Description

1 / 12 A device introduced in a nut for stripping electrical conductors, applicable to tools in general. Technical field.

[001] This utility model relates to an arrangement introduced in a die for stripping electrical conductors applicable to tools in general, more specifically to a die for stripping electrical conductors applicable to tools in general which, according to its general characteristics, has as its basic principle to provide the formation of a die for stripping in its own specific mechanical structure and based on two universal dies (dies) superimposed on each other and each with two transverse internal blades and one longitudinal internal blade, both for perforation (cutting), in order to enable in an extremely practical way,A safe and precise method for optimizing manual stripping procedures involves pre-cutting (first phase) the insulating layer of electrical conductors by sectioning the protective layer with two extreme transverse cuts and two opposite longitudinal cuts in the electrical conductors, using a stripping die with high resistance, safety, and versatility.

[002] The stripping nut has a specific design and shape and is easily accessible for better adaptation and user safety, features practicality in handling and functionality, is quite affordable and, due to its general characteristics and dimensions, is easily adaptable to a wide range of electrical, local and technical conductors in general, regardless of the characteristics they may present. HISTORY OF THE TECHNIQUE

[003] In the processes of assembling electrical power distribution networks, as well as in the maintenance processes of these networks, which can be carried out with the circuits energized or de-energized, it is necessary to remove the insulating layers in polymeric materials from the insulated conductors (dielectric layer) or the protective layer in polymeric materials from the protected conductors in order to have access to the conductive metallic part of the same. Petition 870260007653, dated 01 / 27 / 2026, page 29 / 43 2 / 12

[004] More specifically, in order to reach the metallic part of electrical conductors it is necessary to remove the protective layers, and the removal of these layers can be done in different positions on the cable depending on the needs of the projects and construction or maintenance processes of the electrical power distribution networks.

[005] The processes for removing these layers, widely known in the current state of the art, are based on cutting methods with pointed instruments such as knives, awls, saws, and machetes, or on softening the layers with blowtorches and subsequent removal using knives or other instruments. After cutting perpendicularly (first phase) to the cable with saws or knives, the layer of material is cut with the awl or knives, and thus the layer is removed in the desired region (second phase), with the removal of the protective or insulating layer of the cable being carried out directly by hand.

[006] When the protective or insulating layers of the conductors are thin, typically up to three millimeters thick, some commercial instruments can be used to make the process less laborious. One of these instruments is based on a pivot (like a blade) pressed onto the protective layer to be removed, making a cut perpendicular to the cable, and then rotating the tool around the cable in a horizontal helical motion until the desired length is covered. After the helical cut of the layer of material to be removed, a V-shaped tool with serrated teeth is fitted into the area of the cut layer, and by means of a rotating motion around the cable, the desired layer is removed.

[007] For situations where the protective or insulating layers are thin, the instruments and techniques presented are quite efficient; however, they involve the undesirable use of cutting instruments in repetitive, exhaustive movements, as well as torches with flammable gases. Even though these are normal procedures and operations, there is always the possibility of incidents or accidents. In the case of pickling instruments, there is the repetition of movements that can, over time, cause health problems due to repetitive strain. It should be noted that, in the case of Petition 870260007653, dated 01 / 27 / 2026, pages 30 / 43 3 / 12 During maintenance of energized networks, electricians use insulating and leather gloves, which greatly hinder the application of this equipment and techniques.

[008] However, in situations where the insulation or protective layers of the conductors are thicker than three millimeters, there is a high difficulty in applying these techniques and instruments, and in many cases it is almost impossible to perform the operation, mainly due to the repetitive efforts that quickly lead the user to physical stress in their arms and hands.

[009] It should be noted that, in all these procedures, after cutting the protective or insulating layer of the cable (first phase), which is the subject of this utility model, it is necessary to completely remove it (second phase), so as to leave the cable completely free of the protective layer, and that, for conductors with more fragile or thinner protective layers, removal can be done directly by hand.

[010] In this line of action, it has become essential for electric power utility technicians, especially those who perform maintenance on electric power distribution networks, the subject of this utility model patent, to structure a versatile, practical, safe and precise structure capable of performing, in a completely manual and ergonomic way, as well as in an elevated position relative to the ground, the stripping of the insulating layers of electric power conductors regardless of their thickness in their preliminary phase - cutting the electric conductor for subsequent removal of the protective layer.

[011] In a broad analysis of the literature aimed at establishing the current state of the art regarding tools for stripping insulating layers of electrical conductors, primarily the first phase of cutting the protective layers of electrical conductors, no relevant documents were described that relate to the specific object claimed in this utility model patent, namely, a stripping nut applied to tool heads for pressing and cutting conductor terminals that allows for the completely manual cutting of a specific section of the protective layer that covers and protects electrical power conductors. Petition 870260007653, dated 01 / 27 / 2026, pages 31 / 43 4 / 12 electrical conductors, as the first phase (preparatory phase) of the process of stripping these electrical conductors. State of the Art Analysis

[012] In a search carried out in specialized databases, documents were found relating to nuts for stripping electrical conductors.

[013] Document no. US3122036 deals with a hand tool consisting of an elongated body, articulated mechanical levers, a spring, cutting blades, and motion transmission mechanisms. Its figures show a complex assembly that performs stripping by pinching and guillotine motion, with articulated arms, inclined surfaces, a punch, opposing blades, and spring return mechanisms. Said document reveals a hand-operated articulated tool with complex kinematics and entirely distinct from the nut for stripping electrical conductors.

[014] Document no. CN207884059 refers to a wire stripping mechanism for cables, comprising a cylinder. The cylinder is installed on one side of the base plate, while the opposite side of the base plate supports a table. The cylinder outlet passes through the base plate and is connected to a lower blade mechanism. The upper cutting mechanism is installed on the table support.

[015] The aforementioned document also differs from the stripping tool for electrical conductors, since it provides for plates, springs, moving parts, lifting mechanisms or trays.

[016] Thus, it is a fact that the documents cited in the paragraphs above, despite belonging to the same field of application, do not present any of the characteristics of the object now improved, thus guaranteeing that it meets the legal requirements for patentability. FUNCTIONAL IMPROVEMENTS

[017] The functional improvement of the present nut for stripping electrical conductors, applicable to tools in general, is based entirely on its simple and robust structure with a minimum number of components and extremely simplified, safe and optimized operation, combined with the procedures of Petition 870260007653, dated 01 / 27 / 2026, pages 32 / 43 5 / 12 manufacturing and maintenance are quite practical, in order to generate a practical and efficient stripping nut capable of performing the preliminary cutting of electrical conductors as the first phase of the stripping process by sectioning the protective layer into two transverse cuts perpendicular to the electrical conductors and two longitudinal and horizontal cuts between the vertical cuts and opposite faces of the electrical conductors. Advantages Obtained

[018] In this structure designed for the stripping tool, the width of the longitudinal and transverse perforation (cutting) blades is equal to the thickness of the protective layer of the electrical conductor plus a few millimeters, since the internal diameter of the circular cutting part is millimetrically larger than the external diameter of the conductive part of the electrical conductor to be stripped, that is, for each diameter of electrical conductor there will be a set of cutting blades, which will strip via the first stage (cutting) the protective layer of any electrical conductor for the respective diameter of the conductive part of the same.

[019] Another advantage is characterized by bringing together components and processes in a differentiated design, which will meet the various requirements that the nature of the use demands, namely, stripping specific sections of electrical conductors. This design guarantees a stripping nut of great efficiency, functionality, resistance, durability, safety, versatility, precision, economy and ergonomics due to the excellent technical qualities added, which provides advantages and improvements in the assembly and maintenance procedures of electrical power distribution networks in general and whose general characteristics differ from other forms and models widely known in the current state of the art.

[020] Another advantage lies in the use of a modern, efficient, safe and functional stripping nut for electrical conductors, applicable to tools in general, formed by a set of correctly incorporated electrical and mechanical solutions, composing a complete and differentiated stripping nut with exclusive design, excellent finishing details and characteristics. Petition 870260007653, dated 01 / 27 / 2026, pages 33 / 43 6 / 12 own, which incorporates its own specific mechanical structure, of high durability and resistance, cylindrical shape, and containing perfectly integrated and symmetrically arranged aligned and overlapping tools in tool heads for pressing and cutting conductor terminals, two universal dies of the nut type with pointed transverse and longitudinal blades as piercing (cutting) elements for electrical conductors, in order to enable the formation of a single, complete and safe assembly, whose internal and external shapes and arrangements allow perfect adaptation to the most diverse types of electrical conductors in general, being specially designed for these purposes with its own geometry.

[021] The present stripping nut is based on the application of components and processes in a differentiated design, without, however, reaching a high degree of sophistication and complexity, making it possible to solve some of the main drawbacks of other forms and models known in the current state of the art and used in manual stripping procedures for electrical conductors in general, which are in a working range where difficulties of use and application, low efficiency and performance, and accidents are very frequent and the forms and / or models are either based on simple adaptations, thus being highly unsafe, highly deteriorated and fragile, with low durability and resistance, low versatility, totally imprecise, laborious to apply, high losses, no ergonomics, low yield and negligible performance, or are large, being of considerable cost, volume and overall weight,Limited flexibility, complex handling, high maintenance, significant downtime, complex manufacturing, low versatility, and low performance. [041] As can be inferred from the attached figures that illustrate and integrate the present utility model of Arrangement Introduced in a Nut for Stripping Electrical Conductors Applicable to Tools in General, in figure (IA) it is presented in a general way, it is comprised of a complete stripping nut (1) with its own characteristics, which incorporates its own structure and Petition 870260007653, dated 01 / 27 / 2026, pages 36 / 439 / 12 specific mechanical type, of high durability and resistance, cylindrical shape, and containing perfectly integrated and symmetrically arranged in tool heads (A) for pressing and cutting electrical conductor terminals (B) two universal dies of the type of nuts (2) of semi-cylindrical shapes, arranged parallel and symmetrically aligned by their inner faces along the entire length of the stripping nut (1) and each having an internal hole (2A) of semi-cylindrical shape and arranged symmetrically along the entire length of the inner part of the universal die of the type of nut (2) with the primary function of accommodating the electrical conductor (B);two sharp or pointed tips (2B) of rectilinear shapes and symmetrically arranged along the entire length of the lateral ends of the inner face of the universal die of the chestnut type (2) with the primary function of performing the external alignment of the two universal dies of the chestnut type (2); two transverse inner blades (2C) of semi-annular shapes and sharp or pointed tips and each arranged perpendicularly, transversely and symmetrically along the entire length of an inner lateral end of the universal die of the chestnut type (2) and between the two sharp or pointed tips (2B) with the primary function of performing the circular and lateral limiting cuts of the section of the electrical conductor (B) - two extreme transverse cuts;an internal longitudinal blade (2D) of straight shape and sharp, pointed tip, arranged perpendicularly and symmetrically centered along the entire length of the inner part of the universal die of the nut type (2), comprised in length and height between the inner faces of the two internal transverse blades (2C), with the primary function of making the cut along the entire central length of the section of the electrical conductor (B) delimited by the lateral cuts - two opposite longitudinal cuts; an external transverse recess (2E) of semicircular shape with a rectangular cross-section and arranged transversely and symmetrically centered around the entire length of the outer face of the universal dies of the nut type (2);and two external longitudinal recesses (2F) of rectilinear shapes with rectangular cross-section and each symmetrically arranged along the entire length of one lateral end of the external face of the universal chestnut-type die (2) and aligned; Petition 870260007653, dated 01 / 27 / 2026, pages 37 / 43 10 / 12 over the entire length of a sharp or pointed tip (2B) with the primary function of supporting the heads (A) of tools for pressing and cutting electrical conductor terminals (B); and wherein, the internal diameter of the transverse internal blades (2C) is millimetrically larger than the external diameter of the conductive part of the electrical conductor (B) and the width of the longitudinal internal blades (2D) is equal to the thickness of the protective layer of the electrical conductor (B) plus a few millimeters.

[042] The stripping nut for electrical conductors applicable to tools in general has its application process based on the correct positioning of the stripping nut (1) inside the heads (A) of tools for pressing and cutting electrical conductor terminals (B). The stripping nut (1) is adapted to the head of the tool for pressing and cutting electrical conductor terminals (B) - a commercial tool that uses a universal U-type die. The stripping nut (1) is fitted around the electrical conductor (B) and the stripping nut (1) is compressed against the cable twice with these two applications perpendicular to each other, the process being, depending on the tool used, automatically terminated when the two universal dies of the nut type (2) touch frontally, or manually when the user observes that the two universal dies of the nut type (2) have met.The two universal chestnut-type dies (2) perform the sectioning of the protective layer with two cuts perpendicular to the electrical conductors (B), by means of the two pairs of transverse internal blades (2C), and two horizontal cuts, by means of the two longitudinal internal blades (2D), on opposite sides of the electrical conductors (B) between the vertical cuts.

[043] After cutting the protective or insulating layer of the electrical conductor (B), it needs to be removed. For electrical conductors (B) with thinner or more fragile protective layers, removal can be done directly by hand. For conductors (B) with thicker or more rigid protective layers, removal must be done with specific tools such as the use of protective layer removal pliers acting with Petition 870260007653, dated 01 / 27 / 2026, pages 38 / 43 11 / 12 the coining blade in the horizontal cut of the protective layer of the electrical conductor (B). For the most efficient removal, after fitting the blade into the horizontal notch left by the stripping nut (1), apply a torque perpendicular to the cut in the removal pliers, thus removing the protective layer of the electrical conductor (B).

[044] It should also be noted that the circular base shape of the electrical conductor stripping nut applicable to tools in general aimed to enable the stripping nut (1) to be applied to a wide range of tool heads for cutting electrical conductors (B) or for crimping hydraulic type terminals adaptable to hydraulic flow points of trucks and autonomous hydraulic units among others, as well as hydraulic tools with manual or automatic actuation.

[045] The stripping nut for electrical conductors, applicable to tools in general, has its components fully integrated with each other, nothing comes loose and nothing breaks or bends, achieving a high level of performance and efficiency, combined with high durability and absolute safety. After being fully integrated with each other and the terminal and conductor pressing and cutting tool, the components remain locked and cohesive, thus preventing them from coming loose on their own during use, leaving the assembly fully available for manual stripping procedures of the insulating layer of electrical conductors (B). In this way, the stripping nut (1) can be used without any concern whatsoever, especially regarding the durability and safety of its components, as well as the safety of its users.

[046] Based on everything presented, this is a manual tool that will be well received by technicians from electrical power utilities in general, as the conductor stripping nut applicable to tools in general offers numerous advantages, such as: high safety, reliability and speed of application; high efficiency and performance in its application due to its overall design; high comfort, convenience and safety for technicians; very high resistance and overall durability, combined with low or no wear on the assembly. Petition 870260007653, dated 01 / 27 / 2026, pages 39 / 43 12 / 12 as a whole; totally affordable costs which allows for an excellent cost / benefit ratio; practical and safe use by any electric utility technician; large range; very low and practical general maintenance; perfect and direct adaptation to the most diverse types of electrical conductors (B) in general; high operational precision; weight and overall dimensions totally compatible; high operational ergonomics; and the certainty of having a stripping nut (1) that fully meets current legislation and standards and the basic conditions necessary for its application.

[047] All these attributes allow the electrical conductor stripping nut, applicable to tools in general, to be classified as a totally versatile, efficient, practical and safe means for stripping the insulating layers of a wide range of electrical conductors (B) in general, in the most diverse types of locations and by the most diverse technicians, regardless of the general characteristics that these may present, being also very easy to apply and handle, combined with high performance and excellent general characteristics; however, the dimensions and quantities may vary according to the general needs of each application.
