixing the antibacterial agent with a non-volatile organic solvent, the volatilization of the organic solvent can become more difficult, thus allowing the crystallization of the antibacterial agent to be further inhibited. In addition, the antibacterial liquid, besides the intersecting antibacterial portions, includes elevated antibacterial portions formed on each fiber so that they rise from the fiber surface, so that the surface area... Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 13 / 67 8 / 45 The surface area of the antibacterial liquid that can come into contact with bodily fluid can be increased, and a greater amount of the antibacterial liquid can be retained in the fibers of the sheet. As a result, the antibacterial agent can come into contact with bodily fluid more easily. Therefore, in the present absorbent article, the crystallization of the antibacterial agent can be hindered, even when mixed with a bodily fluid that contains an aqueous content, such as urine or menstrual blood, and the antibacterial agent can come into contact with bodily fluid more easily. Aspect 4
[0024] The absorbent article according to Aspect 2 or 3, wherein the sheet is an upper sheet of the absorbent article and the raised antibacterial portion is present in greater numbers on a non-skin contact side than on a skin contact side of the upper sheet.
[0025] In the present absorbent article, the antibacterial liquid is applied to an upper sheet and raised antibacterial portions on the non-skin contact side of the upper sheet are present in greater numbers than raised antibacterial portions on the skin contact side. Thus, by applying the antibacterial liquid to the upper sheet, where a body fluid is directly excreted, the antibacterial agent can act more effectively. In this case, by having higher antibacterial portions on the non-skin contact side of the top sheet, when body fluid returns to the top sheet due to rewetting of the absorbent pad, the body fluid comes into contact more easily with the raised antibacterial portions on the non-skin contact side of the top sheet, and thus antibacterial activity can be ensured. By having lower antibacterial portions on the skin contact side of the top sheet, safety can be further enhanced by reducing direct contact of the antibacterial agent with the skin surface. Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 14 / 67 9 / 45 Aspect 5
[0026] The absorbent article according to any one of Aspects 1, 3 and 4 which further includes: an absorbent body located on a non-skin contact side relative to the sheet; a compression groove extending from a skin contact side of the sheet to the non-skin contact side to reach the absorbent body; an antibacterial diffusion portion on the underside formed with the antibacterial liquid which is located on the non-skin contact side relative to the sheet on a underside surface of the compression groove; and an antibacterial diffusion portion on the side surface formed with the antibacterial liquid which is located on an outer side relative to the sheet on a side surface of the compression groove.
[0027] The present absorbent article includes a compression groove that reaches the absorbent body from the skin-contact side of the sheet and includes a diffusion-resistant portion on the lower surface formed with the antibacterial liquid located on the non-skin-contact side relative to the sheet on the lower surface of the compression groove; and a diffusion-resistant portion on the lateral surface formed with the antibacterial liquid located on an outer side relative to the sheet on a lateral surface of the compression groove. In the compression groove, body fluid is collected and channeled in one direction along the compression groove, while diffusing in a direction that intersects the compression groove (direction towards the lower side of the lower surface and towards the outer side of the lateral surface). In this case, the present absorbent article includes an antibacterial diffusion portion on the lower surface and an antibacterial diffusion portion on the lateral surface, formed with the antibacterial liquid, in a direction towards the lower part of the lower surface and in a direction towards the outer part of the lateral surface in which a body fluid is present. Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 15 / 67 10 / 45 diffusion occurs. Therefore, in a region where the collected body fluid has diffused and reached the area, the diffusion-resistant antibacterial portion on the lower surface and the diffusion-resistant antibacterial portion on the lateral surface allow the antibacterial liquid to come into contact with the body fluid more easily. Aspect 6
[0028] The absorbent article according to any of Aspects 1 and 3 to 5, wherein the basis weight of the antibacterial agent is from 0.01 to 1.0 g / m2.
[0029] In this absorbent article, the basis weight of the antibacterial agent is 0.01 to 1.0 g / m2. This absorbent article can exhibit antibacterial activity with a significant difference of 2 or more in the logarithmic value when Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae are used as test bacteria to evaluate antibacterial activity according to JIS L 1902. Due to the basis weight of the antibacterial agent, even when the absorbent article repeatedly absorbs body fluids, the antibacterial agent can maintain its effectiveness. Aspect 7
[0030] The absorbent article according to any of Aspects 1 and 3 to 6, in which the antibacterial liquid does not produce precipitation even when left to stand at 0 °C for 24 hours.
[0031] In the present absorbent article, an antibacterial liquid is used that does not produce precipitation even when left to stand at 0 °C for 24 hours. Therefore, a concentration gradient does not readily occur in the antibacterial liquid itself, and thus crystallization of the antibacterial liquid can be further inhibited, even when left to stand or mixed with a body fluid. Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 16 / 67 11 / 45 Aspect 8
[0032] The absorbent article according to any one of claims 1 and 3 to 7, wherein the mass of a solvent that includes the organic solvent in the antibacterial liquid is greater than or equal to the mass of the antibacterial agent.
[0033] In the present absorbent article, in the antibacterial liquid, the mass of the solvent (example: organic solvent or water) is equal to or greater than the mass of the antibacterial agent. Therefore, chemical stability is increased, allowing the antibacterial liquid and the antibacterial effect to be stably maintained on the fibers after application. In addition, the antibacterial liquid can be applied uniformly. Aspect 9
[0034] A method for manufacturing an absorbent article comprising: a step of applying an antibacterial liquid containing an organic and hydrophilic antibacterial agent and a hydrophilic and non-volatile organic solvent to a sheet comprising a plurality of fibers; and a step of forming an absorbent article using the sheet to which the antibacterial liquid was applied, wherein the antibacterial liquid has a viscosity at 25 °C of 100 to 12000 mPa.s.
[0035] In the method for manufacturing the present absorbent article, by using an organic solvent in the antibacterial liquid to reduce the water content as much as possible (preferably without the use of water), rust and / or corrosion of the manufacturing equipment can be inhibited and the operating rate of the manufacturing equipment can be increased. By making the antibacterial agent hydrophilic, crystallization due to contact with a body fluid can be inhibited. Furthermore, by mixing the antibacterial agent with a non-volatile organic solvent, crystallization of the antibacterial agent due to volatilization of the organic solvent can be inhibited. Additionally, by increasing the viscosity Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 17 / 67 12 / 45 of the antibacterial liquid (100 mPa.s), more antibacterial liquid can be retained in the fibers of the sheet, thus allowing contact between the antibacterial agent and the body fluid to occur more easily. Therefore, in this absorbent article, the crystallization of the antibacterial agent can be hindered, even when mixed with a body fluid with an aqueous content, such as urine or menstrual blood. A sufficient amount of the antibacterial agent can be fixed on the surfaces of the fibers, facilitating contact of the antibacterial agent with the body fluid. As for the viscosity of the antibacterial liquid, the maximum limit is not particularly restricted, as long as application is possible. By setting the viscosity to 12,000 mPa.s or less, any discomfort that the user may feel due to the high viscosity of an antibacterial liquid can be reduced. Aspect 10
[0036] A method for manufacturing an absorbent article comprising: a step of applying an antibacterial liquid containing an organic and hydrophilic antibacterial agent and a hydrophilic and non-volatile organic solvent to a sheet comprising a plurality of fibers; and a step of forming an absorbent article using the sheet to which the antibacterial liquid was applied, wherein the sheet comprises a plurality of intersecting portions, in each of which at least two of the plurality of fibers intersect and the antibacterial liquid comprises: an antibacterial portion as an intersection point formed in at least one of the plurality of intersection points; and an elevated antibacterial portion formed so as to rise from a fiber surface at a position in at least one of the plurality of fibers, the position being spaced from the plurality of intersection points.
[0037] In the method for manufacturing the present absorbent article, when using an organic solvent in the antibacterial liquid to reduce the Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 18 / 67 13 / 45 water as much as possible (preferably without the use of water), rust and / or corrosion of manufacturing equipment can be inhibited and the operating rate of manufacturing equipment can be increased. Additionally, since elevated antibacterial portions formed in each fiber so as to rise from the fiber surface are included, the surface area of the antibacterial liquid that can come into contact with a body fluid can be increased and more antibacterial liquid can be retained in the sheet fibers. As a result, a sufficient amount of the antibacterial agent can be further fixed to the fiber surfaces, and the antibacterial agent can more easily come into contact with bodily fluids. Therefore, in this absorbent article, crystallization of the antibacterial agent can be hindered, even when mixed with a bodily fluid containing an aqueous content, such as urine or menstrual blood. A sufficient amount of the antibacterial agent can be fixed to the fiber surfaces, and the antibacterial agent can more easily come into contact with bodily fluids. Aspect 11
[0038] A method for manufacturing in accordance with Aspect 9 or 10, in which the antibacterial liquid does not produce precipitation even when left to stand at 0 °C for 24 hours.
[0039] In the method for manufacturing an absorbent article, an antibacterial agent is used that does not produce precipitation, even when left to stand at 0 °C for 24 hours. In this way, it is possible Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 19 / 67 14 / 45 further inhibit damage, such as precipitation blockages, in manufacturing equipment, and increase the equipment's operating rate.

In the present embodiments, when the liquid-permeable nonwoven textile fibers are synthetic fibers, hydrophilic fibers that have undergone a hydrophilization treatment are used.
[0046] The components of the absorbent body 4 include absorbent body materials, for example, cellulose fibers and superabsorbent polymers (SAPs). Examples of cellulose fibers include cellulose-based fibers. When the absorbent body 4 includes a core wrap sheet, examples of core wrap sheet components include Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 23 / 67 18 / 45 of liquid-permeable nonwoven textiles, cellulose fiber sheets and composite sheets thereof. The types of nonwoven textiles and cellulose fibers are those described above.
[0047] The basis weights of the top sheet 2 and the diffusion sheet are not particularly limited, provided that the sheets can be used as top sheet 2 and diffusion sheet of the sanitary napkin 1 and include, for example, 5 to 200 g / m2 and preferably 10 to 100 g / m2. The basis weight of the core wrapper sheet is not particularly limited, provided that the sheet can be used as the core wrapper sheet of the sanitary napkin 1 and include, for example, 5 to 100 g / m2 and preferably 10 to 50 g / m2.
[0048] The average fiber diameters (cross-sectional diameter) of the fibers constituting the top sheet 2, the diffusion sheet and the central wrap sheet are not particularly limited, provided that each sheet can be used as the respective sheet of the sanitary napkin 1 described above and includes, for example, 5 to 50 μm, preferably 10 to 40 μm. By adjusting the average fiber diameter to 5 μm or more, the fibers are not excessively thin and the antibacterial liquid 10 cannot easily move (or fall) vertically down the fibers due to gravity. By adjusting the average fiber diameter to 50 μm or less, the fibers are not excessively thick, the surface area of the fibers can be increased and a greater quantity of the antibacterial liquid 10 can be easily retained.
[0049] In the present embodiments, the sanitary napkin 1 includes a plurality of compression grooves 5 that extend from the skin contact side of the top sheet 2 towards the non-skin contact side to reach the absorbent body 4. The compression grooves 5 are located on both outer sides in the width direction W and on both outer sides in the longitudinal direction. Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 24 / 67 19 / 45 dinal L in relation to the contact region of the excretion opening. The compression grooves 5 are formed by compressing the upper sheet 2 and the absorbent body 4 in the direction of thickness T. When a diffusion sheet and / or a core wrap sheet are used, the diffusion sheet and / or the skin contact side of the core wrap sheet are also compressed in the direction of thickness T to form the compression grooves 5. The compression grooves 5 each include a lateral surface portion 5b that constitutes the lateral surface of a compression groove; and a lower surface portion 5a that constitutes the lower surface of the groove.
[0050] In the sanitary napkin 1, a sheet containing a plurality of fibers to which the antibacterial liquid 10 is applied is exemplified in at least one of the top sheet 2, the diffusion sheet and the skin contact side of the central wrap sheet. The antibacterial liquid 10 is applied partially or totally to at least one of these sheets in the flat direction or partially or totally to the same in the thickness direction T, and may be applied to the absorbent body 4, the back sheet 3, the side sheet, the leak-proof barrier sheet or the outer sheet. In the present embodiments, the antibacterial liquid 10 is applied within an application region 7 on the top sheet 2.The application region 7, from the point of view of maintaining antibacterial performance over a wide area, extends, in plan view, from the right edge to the left edge of the absorbent body 4 in the width direction W and from the front edge to the back edge of the top sheet 2 in the longitudinal direction L. However, the application region 7 is not limited to this example and can be defined for any region, depending on the required antibacterial performance. In the present embodiments, the antibacterial liquid 10, from the point of view of inhibiting rewetting and protecting the skin surface, is present in greater quantity. Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 25 / 67 20 / 45 quantity on the non-skin contact side than on the skin contact side of the top sheet 2 in the T-thickness direction. However, the setting in the T-thickness direction is not limited to this example and can be set to any configuration depending on the required antibacterial performance.
[0051] The antibacterial liquid 10 comprises an organic and hydrophilic antibacterial agent; and a hydrophilic and non-volatile organic solvent. Since the organic solvent of the antibacterial liquid 10 is non-volatile, even when the sanitary napkin 1 is manufactured, stored and sold, the evaporation of the organic solvent is small, which allows adequate demonstration of the initially planned antibacterial efficacy. A hydrophilic antibacterial agent refers to an antibacterial agent that dissolves in an amount of 40 g or more relative to 100 g of water at 25 °C in 5 hours. A non-volatile organic solvent refers to an organic solvent that has a vapor pressure of 50 Pa or less at 25 °C. A hydrophilic organic solvent refers to an organic solvent miscible with water in any proportion.
[0052] The antibacterial agent only needs to have organic and hydrophilic properties and an antibacterial function, that is, a function of inhibiting the growth of bacteria, and is not particularly limited. Examples of types of antibacterial agents include cationic antibacterial agents. Examples of cationic antibacterial agents include guanidine-based antibacterial agents, biguanide-based antibacterial agents, and quaternary ammonium salts. Examples of guanidine-based antibacterial agents include polyhexamethylene guanidine (PHMG). Examples of biguanide-based antibacterial agents include polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB), also known as polyaminopropyl biguanide. Examples of quaternary ammonium salts include chloride of Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 26 / 67 21 / 45 benzalkonium and benzethonium chloride. These antibacterial agents can be used independently as one type or can be used in combination with a plurality of types.
[0053] The organic solvent only needs to have hydrophilic and non-volatile properties and be able to dissolve the antibacterial agent, without being particularly limited. Examples of types of organic solvents include glycols and alcohols. Examples of glycols include propylene glycol (PG), dipropylene glycol (DPG), 1,3-butylene glycol (BG), and polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG400). Alcohols include 3-methoxy-3-methyl-1-butanol. These organic solvents can be used independently as one type or can be used in combination with a plurality of types.
[0054] In the present embodiments, in the antibacterial liquid 10, the minimum viscosity limit at 25 °C includes, for example, 100 mPa.s, preferably 120 mPa.s. By adjusting the minimum viscosity limit within this range, the antibacterial liquid 10 can be easily retained stably on the fiber surfaces without moving (or falling) vertically downwards. The maximum limit, from the point of view of ease of application, for example, is 12,000 mPa.s, preferably 10,000 mPa.s. The viscosity of the antibacterial liquid 10 does not have a specific maximum limit, as long as application is possible.
[0055] In the present embodiments, at least the antibacterial liquid 10 applied to a sheet (example: top sheet 2) which includes a plurality of fibers 20 includes an organic and hydrophilic antibacterial agent and a hydrophilic and non-volatile organic solvent, and the viscosity at 25 °C of the antibacterial liquid 10 is from 100 to 12,000 mPa.s. By making the antibacterial agent hydrophilic, it can be more easily made compatible with a body fluid with aqueous content, such as urine or menstrual blood, thus allowing the crystallization of Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 27 / 67 22 / 45 antibacterial agent is inhibited. Furthermore, by mixing the antibacterial agent with a non-volatile organic solvent, the volatilization of the organic solvent can become more difficult, thus allowing the crystallization of the antibacterial agent to be further inhibited. Additionally, by increasing the viscosity of the antibacterial liquid 10 (100 mPa.s or more), the displacement of the antibacterial liquid from the intended application site due to gravity can be inhibited, i.e., a greater amount of the antibacterial liquid 10 can be retained in the fibers at the intended application site, thus facilitating contact between the antibacterial agent and the body fluid. Therefore, in absorbent articles, including sanitary napkin 1 to which the above technique is applied, the crystallization of the antibacterial agent may be hindered, even when mixed with a bodily fluid containing an aqueous content, such as urine or menstrual blood, and the antibacterial agent may more easily come into contact with the bodily fluid. Method 1 for Measuring the Viscosity of Antibacterial Liquid
[0056] When an antibacterial liquid in sufficient quantity is the target for measurement, the viscosity of the antibacterial liquid is measured as follows.
[0057] (1) The following equipment is prepared.
[0058] HAAKE RheoStress 1 (sensor: Cone φ60 mm, angle C60 / 1 of 1°), manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.
[0059] (2) 38 ml of the antibacterial liquid to be measured are added to a container that comes with the equipment and a measuring probe is immersed in the antibacterial liquid.
[0060] (3) Viscosity is measured under the following conditions.
[0061] Temperature of 25 °C, humidity of 50%, shear rate: 10.0 (l / s) Method 2 for Measuring the Viscosity of Antibacterial Liquid
[0062] When an antibacterial liquid adhered to a sheet of a Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 28 / 67 23 / 45 absorbent material is the measurement target, the viscosity of the antibacterial liquid is measured as follows.
[0063] (1) The sheet to which the antibacterial liquid has been applied is cut to a size with a predetermined area (example: 3 cm x 3 cm) to form a sample.
[0064] (2) The sample is dissolved in a predetermined reagent (example: ethanol) and the reagent is analyzed by means of a predetermined analytical method to identify and quantify the solvent and the antibacterial agent in the antibacterial liquid. GC / MS (gas chromatography and mass spectrometry) is used for the solvent of the antibacterial liquid and LC / MS (high-performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry) is used for the antibacterial agent of the antibacterial liquid.
[0065] (3) From the identified and quantified solvent and antibacterial agent, an antibacterial liquid is prepared experimentally.
[0066] (4) The viscosity of the experimentally prepared antibacterial liquid is measured in accordance with Method 1 for Measuring the Viscosity of Antibacterial Liquid described above.
[0067] For example, an antibacterial liquid consisting of the solvent BG and the antibacterial agent PHMB can be identified and quantified as PHMB by LC / MS and can be identified and quantified as BG by GC / MS.
[0068] Figure 3 is an optical microscope image showing an example of an antibacterial liquid on a sanitary napkin 1 according to the embodiments. In the present embodiments, a sheet (in the present embodiments, top sheet 2) to which the antibacterial liquid 10 has been applied includes a plurality of 20x intersection points, at each of which at least two of the fibers 20 that constitute Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, p. 29 / 67 24 / 45 of the fibers intersect. The antibacterial liquid 10 includes an antibacterial portion 10b as an intersection point formed at at least one of the intersection points 20x; and a raised antibacterial portion 10a, formed so as to rise from the surface of a fiber 20 at a position on at least one of the fibers 20, the position being spaced from the plurality of intersection points 20x. The distance between the fibers at a fiber intersection point is 0 to 2 times the fiber diameter (distance between the most adjacent surfaces). The presence or absence of a raised antibacterial portion 10a, as shown in this drawing, can be confirmed with an optical microscope. In the example in this drawing, the cross-sectional diameter of fiber 20 is approximately 20 μm (19.6 μm), while the cross-sectional diameter of the raised antibacterial portion 10a that includes fiber 20 is approximately 70 μm (73.7 μm).Therefore, the raised antibacterial portion 10a rises from the fiber surface 20 by about 25 µm. The antibacterial liquid 10 may partially or completely cover the fiber in the form of layers or may not include a raised antibacterial portion 10a and / or an antibacterial portion as an intersection point 10b.
[0069] As described above, in the present embodiments, at least one antibacterial liquid 10 comprising an organic and hydrophilic antibacterial agent and a hydrophilic and non-volatile organic solvent is applied to a sheet (e.g., top sheet 2) comprising a plurality of fibers 20, wherein the antibacterial liquid 10 includes an antibacterial portion as an intersection point 10b formed at an intersection point 20x of at least two fibers 20; and an elevated antibacterial portion 10a formed so as to rise from a surface of a fiber 20 at a position that is spaced from the intersection point 20x of the fibers 20. By making the antibacterial agent hydrophilic, the antibacterial agent can be more easily compatibilized with a fluid. Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 30 / 67 25 / 45 body fluid that includes an aqueous content, such as urine or menstrual blood, thus allowing the crystallization of the antibacterial agent to be inhibited. Furthermore, by mixing the antibacterial agent with a non-volatile organic solvent, the volatilization of the organic solvent can become more difficult, thus allowing the crystallization of the antibacterial agent to be inhibited even further. In addition, the antibacterial liquid, besides the intersecting antibacterial portions 10b, includes elevated antibacterial portions 10a formed in each fiber 20 so as to rise from the fiber surfaces 20, so that the surface area of the antibacterial liquid 10 that can come into contact with the body fluid can be increased and a greater amount of the antibacterial liquid 10 can be retained in the sheet fibers. As a result, the antibacterial agent can be more easily brought into contact with the body fluid. Therefore, in absorbent articles, including sanitary napkin 1 to which the above technique is applied, crystallization of the antibacterial agent may be difficult, even when mixed with a bodily fluid with an aqueous content, such as urine or menstrual blood, and the antibacterial agent may be more easily placed in contact with the bodily fluid.
[0070] In the present embodiments, the thickness (height with base over the fiber surface 20) of the raised antibacterial portion 10a includes, for example, 0.6 to 5 times the average fiber diameter (cross-sectional diameter) of the fibers 20, preferably 0.6 to 4 times. When the thickness of the raised antibacterial portion 10a is 0.6 times or more the average fiber diameter, the contact area with a body fluid can be increased. When the thickness is 5 times or less the average fiber diameter, the raised antibacterial portion 10a can be prevented from detaching from the fiber surface 20. Since the raised antibacterial portion 10a is deformed or partially displaced after application, its dimensions (thickness and length) Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 31 / 67 26 / 45 are the dimensions at a given moment after a certain period (in the present versions, 65 hours) from application, when the shape stabilizes.
[0071] In other words, the cross-sectional diameter (cross-sectional diameter including fiber 20: at 65 hours after application) of the raised antibacterial portion 10a includes, for example, 1.2 to 6 times the average fiber diameter (cross-sectional diameter) of the fibers 20, preferably being 1.2 to 5 times the cross-sectional diameter. When the cross-sectional diameter of the raised antibacterial portion 10a is 1.2 times or more the average fiber diameter, the contact area with a body fluid can be increased. When the cross-sectional diameter is 6 times or less the average fiber diameter, the raised antibacterial portion 10a can be prevented from detaching from the fiber 20 surface.
[0072] In the present embodiments, the length of the raised antibacterial portion 10a along the extension direction of a fiber 20 includes, for example, approximately the height of the raised antibacterial portion 10a. Specifically, the length of the raised antibacterial portion 10a along the extension of a fiber 20 includes, for example, 1.2 to 6 times the average fiber diameter (cross-sectional diameter) of the fibers 20, preferably being 1.2 to 5 times the average fiber diameter. When the length of the raised antibacterial portion 10a is 1.2 times or more the average fiber diameter, a reliable increase in the contact area with a body fluid can occur. When the length is 6 times or less the average fiber diameter, the raised antibacterial portion 10a can be prevented from detaching from the surface of a fiber 20.
[0073] In the present embodiments, the number of elevated antibacterial portions 10a on the surface of a fiber 20 in plan view is not particularly limited and includes, for example, 1 to 20 per 1000 Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 32 / 67 27 / 45 gm of fiber length 20, preferably 2 to 10. When the number of elevated antibacterial portions 10a is 1 or greater, an increase in the contact area with a body fluid can occur more reliably. When 20 or less, the elevated antibacterial portions 10a can be prevented from coming into contact with each other, integrating and detaching easily. Methods for Measuring Fiber Diameter and Thickness and Transverse Diameter of the Elevated Antibacterial Portion
[0074] The fiber diameter and thickness and cross-sectional diameter of an elevated antibacterial portion are measured as follows.
[0075] (1) A sheet to which an antibacterial liquid has been applied, after a predetermined period of time, is cut to a size of 1 cm x 1 cm to form a sample. The predetermined period of time includes, for example, immediately after application (effectively 0 hours after) and 65 hours after application.
[0076] (2) The sample is placed in a sample stage of an optical microscope (VHX-7000, manufactured by Keyence Corporation) so that the face of the sheet on which the antibacterial liquid was applied is oriented upwards.
[0077] (3) An image of the fibers (which includes antibacterial liquid in the fibers) of the sheet is captured with a magnification of 10 to 100 times.
[0078] (4) In the captured image, the fiber diameter for each of the plurality fibers is measured and the thickness and cross-sectional diameter for the elevated antibacterial portion in each of the plurality fibers are measured.
[0079] (5) Steps (1) to (4) above are performed on three samples and their average values are calculated, thus obtaining the final fiber diameter of a fiber and the final thickness and cross-sectional diameter of a high antibacterial portion. Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 33 / 67 28 / 45
[0080] In the present embodiments, as a preferred aspect, the antibacterial liquid 10 is applied to an upper layer 2 and the raised antibacterial portions 10a on the non-skin contact side of the upper layer 2 are present in greater numbers than the raised antibacterial portions 10a on the skin contact side. Therefore, it can be said that, in general, the antibacterial liquid 10 is applied to the upper layer 2 in such a way that a greater quantity of the antibacterial liquid 10 is present on the non-skin contact side of the upper layer 2 than on the skin contact side.
[0081] The antibacterial liquid 10 is applied to the top layer 2, where a body fluid is directly excreted, thus allowing the antibacterial agent to act more effectively. In this case, since there are more raised antibacterial portions 10a present on the non-skin contact side of the top layer 2, when a body fluid returns to the top layer 2 due to rewetting of the absorbent body 4, the body fluid is easily brought into contact with the raised antibacterial portions 10a on the non-skin contact side of the top layer 2, thus ensuring antibacterial activity. Since there are fewer raised antibacterial portions 10a on the skin contact side of the top layer 2, the direct adhesion of the antibacterial agent to the skin surface is reduced, thus allowing for increased safety. Method for Measuring the Distribution of Elevated Antibacterial Portions in the Thickness Direction
[0082] Regarding the method of measuring the distribution of the antibacterial liquid in the direction of thickness, the measurement is performed as follows.
[0083] (1) A sheet to which the antibacterial liquid has been applied, after a predetermined period of time, is cut to the size of 1 Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 34 / 67 A 29 / 45 cm x 1 cm sample is used to form a sample. The predetermined time period includes, for example, immediately after application (effectively 0 hours after) and 65 hours after application.
[0084] (2) The sample is placed in a sample stage of an optical microscope (VHX-7000, manufactured by Keyence Corporation) so that the cross face of the leaf is oriented upwards.
[0085] (3) An image of the fibers (which includes antibacterial liquid in the fibers) of the sheet is captured with a magnification of 10 to 100 times.
[0086] (4) In the captured image, the number of elevated antibacterial portions in each of the plurality fibers is measured for each half of the skin contact side and half of the non-skin contact side in the direction of the sheet thickness.
[0087] (5) The above steps (1) to (4) are performed on three samples and their average values are calculated by means of which, finally, it is calculated which of the halves on the skin contact side and the half on the non-skin contact side has higher antibacterial portions.
[0088] The minimum limit for the proportion of total antibacterial agent and organic solvent in relation to the antibacterial liquid 10, from the point of view of the antibacterial effect, includes, for example, 90% by mass, preferably 92% by mass and, more preferably, 95% by mass. The maximum limit includes, for example, 100% by mass. The antibacterial liquid 10, in addition to the antibacterial agent and the organic solvent, may also include an additional dissolving agent, exemplified by a small amount of water.
[0089] In the present embodiments, the minimum limit of the proportion of antibacterial agent in relation to the total antibacterial agent and organic solvent also depends on the types of antibacterial agent and organic solvent and, from the point of view of the antibacterial effect, includes, for example, 1% by mass, preferably 2% by mass. The Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 35 / 67 The maximum limit of 30 / 45, from the point of view of dissolution in the organic solvent, includes, for example, 60% by mass, preferably 50% by mass.
[0090] In the present embodiments, in the antibacterial liquid 10, the mass of the solvent (including additional solvents) which includes the organic solvent, from the point of view of dissolving the antibacterial agent in the solvent, is greater than or equal to the mass of the antibacterial agent. The minimum limit of the ratio between solvent and antibacterial liquid 10, from the point of view of dissolving in the solvent, includes, for example, 50% by mass, preferably 60% by mass or more, and more preferably 70% by mass or more. The maximum limit, from the point of view of the antibacterial effect, includes, for example, 99% by mass, preferably 98% by mass.
[0091] In antibacterial liquid 10, the mass of the solvent (example: The mass of the antibacterial agent (organic solvent or water) is equivalent to or greater than the mass of the antibacterial agent. Therefore, the chemical stability of the antibacterial liquid 10 can be increased, and as a result, the antibacterial liquid 10 can be applied uniformly to the sheet. Furthermore, in the antibacterial liquid 10, after application to the fibers 20, the separation of the antibacterial agent can be inhibited by evaporation of the solvent, and the antibacterial effect can be maintained stably. Method for Measuring the Composition of Antibacterial Liquid
[0092] When an antibacterial liquid adhered to a sheet of an absorbent article is the target of measurement, the composition of the antibacterial liquid is measured according to steps (1) and (2) of the Antibacterial Liquid Viscosity Measurement Method 2 above.
[0093] The basis weight of the antibacterial agent can be suitably adjusted according to the antibacterial performance required for the sanitary napkin 1. In the present embodiments, the basis weight of the antibacterial agent is adjusted in order to obtain a performance Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 36 / 67 31 / 45 predetermined antibacterial based on JIS L 1902: Textiles — Determination of Antibacterial Activity and Efficacy of Textile Products. The predetermined antibacterial performance exhibits antibacterial activity with a significant difference of 2 or more in logarithmic value when Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae are used as test bacteria to evaluate antibacterial activity in an antibacterial activity test method. The basis weight of the antibacterial agent ranges from 0.01 to 1.0 g / m2 and is preferably 0.02 to 0.8 g / m2. In this case, the basis weight of the antibacterial liquid ranges from 0.1 to 50.0 g / m2, preferably from 0.3 to 40 g / m2.
[0094] By defining the basis weight of the antibacterial agent within the range described above, when Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae are used as test bacteria to evaluate antibacterial activity, the antibacterial activity may be exhibited with a significant difference of 2 or more in logarithmic value according to JIS L 1902: Textiles — Determination of Antibacterial Activity and Efficacy of Textile Products. According to this basis weight of the antibacterial agent, even when the absorbent article absorbs body fluids repeatedly, the antibacterial agent can maintain its effectiveness. Method for Measuring the Grammage of the Antibacterial Agent
[0095] The basis weight of an antibacterial agent adhered to a sheet of an absorbent article is measured as follows.
[0096] Steps (1) and (2) are the same as steps (1) and (2) of the Antibacterial Liquid Viscosity Measurement Method 2 above.
[0097] (3) The grammage of the antibacterial agent is calculated by dividing the mass of the antibacterial agent determined in step (2) above by a predetermined area of the sample. Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 37 / 67 32 / 45
[0098] In the present embodiments, an antibacterial liquid 10 is used that does not produce precipitation, even when left to stand at 0 °C for 24 hours. Thus, since the chemical stability of the antibacterial liquid 10 is high, a concentration gradient does not easily occur in the antibacterial liquid 10 itself, and therefore, the crystallization of the antibacterial agent in the antibacterial liquid 10 can be further inhibited, even when left to stand or mixed with a body fluid. Method for Measuring the Presence or Absence of Antibacterial Agent Precipitation in Antibacterial Liquid When Left to Stand at 0 °C for 24 Hours
[0099] The presence or absence of precipitation of the antibacterial agent in the antibacterial liquid when left to stand at 0 °C for 24 hours is measured as follows.
[00100] (1) The antibacterial liquid is prepared in a predetermined quantity (example: 5 g) and loaded into a Petri dish.
[00101] (2) The Petri dish containing the antibacterial liquid is left to stand at 0 °C and 50% humidity for 24 hours and then visually observed to confirm whether the antibacterial agent has separated and precipitated in the antibacterial liquid.
[00102] In the present embodiments, an antibacterial liquid 10 is used in which the antibacterial agent does not separate, even when water with twice the mass is added at 25 °C. In this way, the chemical stability of the antibacterial liquid 10 is high and, therefore, the crystallization of the antibacterial agent in the antibacterial liquid 10 can be further inhibited, even when mixed with a body fluid. Method for Measuring the Presence or Absence of Separation of Antibacterial Agent in Antibacterial Liquid When Water Is Dripped
[00103] The presence or absence of separation of the antibacterial agent in the antibacterial liquid when water is dripped is measured by Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 38 / 67 33 / 45 following the pattern.
[00104] (1) The antibacterial liquid is prepared in a predetermined quantity (example: 5 g) and loaded into a Petri dish.
[00105] (2) At 25 °C, water with twice the mass (example: 10 g) of the antibacterial liquid is placed in the antibacterial liquid in the Petri dish and then visually observed to confirm whether or not the antibacterial agent is separated in the antibacterial liquid.
[00106] In the present embodiments, as shown in Figure 2, a preferred aspect further includes a diffusion antibacterial portion on the lower surface 50a formed with the antibacterial liquid 10 located on the non-skin contact side relative to the upper sheet 2 (or diffusion sheet) in a portion of the lower surface 5a of a compression groove 5; and a diffusion antibacterial portion on the lateral surface 50b formed with the antibacterial liquid 10 located on an outer side relative to the upper sheet 2 in a portion of the lateral surface 5b of a compression groove 5.
[00107] In other words, when the antibacterial liquid 10 is applied to the top sheet 2, the diffusion-resistant portion on the bottom surface 50a is located on the diffusion sheet (if present) and / or the absorbent body 4 on the non-skin contact side relative to the top sheet 2 in the bottom surface portion 5a of the compression groove 5. The diffusion-resistant portion on the bottom surface 50a has a similar configuration to the raised antibacterial portion 10a and the antibacterial portion as an intersection point 10b, but may be formed so as to thinly cover a fiber in the form of layers. Similarly, the diffusion-resistant portion on the side surface 50b is located on a side surface portion 5b of the compression groove 5, on the side of the diffusion sheet (if present) and / or the absorbent body 4 opposite the groove relative to the top sheet 2. A Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 39 / 67 The diffusion-resistant antibacterial portion on the lower surface 50b has a configuration similar to that of the raised antibacterial portion 10a and the antibacterial portion as an intersection point 10b, but can be formed so as to thinly cover a fiber in the form of layers. The diffusion-resistant antibacterial portion on the lower surface 50a and the diffusion-resistant antibacterial portion on the lateral surface 50b are formed by the antibacterial liquid 10 in the upper sheet 2 located on the lower surface portion 5a and the lateral surface portion 5b, being pushed outward, displaced and diffused by virtue of compression.
[00108] In the compression groove 5, a body fluid is collected and channeled in one direction along the compression groove 5, while diffusing in a direction that intersects the compression groove 5 (direction towards the bottom of the lower surface portion 5a and towards the outside of the side surface portion 5b). In this case, as described above, the present absorbent article (in the present embodiments, hygienic absorbent 1) includes an antibacterial diffusion portion on the lower surface 50a and an antibacterial diffusion portion on the side surface 50b formed with the antibacterial liquid 10 towards the bottom of the lower surface portion 5a and towards the outside of the side surface portion 5b, in which a body fluid diffuses. Therefore, in a region where the collected body fluid has been diffused and reached, the diffusion-resistant antibacterial portion on the lower surface 50a and the diffusion-resistant antibacterial portion on the lateral surface 50b allow the antibacterial agent to come into contact with the body fluid more easily.
[00109] A method for manufacturing an absorbent article according to the present embodiments will be described. The present manufacturing method includes a step of applying an antibacterial liquid 10 which includes an organic and hydrophilic antibacterial agent and a solvent. Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 40 / 67 35 / 45 hydrophilic and non-volatile organic liquid to a sheet (in the present embodiments, the top sheet 2) containing a plurality of fibers; and a step of forming an absorbent article (in the present embodiments, the sanitary napkin 1) using the sheet to which the antibacterial liquid has been applied.
[00110] For example, in the method for manufacturing the sanitary napkin 1 of the present embodiments described above, the antibacterial liquid 10 is first applied to the non-skin contact side of a top sheet 2 by means of a non-contact application method (e.g., spraying the antibacterial liquid onto the top sheet 2 with a spray device) or a contact application method (e.g., discharging the antibacterial liquid onto the top sheet 2 from a nozzle). The top sheet 2 and an absorbent body 4 are then joined by any joining means (e.g., hot-melt adhesive) to obtain a laminate. Predetermined portions of the laminate are then compressed in the thickness direction T from the side of the top sheet 2 to form a compression groove 5.A back sheet 3 is then joined by any joining means (e.g., hot-melt adhesive) to the surface of the absorbent body side 4 of the laminate in which the compression groove 5 was formed. As a result, the sanitary absorbent 1 described above can be manufactured.
[00111] In the present embodiments, the antibacterial liquid 10 can be configured to have a viscosity at 25 °C of 100 to 12,000 mPa.s. In the antibacterial liquid 10, the mass of water is less than the combined mass of the antibacterial agent and the organic solvent.
[00112] In the method for manufacturing the present absorbent article (in the present embodiments, hygienic absorbent 1), when using an organic solvent in the antibacterial liquid 10 to reduce the water as much as possible (preferably without using it), rust and / or corrosion of Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 41 / 67 36 / 45 manufacturing equipment can be inhibited and the operating rate of the manufacturing equipment can be increased. Additionally, by increasing the viscosity of the antibacterial liquid (100 mPa.s), more antibacterial liquid 10 can be retained in the fibers 20 of the sheet (in the present embodiments, top sheet 2), thus allowing contact between the antibacterial agent and the body fluid to occur more easily. Therefore, in the present absorbent article, crystallization of the antibacterial agent can be hindered, even when mixed with a body fluid with an aqueous content, such as urine or menstrual blood.A sufficient quantity of the antibacterial agent can be fixed onto the fiber surfaces, facilitating contact between the antibacterial agent and bodily fluids. Regarding the viscosity of the antibacterial liquid, the maximum limit is not particularly restricted, as long as application is possible. By setting the viscosity to 12,000 mPa.s or less, any discomfort the user might feel due to the high viscosity of an antibacterial liquid can be reduced.
[00113] In the present embodiments, the antibacterial liquid 10 can be configured so as to include antibacterial portions 10b with intersection points, formed at a plurality of intersection points 20x; and raised antibacterial portions 10a, formed so as to rise from the surfaces of the fibers 20 at positions on each of the fibers 20, spaced at a plurality of intersection points 20x. The antibacterial liquid 10 can be configured so as not to include water.
[00114] In the method for manufacturing the present absorbent article Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, page 42 / 67 37 / 45 (in the present embodiments, the sanitary absorbent 1), by using an organic solvent in the antibacterial liquid 10 to reduce the water content as much as possible (preferably without the use of water), rust and / or corrosion of the manufacturing equipment can be inhibited and the operating rate of the manufacturing equipment can be increased. By making the antibacterial agent hydrophilic, crystallization due to contact with a body fluid can be inhibited. Furthermore, by mixing the antibacterial agent with a non-volatile organic solvent, crystallization of the antibacterial agent due to volatilization of the organic solvent can be inhibited.Furthermore, since the elevated antibacterial portions 10a formed on each of the fibers 20 so as to rise from the surfaces of the fibers 20 are included, the surface area of the antibacterial liquid 10 that can come into contact with the body fluid can be increased, and more antibacterial liquid 10 can be retained in the fibers 20 of the sheet (in the present embodiments, top sheet 2). As a result, a sufficient amount of the antibacterial agent can be fixed on the surfaces of the fibers 20 and the antibacterial agent can be even more easily brought into contact with the body fluid. Therefore, in the present absorbent article, the crystallization of the antibacterial agent can be hindered, even when mixed with a body fluid that contains an aqueous content, such as urine or menstrual blood.A sufficient amount of the antibacterial agent can be fixed onto the fiber surfaces, and the antibacterial agent can more easily come into contact with body fluid.
[00115] In the method for manufacturing the present embodiments, the antibacterial liquid does not produce precipitation, even when left to stand at 0 °C for 24 hours. Thus, defects such as precipitation blockage within the manufacturing equipment can be further inhibited and the operating rate of the manufacturing equipment can be improved. [00116] The basis weight of the nonwoven textile and the average diameter of the fibers described above are determined by the following measurement methods. Base Weight of Nonwoven Textile
[00117] (1) Five samples of a predetermined size (example: 50 mm x 50 mm) are cut from a nonwoven textile.
[00118] (2) The masses of the five cut samples are measured with a direct reading balance (HF-300 Electronic Balance, manufactured by Kensei Kogyo Co., Ltd.).
[00119] (3) The mass per unit area of the nonwoven textile is calculated from the average value of the masses of the five samples to obtain the basis weight (g / m2) of the nonwoven textile. Average Fiber Diameter
[00120] (1) A nonwoven textile measuring 10 mm x 10 mm is cut to obtain a sample.
[00121] (2) The sample is placed on a specimen sheet, an appropriate amount of glycerin is dripped onto the sample so that the entire sample is immersed in glycerin, and a coverslip is placed over it.
[00122] (3) Using an optical microscope (VHC100 digital microscope with VH-Z450 lens, manufactured by Keyence Corporation), the sample surface is observed at a magnification of x1000.
[00123] (4) The diameters of the fibers exposed on the sample surface are measured at 50 locations and an average value is obtained as the average fiber diameter. EXAMPLES

[00128] (2) Evaluation Method
[00129] Each of the antibacterial liquids from Examples 1 to 6 and Comparative Examples 1 to 3 was evaluated for the following characteristics. (a) Viscosity
[00130] The viscosity (mPa.s) of the antibacterial liquid was measured using Method 1 for Measuring the Viscosity of Antibacterial Liquid described previously. (b) Stability
[00131] The ease of separation of the antibacterial agent in the antibacterial liquid (described as water dripping in Table 1) was measured using the Method for Measuring the Presence or Absence of Separation of the Antibacterial Agent in the Antibacterial Liquid When Water Is Dripped, described previously. Additionally, the ease of precipitation of the antibacterial agent in the antibacterial liquid (described as 0 °C-24 h in Table 1) was measured using the Method for Measuring the Presence or Absence of Precipitation of the Antibacterial Agent in the Antibacterial Liquid When Left to Stand at 0 °C for 24 Hours, described previously. In Table 1, passed indicates that no separation or precipitation in the antibacterial liquid was observed, and failed indicates that either was observed. (c) High Antibacterial Portion
[00132] Each of the antibacterial liquids from Examples 1 to 6 and Comparative Examples 1 to 3 was applied, at a basis weight of 20 g / m2, to a nonwoven textile with air passage (basis weight of 30 g / m2, Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, pp. 46 / 67 41 / 45 made of hydrophilically treated polyethylene fibers).
[00133] The presence or absence of elevated antibacterial portions in the fibers (described as presence or absence of elevated portion in Table 1), the cross-sectional diameter (μm) of the elevated antibacterial portions immediately after application to the fibers (described as cross-sectional diameter (μm) in Table 1), the cross-sectional diameter (μm) of the elevated antibacterial portions 65 hours after application to the fibers (described as cross-sectional diameter at 65 hours (μm) in Table 1), and the fiber diameter (μm) of the fibers to which the elevated antibacterial portions were applied (described as fiber diameter (μm) in Table 1) were measured. The measurement methods were those described previously. The ratio (described as a factor in Table 1) of the cross-sectional diameter (μm) of the elevated antibacterial portions 65 hours after application to the fiber diameter (μm) of the fibers to which the elevated antibacterial portions were applied was calculated.
[00134] (3) Evaluation Results (a) Viscosity
[00135] The viscosities of the antibacterial liquids in Examples 1 to 6 were 125, 126, 270, 1760, 1840, and 12000 mPa.s, respectively, falling within the range of 100 to 12000 mPa.s. The viscosities of the antibacterial liquids in Comparative Examples 1 to 3 were 59, 46, and 48 mPa.s, respectively, falling outside the range of 100 to 12000 mPa.s. (b) Stability
[00136] In the antibacterial liquids of Examples 1 to 6, the presence or absence of separation of the antibacterial agent was measured when water was dripped on, and as a result, it was determined that separation of the antibacterial agent did not occur. Furthermore, in the antibacterial liquids of Examples 1 to 6, the presence or absence was measured. Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, pp. 47 / 67 42 / 45 of the antibacterial agent precipitation was measured when left to stand at 0 °C for 24 hours, and as a result, it was determined that no precipitation of the antibacterial agent occurred. In the antibacterial liquids of Comparative Examples 1 to 3, the presence or absence of separation of the antibacterial agent was measured when water was dripped on, and as a result, it was determined that, with the exception of Comparative Example 2, separation of the antibacterial agent occurred. Furthermore, in the antibacterial liquids of Comparative Examples 1 to 3, the presence or absence of precipitation of the antibacterial agent was measured when left to stand at 0 °C for 24 hours, and as a result, it was determined that, with the exception of Comparative Example 2, precipitation of the antibacterial agent occurred. (c) High Antibacterial Portion
[00137] It was determined that the antibacterial liquids of Examples 1 to 6, when applied to a sheet, produced elevated antibacterial moieties in the fibers. It was determined that the antibacterial liquids of Comparative Examples 1 to 3, when applied to a sheet, did not produce elevated antibacterial moieties in the fibers. This is believed to be mainly due to the difference in the type of agent in the antibacterial liquid and the relatively low viscosity of the antibacterial liquid. Figure 4 includes optical microscope images showing the antibacterial liquids in the fibers of Example 5 and Comparative Example 1 of the sanitary napkin according to the embodiments. In Example 5, the diameter of the cross-section of the antibacterial liquid elevation from the surface of fiber 20 was 80.6 μm (fiber diameter 19.3 μm), and it was clear that an elevated antibacterial moiety 10a was present. In Comparative Example 1, the cross-sectional diameter of the antibacterial liquid elevation from the surface of fiber 120 was 21.5 μm (fiber diameter of 19.4 μm), and... Petition 870250090516, dated 03 / 10 / 2025, pp. 48 / 67 43 / 45 although antibacterial liquid 110a was present, no elevated antibacterial portion was present.
[00138] In Example 1, the cross-sectional diameter of the raised antibacterial portion, compared to that immediately after application (76.4 μm), was reduced 65 hours after application (25.0 μm), but was 1.4 times the fiber diameter (18.4 μm) and was therefore considered sufficiently high relative to the fiber surface. Similarly, in Example 5, the cross-sectional diameter of the raised antibacterial portion, compared to that immediately after application (100.9 μm), was reduced 65 hours after application (80.6 μm), but was 4.2 times the fiber diameter (19.3 μm) and was therefore considered sufficiently high relative to the fiber surface. In Comparative Example 1, the cross-sectional diameter of the raised antibacterial portion, compared to that immediately after application (51.9 μm), was reduced 65 hours after application (21.5 μm), and was 1.1 times the fiber diameter (19.4 μm) and, therefore, was considered not substantially raised relative to the fiber surface.
