Description

1 / 20 METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PUSH TRANSMISSION IN MULTIPLE SLOTS IN MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED PATENT APPLICATION(S)

[0001] This disclosure forms part of a non-provisional application claiming the priority benefit of U.S. Patent Application No. 63 / 500 928, filed May 9, 2023, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference in their entirety. TECHNICAL FIELD

[0002] This disclosure relates generally to mobile communications and, more particularly, to PUSCH transmission via multiple slots with respect to mobile communications devices. BACKGROUND

[0003] Unless otherwise indicated in this document, the approaches described in this section are not prior techniques to the claims listed below and are not admitted as prior techniques by their inclusion in this section.

[0004] In 5th generation (5G) New Radio (NR) mobile communications, a physical uplink shared channel transport block (PUSCH) can be transmitted over multiple slots, which is called TB over multi-slot PUSCH (TBoMS). In relation to TBoMS, the slots can consist of sub-band full-duplex (SBFD) slots / symbols and non-SBFD slots / symbols. However, legacy frequency domain resource allocation (FDRA) can cause PUSCH transmission to overlap with downlink subband (DL-SB) in SBFD slots / symbols.

[0005] Thus, how to resolve the conflict between PUSCH transmission and DL-SB slots becomes an important issue in the newly developed wireless communication network. Therefore, there is a need to provide suitable schemes for PUSCH transmission in multiple slots in mobile communications. Petition 870250090785, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, page 16 / 45 2 / 20 SUMMARY

[0020] Detailed modalities and implementations of the claimed matters are disclosed in this document. However, Petition 870250090785, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, page 19 / 45 5 / 20 It should be understood that the embodiments and implementations disclosed are merely illustrative of the claimed subjects, which may be embodied in various forms. This disclosure may, however, be embodied in many different forms and should not be interpreted as limited to the exemplary embodiments and implementations set forth herein. Instead, these exemplary embodiments and implementations are provided so that the description of this disclosure is thorough and complete and fully conveys the scope of this disclosure to those skilled in the art. In the description below, details of well-known features and techniques may be omitted to avoid unnecessarily obscuring the embodiments and implementations presented. Overview

[0021] The implementations according to this disclosure relate to various techniques, methods, schemes and / or solutions pertaining to physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission through multiple slots with respect to devices in mobile communications. According to this disclosure, various possible solutions can be implemented separately or in combination. That is, although these possible solutions may be described separately below, two or more of these possible solutions may be implemented in one combination or another.

[0022] Regarding PUSCH transmission through multiple slots in this disclosure, an indicator is introduced. In particular, a plurality of slots is configured for PUSCH transmission. The plurality of slots includes one or more sub-band full-duplex (SBFD) slots and one or more non-SBFD slots. Each SBFD slot may contain downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) resources in the frequency domain (i.e., sub-band DL and sub-band UL), and each non-SBFD slot may contain only DL resources or only uplink resources. Petition 870250090785, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, page 20 / 45 6 / 20 UL in the frequency domain. The indicator is associated with one or more SBFD slots. When the PUSCH is transmitted through multiple slots, a PUSCH transmission over one or more SBFD slots is performed based on the indicator. In other words, a PUSCH transmission behavior over one or more SBFD slots is determined based on the indicator.

[0023] FIG. 1 illustrates an example scenario 100 under schemes according to implementations of the present disclosure. Scenario 100 involves at least one network node and a UE, which may be part of a wireless communication network (e.g., an LTE network, a 5G / NR network, an IoT network, or a 6G network). Scenario 100 illustrates the actual network structure. The UE may connect to the network side. The network side may comprise one or more network nodes.

[0024] In some embodiments, a plurality of slots can be configured for PUSCH transmission between the network node and the UE. The plurality of slots can include one or more SBFD slots and one or more non-SBFD slots. The network node can transmit an indicator to the UE. The indicator can indicate to the UE that, when a PUSCH is transmitted through the plurality of slots, a PUSCH transmission over the one or more SBFD slots is performed based on the indicator. In other words, a PUSCH transmission behavior over the one or more SBFD slots is determined based on the indicator.

[0025] In some modalities, the indicator may include a specific frequency domain resource allocation (FDRA) associated with one or more SBFD slots. When the PUSCH is transmitted over a plurality of slots, the transmission of the PUSCH over one or more SBFD slots is performed based on the specific FDRA.

[0026] More specifically, with regard to PUSCH transmission, a first FDRA can be configured by the network node. The first FDRA can be associated with one or more non-SBFD slots from the plurality of slots for PUSCH transmission. In addition, a second FDRA can be configured by the network node. The second Petition 870250090785, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, page 21 / 45 7 / 20 FDRA can be associated with one or more SBFD slots in the plurality of slots for PUSCH transmission. In other words, regarding PUSCH transmission over the plurality of slots, two FDRs (i.e., the first FDRA and the second FDRA) can be defined / configured for two types of slots (i.e., SBFD slots and non-SBFD slots), respectively. Thus, when PUSCH is transmitted over the plurality of slots, (1) PUSCH transmission over one or more non-SBFD slots is performed based on the first FDRA; and (2) PUSCH transmission over one or more SBFD slots is performed based on the second FDRA.

[0027] In some implementations, the first FDRA associated with one or more non-SBFD slots and the second FDRA associated with one or more SBFD slots may be included in a Layer 1 signaling (e.g., physical layer signaling). For example, an FDRA field within a downlink control information (DCI) activation is used to define the first FDRA. An additional FDRA field is introduced in the DCI and is used to indicate the second FDRA.

[0028] In some implementations, one or more non-SBFD slots associated with the first FDRA may be indicated by layer 1 signaling, and one or more SBFD slots associated with the second FDRA may be indicated by layer 1 signaling.

[0029] In some implementations, one or more non-SBFD slots associated with the first FDRA may be indicated by a top-layer parameter, and the one or more SBFD slots associated with the second FDRA may be indicated by the top-layer parameter.

[0030] In some implementations, the one or more non-SBFD slots associated with the first FDRA may be indicated by a bitmap, and the one or more SBFD slots associated with the second FDRA may be indicated by the bitmap.

[0031] FIG. 2 illustrates an example scenario 200 under schemes according to implementations of the present disclosure. In Petition 870250090785, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, p. 22 / 45 In particular, four slots (i.e., slot #0 to slot #3) are configured for single-TB over-multiple-slot (TBoMS) PUSCH transmission between the network node and the UE. Slots #0, #2, and #3 are non-SBFD slots, and slot #1 is an SBFD slot. For example, slots #0, #2, and #3 are UL-only slots. Slot #1 comprises both UL-SB and DL-SB, and only UL-SB can be used to transmit PUSCH. When registering PUSCH transmission through the slots, two FDRs (i.e., the first FDRA and the second FDRA) are defined / configured for two slot types (i.e., SBFD slots and non-SBFD slots) respectively. Thus, when PUSCH is transmitted through the slots, (1) PUSCH transmission through slots #0, #2, and #3 (i.e., the non-SBFD slots) is performed based on the first FDRA; and (2) the PUSCH transmission through slots #1 (i.e., in the SBFD slot) is performed based on the second FDRA.In this example, the non-SBFD slots (i.e., slot #0, slot #2, and slot #3) associated with the first FDRA and the SBFD slot (i.e., slot #1) associated with the second FDRA can be indicated by a layer 1 flag, a top-layer parameter, or a bitmap (e.g., [1, 0, 1, 1] where 1 means non-SBFD slot).

[0032] In some modes, the indicator may indicate that the UE ignores the PUSCH transmission over one or more SBFD slots when the PUSCH overlaps DL-SB over one or more SBFD slots. In other words, after receiving the indicator, the UE may activate (e.g., apply) a function to ignore the PUSCH transmission over one or more SBFD slots when the UE determines that the PUSCH overlaps DL-SB over one or more SBFD slots.

[0033] More specifically, based on the indicator received, when the UE determines that PUSCH overlaps DL-SB over one or more SBFD slots, the UE may decide to ignore (e.g., ignore, invalidate, or omit) the transmission of PUSCH over one or more SBFD slots.

[0034] In some implementations, when PUSCH is Petition 870250090785, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, p. 23 / 45 9 / 20 transmitted in an unpaired spectrum (i.e., time-division duplexing spectrum), the function to skip PUSCH transmission over one or more SBFD slots can be applied if a PUSCH instance over multiple slots has sufficient switching time for transmission or reception of a synchronization signal block (SSB).

[0035] In some implementations, when PUSCH is transmitted on a paired spectrum (i.e., frequency division duplexing spectrum), the function to skip PUSCH transmission over one or more SBFD slots can be applied to UE with reduced duplex capability (e.g., half duplex capability).

[0036] In some implementations, a slot is not counted for the PUSCH transmitted across the plurality of slots if a corresponding frequency domain allocation in that slot overlaps with DL-SB(s).

[0037] In some implementations, when the UE supports PUSCH replay, a replay of the skipped PUSCH transmission can be deferred. More specifically, when the PUSCH over one or more SBFD slots is skipped, the UE can repeatedly transmit the PUSCH over subsequent SBFD slots. In some implementations, when the PUSCH over one or more SBFD slots is skipped, the UE can simply discard the PUSCH.

[0038] In some implementations, the one or more SBFD slots where the function to skip the PUSCH transmission is applied may be indicated by layer 1 signaling (e.g., physical layer signaling).

[0039] In some implementations, the one or more SBFD slots where the PUSCH transmission bypass function is applied may be indicated by a higher-layer parameter.

[0040] In some implementations, the one or more SBFD slots where the function to ignore the PUSCH transmission is applied may be indicated by a bitmap. Petition 870250090785, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, p. 24 / 45 10 / 20

[0041] FIG. 3 illustrates an example scenario 300 under schemes according to implementations of the present disclosure. In particular, four slots (i.e., slot #0 to slot #3) are configured for a single TBoMS PUSCH transmission between the network node and the UE. Slots #0, #1, and #3 are non-SBFD slots, and slot #2 is an SBFD slot. For example, slots #0, #1, and #3 are UL-only slots. Slot #2 comprises both UL-SB and DL-SB, and DL-SB is not allowed to transmit PUSCH. The PUSCH transmission is configured to be performed based on an FDRA. When registering the PUSCH transmission by the slots, the function to ignore the PUSCH transmission by slot #2 (i.e., the SBFD slot) is applied when the UE determines that the PUSCH overlaps DLSB by slot #2 (i.e., the SBFD slot). Thus, when PUSCH is transmitted through the slots, (1) PUSCH transmission through slots #0, #1 and #3 (i.e., the non-SBFD slots) is performed based on FDRA; and (2) PUSCH transmission through slot #2 (i.e., the SBFD slot) is ignored (i.e., ignored, invalidated or omitted). Illustrative Implementations

[0042] FIG. 4 illustrates an example communication system 400 having an example communication device 410 and an example network device 420 according to an implementation of the present disclosure. [0071] The subject described in this document sometimes illustrates different components contained within or connected to other different components. It should be understood that such represented architectures are merely examples, and that, in fact, many other architectures can be implemented to achieve the same functionality. In a conceptual sense, any arrangement of components to achieve the same functionality is effectively associated so that the desired functionality is achieved. Therefore, any two components combined in this document to obtain a specific functionality can be seen as associated with each other, so that the desired functionality is achieved, regardless of architectures or intermediate components.Similarly, any two components thus associated can also be seen as being operationally connected or operationally coupled to each other to achieve the desired functionality, and any two components capable of being associated can also be seen as being operationally coupled to each other to achieve the desired functionality. Specific examples of... Petition 870250090785, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, page 32 / 45 Operationally coupleable components (18 / 20) include, but are not limited to, physically coupleable components and / or components that interact physically and / or components that can interact wirelessly and / or components that interact logically and / or components that can interact logically.

[0072] Additionally, with regard to the use of substantially any plural and / or singular term in this document, those skilled in the art may translate from plural to singular and / or from singular to plural, as appropriate to the context and / or application. The various singular / plural permutations may be expressly presented in this document for the sake of clarity.

[0073] Furthermore, it will be understood by those skilled in the art that, in general, the terms used in this document, and especially in the appended claims, for example, bodies of the appended claims, are generally conceived as open terms, for example, the term including should be interpreted as including, but not limited to, the term possessing should be interpreted as possessing at least, the term includes should be interpreted as includes, but not limited to, etc. It will further be understood by those within the art that, if a specific number of an introduced claim citation is intended, such intention will be explicitly cited in the claim and, in the absence of such citation, such intention will not be present. For example, as an aid to understanding, the following appended claims may contain the use of the introductory phrases at least one and one or more to introduce claim statements. However, the use of such phrases should not be interpreted as implying that the introduction of a claim statement by the indefinite articles "a" or "a" limits any specific claim containing such an introduced claim statement to implementations containing only one. Petition 870250090785, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, pp. 33 / 45 19 / 20 of these statements, even when the same claim includes the introductory sentences "one or more" or "at least one" and indefinite articles such as "a" or "an," for example, "a and / or an" should be interpreted as "at least one" or "one or more"; the same applies to the use of definite articles used to introduce statements of claims. Furthermore, even if a specific number of an introduced claim statement is explicitly stated, those skilled in the art will recognize that such a statement should be interpreted as meaning "at least the number stated," for example, the simple statement of "two statements," without other modifiers, means "at least two statements," or "two or more statements." Additionally, in cases where a convention analogous to "at least one of A, B, and C, etc." is used...In general, the use of "at least one of A, B, or C" is intended so that someone skilled in the technique would understand the convention; for example, "a system possessing at least one of A, B, and C" would include, but not be limited to, systems possessing A alone, B alone, C alone, A and B together, A and C together, B and C together, and / or A, B, and C together, etc. In cases where a convention analogous to "at least one of A, B, or C, etc." is used, the intention is generally that someone skilled in the technique would understand the convention; for example, "a system possessing at least one of A, B, or C" would include, but not be limited to, systems possessing A alone, B alone, C alone, A and B together, A and C together, B and C together, and / or A, B, and C together, etc.It will also be understood by those within the art that virtually any disjunctive word and / or phrase that presents two or more alternative terms, whether in the description, claims, or drawings, should be understood as encompassing the possibilities of including one of the terms, either of the terms, or both terms. For example, the sentence A or B will be understood as including the possibilities of A or B or A and B. Petition 870250090785, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, pp. 34 / 45 20 / 20

[0074] From the foregoing, it will be appreciated that various implementations of the present disclosure have been described in this document for illustrative purposes, and that various modifications may be made without departing from the scope and spirit of the present disclosure.
