Description

1 / 8 PUNCHING BAG ORDER FIELD

[0001] This application relates to punching bags and, more particularly, to punching bags with a multi-layered and multi-material structure. STATE OF THE ART

[0002] Punching bags were originally used by boxers or martial arts practitioners to improve punching techniques. Recently, punching bags are being used by non-practitioners who wish to develop strength and receive the aerobic benefits obtained through the execution of the punching motion. Furthermore, punching bags are now used as a source of stress relief by many people, since martial arts training programs have proven to be an effective way to improve health and fitness. Many people see positive results from martial arts training, such as improved cardiovascular endurance, increased strength and muscle tone, as well as weight loss. It also helps users gain a sense of strength and emotional balance.

[0003] Conventional punching bags are available in a plurality of sizes and shapes, all commonly constituting a ball, pear or elongated cylindrical configuration, and covered by an outer film, such as leather in a synthetic composite composition, with a filling material inside the skin, such as an air bladder or other filling material, for example, aquatic cotton or other synthetic fibrous material.

[0004] Usually, the bags used for boxing and kicking exercises are of the last elongated cylindrical type that provide more surface area and can weigh 30 kg or more with densities greater than 10 pounds per cubic foot, thus providing substantial firmness to the bag. One of the main reasons for such desired weight and firmness in a common punching bag is to provide a desired degree of resistance to contact of the bag with Petition 870250090834, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, pp. 65 / 79 2 / 8 kicks and punches, and simulate human contact in athletic combat training. The weight of the punching bag also impacts the training effect: if the bag is too heavy, it cannot be moved easily; conversely, if the weight of the bag is too light, it results in a poor training effect.

[0005] To enhance the overall training experience, the bags are designed to have a specific weight and are filled with a memory or compressible material, which can also reduce or adjust impact resistance to a contemplated degree to prevent, or at least reduce, injuries.

[0006] One problem with these punching bags, however, due to their internal composition, is the difficulty in maintaining consistency of shape and resistance during use, especially with prolonged use over a period of time, or more particularly in maintaining the positioning or consistency in the displacement of the bag's filling material. In fact, after repeated forced contact with a training bag, generally over most of its outer film surface area, the filling material can be displaced or moved out of its original more or less homogeneous position, resulting in a heavy bag or kicking bag with less homogeneous resistance in its surface contact area.

[0007] Furthermore, considering that punching bags are generally suspended by a support element, the force of gravity also contributes to a gradual migration and displacement of the filling material from the upper part of the bag to the lower parts, especially when hit by repeated punches and kicks, resulting in an uneven distribution of the filling material with concomitant uneven and inconsistent contact resistance, and a training or practice session below the desired level.

[0008] This application aims to circumvent these problems in an innovative way. BRIEF DESCRIPTION

[0009] This application was prepared to mitigate the disadvantages Petition 870250090834, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, pp. 66 / 79 3 / 8 of the previously described prior art apparatus, thus proving that a punching bag has the capacity to maintain its consistency of resistance and resilience during heavy and severe use.

[0010] Therefore, the object of the present application is a punching bag comprising a multi-material and multi-layered structure. This punching bag, therefore, provides a combination of materials that allows it to achieve a consistency similar to that of a human body, creating a very realistic training experience. Furthermore, to achieve the necessary weight of the bag, the body of the bag comprises a bladder structure with at least one bladder to be filled with liquid.

[0011] In an advantageous configuration, the bladder structure comprises a set of four 20-liter water bladders. Dividing the bladders into 20-liter sections makes it easier for the user to fill each bladder individually, carry it, and position it in the bag using, for example, an ergonomic carrying handle on the top of the bladder, increasing ease of use. [0016] The most general and advantageous embodiments of the present invention are described in the Summary Description of the invention. These embodiments are detailed below in accordance with other advantageous and / or preferred embodiments of the present invention.

[0017] In a preferred embodiment of the punching bag (1) of the present invention, it comprises a body with an outer surface of synthetic leather (1.1) and being formed by at least two inner layers of foam. A first layer of foam (1.2) is formed adjacent to the synthetic leather surface (1.1) and a second layer (1.3) of foam is formed adjacent to the first layer of foam (1.2), towards the interior of the bag body; the first and second layers of foam (1.2, 1.3) have different densities.

[0018] The central part consists of a bladder structure (1.4) comprising at least one bladder, adapted to contain at least Petition 870250090834, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, pp. 68 / 79 5 / 8 liquid storage.

[0019] A punching bag (1) according to this preferred modality is formed by a combination of materials that allows achieving a consistency similar to that of the human body, creating a very realistic training experience. In addition, the two-layer foam structure (1.2, 1.3) has a tubular shape, being arranged along the entire surface of the bag (1), and not just in specific sections of its body, forming a homogeneous layer capable of maintaining its position and therefore offering homogeneous resistance over the contact area of the bag's surface.

[0020] In another embodiment, combinable with the preferred embodiment, the outer surface (1.1) of the punching bag (1) is a synthetic leather surface. This type of material is environmentally friendly and very durable. More particularly, the synthetic leather surface (1.1) can be made from a combination of a natural fiber matrix and at least 50% recycled PU polymer.

[0021] In another embodiment, combinable with any of the embodiments described above, the first foam layer (1.2) is a medium density foam. More particularly, said first foam layer (1.2) may have a thickness between 50 and 70 mm.

[0022] In another embodiment, combinable with any of the embodiments described above, the second foam layer (1.3) comprises high-density expanded polyethylene (EPE) foam. Said second foam layer (1.3) may have a thickness between 30 and 50 mm.

[0023] The proposed multilayer arrangement, with two types of foam, with different densities and thicknesses, allows protecting the bladder structure (1.4) and, consequently, providing greater stability to the punching bag (1), in reaction to the user's strike.

[0024] In another form, combinable with any of the Petition 870250090834, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, pp. 69 / 79 6 / 8 of the modalities described above, at least one bladder (1.5) of the bladder structure (1.4) is a container for storing liquids, such as water. Because it has a water-like center, the punching bag (1) acquires a texture and resistance that resemble the human body. In addition, the water-like center also has the advantage of making the deformation and reaction of the bag to the user's blow more realistic.

[0025] In another embodiment, combinable with any of the embodiments described above, the bladder (1.5) is a membrane made of a PVC polymer and comprises at least one set of valves (1.6) installed at one end of the container, connecting to the interior of said container. The valve assembly (1.6) may comprise an inlet and a heat-sealed section, to achieve a liquid-tight seal. To allow filling or emptying, each bladder (1.5) may have a 65mm flat valve. The valve (1.6) may also be foldable and capable of performing a dual function: bidirectional for water filling and unidirectional for low-pressure pressurization.

[0026] In another embodiment, combinable with any of the embodiments described above, each bladder (1.5) has a volume of 20 liters. Dividing the bladders (1.5) into 20-liter sections makes it easier for the user to fill each bladder (1.5) individually, carry it and position it in the bag (1) using the ergonomic carrying handle that can be installed on the top of the bladder (1.5), increasing ease of use.

[0027] In another embodiment, combinable with any of the embodiments described above, the body of the punching bag (1) has an elongated shape and the bladder structure (1.4) of the central part comprises a set of at least two bladders (1.5), arranged longitudinally on a longitudinal axis. For this purpose, the bladders (1.5) of the set have a shape adapted to be fixed one on top of the other. More particularly, each bladder (1.5) has a cylindrical shape consisting of parallel upper and lower circular bases, joined by a curved surface, in which a base Petition 870250090834, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, pp. 70 / 79 The upper 7 / 8 circular section of a first bladder is adapted to receive a lower circular base, a second bladder, and so on, forming a vertical stack of bladders (1.5). With bladders (1.5) in cylindrical shape, it is possible to stack the required number of bladders (1.5) vertically, ensuring proper balance and, consequently, the stability of the bag (1). For this purpose, each bladder (1.5) may also comprise a connecting piece, such as a connecting ring, in order to improve the connection with adjacent bladders.

[0028] In another embodiment, combinable with any of the embodiments described above, the bladder structure (1.4) comprises a set of four 4 bladders (1.5).

[0029] In another embodiment, combinable with any of the embodiments described above, the bag (1) further comprises at least one detection module adapted to determine the force of the user's impact. The at least one detection module is composed of at least one set of accelerometers embedded in the first layer of foam (1.2). The specific positioning of the sensors in this first layer of foam (1.2) ensures, on the one hand, the correct positioning within the multilayer structure of the bag (1) to measure the force of the impact and, on the other hand, also ensures adequate mechanical protection of the sensors against impacts.

[0030] In another embodiment, combinable with any of the embodiments described above, the punching bag (1) additionally comprises an anchoring module (2). The anchoring module (2) comprises anchoring means adapted to anchor the body of the bag to a first surface (3). More particularly, in another embodiment, the anchoring module (2) additionally comprises anchoring means adapted to anchor the bag (1) to a second surface (4), wherein the first (3) and the second surfaces (4) are perpendicular to each other. Using these two anchoring points and due to the multi-layered structure of the punching bag, it is possible to replicate more realistically the deformation and reaction of the bag to the user's blow, thus enhancing the user experience. Petition 870250090834, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, pp. 71 / 79 8 / 8 during the training session. EXEMPLARY MODALITY

[0031] The punching bag (1) comprises a body made of light gray synthetic leather with two different layers of foam (1.2, 1.3) and, in the center, a set of four water bladders (1.5). This combination of materials allows for a consistency similar to that of the human body and creates a very realistic training experience. The environmentally friendly material chosen for the exterior of the bag is environmentally friendly and very durable, being a combination of natural fiber matrix that provides strength and support, as a backing for more than 50% recycled PU polymer, which gives the bag its outer texture.

[0032] There are two types of foam that make up the interior of the punching bag: the first layer of foam (1.2), right after the outer film (1.1), is of medium density and has a thickness between 50 and 70 mm; the second layer, adjacent to the first layer of foam, is a rigid foam made of expanded polyethylene (EPE). Between the foam layers (1.2 and 1.3), three accelerometers are housed that determine the impact force of each punch delivered by the user.

[0033] To achieve the necessary weight of the punching bag body, approximately 90 kg, so that it can absorb impacts even from some of the strongest users, the bladder structure (1.4) comprises a set of four 20-liter bladders (1.5). By dividing the bladders (1.5) of the bladder structure (1.4) into 20-liter sections, it facilitates the user filling each bladder (1.5) individually, carrying it, and positioning it in the bag (1) using an ergonomic carrying handle on the top of the bladder (1.5). Each water bladder (1.5) has a cylindrical shape and is made of PVC polymer with a thickness of at least 0.8 mm and heat-sealed to achieve a watertight seal. To be able to fill or empty it, each bladder (1.5) has a 65 mm flat valve. Petition 870250090834, dated 06 / 10 / 2025, pp. 72 / 79
