1 / 6 MODULAR DOOR HANDLE ARRANGEMENT Technical sector
[001] This utility model belongs to the technical sector of door handles and refers more specifically to a new constructive arrangement introduced in a modular handle that can be fixed to passage doors for homes and offices. It is possible to make compositions for doors of varying sizes and it has no visible screws, combining aesthetics and versatility. State of the art
[002] Door handles of various styles and sizes are known on the market. Particularly for large and heavy doors, specific handles are designed for each application. An example of the use of these handles is on large doors used in homes and offices, where ease of opening is extremely important.
[003] The drawbacks of conventional door handles are the exposed screws and the limited possibility of adjusting them to different door sizes. A known solution for hiding the screws is the use of covers. However, this requires more complex designs that reduce the possibility of adjusting the handles, increase manufacturing costs, and make the assembly and disassembly of the components more difficult.
[004] US patent document 4,087,141 describes a refrigerator door handle. The handle is formed from a long extruded metal bar and supports fixed at both ends. A fixing screw passes through each end of the bar and the support, and is then threaded into a support surface. A flexible, decorative covering component is fitted to the front side of the bar. This covering contains two internal longitudinal fins to contribute to the rigidity of the covering and reinforce its attachment to the bar. The bar, in turn, has longitudinal grooves for fitting the fins of the Petition 870200148060, dated 11 / 24 / 2020, page 4 / 19 2 / 6 coating. This handle has drawbacks such as the complexity of its component shapes and the need for external coating to hide the screws, which results in higher manufacturing costs and limits its versatility.
[005] US patent document 8,108,972 describes a refrigerator door handle. It consists of a long metal bar with grooves into which decorative components are fitted, which are encased in transparent or translucent coverings. Each of the two ends of the handle is attached to a support using a circular cap containing rods that fasten to the longitudinal bar and the support. These supports, in turn, are also fixed to the support surface with screws that are hidden by the back covering of the longitudinal bar. This handle has the disadvantage of relatively high complexity and number of components, as well as the use of different materials for the components, resulting in a high manufacturing cost and low versatility.
[006] US patent document 4,383,519 describes a handle for oven doors. The handle consists of a bar fitted at both ends to supports. Each support is fixed to the side of the door by means of two screws, which are not visible when the door is closed. This handle has the disadvantage that the screws are visible when the door is open. Another disadvantage is that, being fixed to the side of the door, it may impair the fit between the door frame and the door when it is closed.
[007] Patent document ES 1 016 100 describes a handle to be applied to both sides of a passage door. The handle consists of a bar with curved end supports that cover the ends of the bar. The parts are modular and the bar can be of the required length. This handle has the disadvantage of requiring a special component that is coupled between the base and the door.
[008] Patent document GB 2 153 664 describes a doorknob to be Petition 870200148060, dated 11 / 24 / 2020, p. 5 / 19 3 / 6 applied to both sides of a passage door, with the handles formed in a single piece, with curved ends for fixing to the door. The drawback of this handle lies in the impossibility of adjusting the length, due to its non-modular shape. Another drawback is that the handle on one side of the door requires recesses to fit into the head of the fixing element on the door and a small cover to conceal the recess and lock the handle in the mounting position. Novelty and purpose of the proposed arrangement.
[009] The new constructive arrangement introduced in a modular handle for passage doors, proposed by the present utility model, effectively resolves the limitations of the prior art mentioned above.
[010] The handle is composed of only two types of components, namely blocks and bars, with no need for end pieces. These components are modular, and the bar can be cut to the desired length.
[011] The handles can be attached together on both sides of the door, with the fixing screws hidden, so no trim piece is needed.
[012] Alternatively, the handles can be fixed to a metal profile previously installed on the door, increasing the rigidity of the assembly as needed or desired. Functional improvement of the proposed layout
[013] The new constructive arrangement introduced in a modular handle for passage doors, proposed by this utility model, results in the following functional improvement: The handle is composed of only two types of components: blocks and a bar; - No finishing is needed at the edges; The components are modular; The bar can be cut to the desired length; - The handles can be attached together on both sides of the Petition 870200148060, dated 11 / 24 / 2020, page 6 / 19 4 / 6 door; The fastening screws are hidden; - There is no need for a trim piece; - Reduced manufacturing costs due to fewer components, no need for coatings and end finishes, and low geometric complexity of the parts. List of attached drawings
[014] In order for the present model to be fully understood and put into practice by any technician in this technological sector, it is described in a clear, precise and sufficient manner, based on the attached drawings listed below, which illustrate embodiments of the modular handle: Figure 1 - Perspective view of the passage door with modular handle installed. Figure 2 - Perspective view of a construction option for a passage door with a modular handle installed in a metal profile. Figure 3 - Perspective view of the door handle mounted on a metal profile without the door. Figure 4 - Exploded perspective detail of the door handle. Figure 5 - Exploded perspective view of the handle installed on a door construction option featuring a metal profile. Detailed description of the model
[015] Figure 1 illustrates the new constructive arrangement introduced in a modular handle (1) installed on a passage door (2). The length of the handle bar follows specific requirements desired for different applications and door sizes. In detail, the visual aspect of the handle (1) fixed to the door (2) can be seen, so that the fixing screws are hidden, contributing to the aesthetics of the product.
[016] Figure 2 illustrates a constructive option for the passage door (2') with the handle (1) fixed to a previously installed metal profile (3). In detail, the visual aspect of the handle fixed to the door profile can be seen, wherein Petition 870200148060, dated 11 / 24 / 2020, p. 7 / 19 5 / 6 In the same way as in the other configuration, the fixing screws are hidden, contributing to the aesthetics of the product.
[017] Figure 3 illustrates the handle assembly (1) installed on the metal profile (3), where it is possible to better visualize how the components on both sides fit together when assembled.
[018] Figure 4 illustrates in exploded view the new constructive arrangement introduced in the modular handle, so that it is possible to visualize how the components of the assembly connect.
[019] The model assembly consists of two bars (11) that act as handles and have a length that can vary as desired, two stud-pin blocks (12), four stud bolts (13), eight fixing screws (14), two pins (15) and two threaded pin blocks (16).
[020] The two bars (11) have two threaded holes for receiving the fixing screws (14).
[021] The pins (15) have a thread (151) at one end and a head (152) at the opposite end, which is further provided with a peripheral recess (153) and opposite chamfers (154).
[022] The stud-pin blocks (12) and the threaded pin blocks (16) are structurally similar, but have different holes, with the stud-pin blocks (12) on one side of the assembly and the threaded pin blocks (16) on the opposite side. Both blocks (12 and 16) have two through holes with a countersink to receive the heads of the fixing screws (14).
[023] The threaded pin blocks (16) have a threaded hole for fixing the threaded end (151) of the pin (15). The stud pin blocks (12) have a hole without thread and of larger diameter to receive the heads (152) of the pins (15), in addition to having a hole orthogonal (121) to the axis of the hole of the pin (15), to receive the stud bolt (13).
[024] To mount the handle (1) on the door (2), the following sequence of operations is performed: two threaded pin blocks (16) are fixed by two fixing screws (14) each, at the ends of one of the bars (11). The Petition 870200148060, dated 11 / 24 / 2020, page 8 / 19 6 / 6 pins (15) are fixed, by the threaded end (151), to the two screw-pin blocks (16) and pass through the door (2), with the opposite end, which has the head (152), being fixed to the stud-pin blocks (12) by the action of orthogonal stud screws (13), whose tips penetrate the peripheral recesses (153) of the pins (5). Each stud-pin block (12) is previously fixed to the ends of the other bar (11) with two fixing screws (14) each. Thus, the screw-pin blocks (16) and the stud-pin blocks (12) are supported on the surface of the door (2) and tensioned by the pins (15), hiding all the fixing elements, contributing to the aesthetics of the model.
[025] The bars (11) can have variable lengths as desired. The other components remain the same for any variations in the length of the bars (11).
[026] Figure 5 illustrates in exploded view a constructive option of the assembly of the modular handle installed on the passage door (2') with the alternative addition of a metal profile (3). All other components and the form of the assembly remain the same as in Figure 4.
[027] In this constructive option, the metal profile (3), previously installed on the door (2'), is provided with two through holes for the passage of the pins (15). The threaded pin blocks (16) and the stud pin blocks (12) are fitted to the metal profile (3), increasing the rigidity of the assembly as needed or desired.
