Description

1 / 6 Descriptive report for the utility model patent: Device for placing follicular units. FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[001] This document pertains to the field of medicine, more specifically to the field of plastic surgery directed at patients with baldness. It concerns a device for the placement of multiple-shot follicular units. DESCRIPTION OF THE STATE OF THE ART

[002] Baldness is a common problem affecting millions of people worldwide, and hair transplantation is the only definitive solution for treating the condition. The development of the Follicular Unit Excision Procedure (FUE) technique has allowed for significant progress in results, but innovations are needed to ensure the preservation of follicular units, especially regarding their placement. There are various implanter options on the market, but they are still imported, expensive, and require a large team for replacement.

[003] The present invention presents a manual device for placing multiple-shot follicular units, which integrates a set of technological innovations, such as easy handling and hygiene.

[004] Document WO2008091142 presents an instrument for Petition 870210111975, dated 02 / 12 / 2021, page 6 / 17 2 / 6 Removing and applying human follicular hair grafts using disposable needles. The object of the present invention presents differentiated aesthetic and mechanical aspects in relation to the cited document.

[010] Document CN1589748 discloses a hair implantation apparatus and method that converts hair transplants into a hair graft chamber for the human scalp. The document does not present the possibility of applying multiple follicles, nor the possibility of lateral actuation, and also does not present an easy cleaning system, in addition to differing in many aesthetic and mechanical aspects from the proposed invention.

[011] Document KR2019103941 is a technology related to the structure of an automatic hair transplant device capable of continuous implantation operation using the structure of an existing manual applicator. The document does not present the possibility of being operated manually, nor the possibility of lateral activation, and also does not present an easy cleaning system, in addition to differing in many aesthetic and mechanical aspects from the present invention. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[012] The present invention is used in hair transplantation using the FUE technique, is manual, and comprises a tip (1), a Petition 870210111975, dated 02 / 12 / 2021, page 8 / 17 4 / 6 head (2) with orifices, a regulator (3), up to 3 individual side trigger buttons (4) for each needle, where each needle has a spring (5) involved to allow firing, at least one needle insertion depth adjustment button located on the top of the device, up to 3 needle firing buttons and the device loads up to 3 follicular units simultaneously. OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION

[013] The present invention aims to present a model of an implanter device for placing follicular units. The invention assists in placing follicular units, removed by the FUE hair transplant technique, in the scalp in a way that reduces manipulation of the hair follicle bulb region and reduces the number of device changes between the surgeon's hand and the surgical assistants, increasing the efficiency of the procedure and reducing surgical time. Furthermore, with the described device, fewer implanters are needed per surgery, and the device's shape facilitates cleaning and sterilization. The device of the invention also features an ergonomic shape for the implanter, even though it has multiple loaded needles. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

[016] Figure 3 - Top perspective view of the regulator (3) detailing the external part of the manual adjustment and the internal part with the thread that connects to the head (2). DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[017] The present invention relates to a device for placing follicular units comprising: - A tip (1) where the needle containing the follicular units (FU) is externalized; - A head (2) with holes that facilitate cleaning of the device and that serve for the insertion of the actuator buttons; - A regulator (3), responsible for determining the depth of needle penetration with the graft; - A trigger (4), responsible for the individual activation of the needle; and - Spring (5), which surrounds each needle to allow firing.

[018] This manual device has the ability to load up to 3 follicular units at a time, with individual firing by piston action of the needle loaded with graft, using an individual side button for each needle. The needles used are surrounded by internal springs (5) that enclose each needle, and which are activated by the side buttons. The needles in the device can be disposable, made of stainless steel, with a cutting bevel, as can the springs (5) and the piston. The implanter body is Petition 870210111975, dated 02 / 12 / 2021, page 10 / 17 6 / 6 anodized aluminum or durable, autoclavable plastic material.

[019] The development of the 3-needle device was carried out with the aim of reducing the chances of graft drying out due to exposure to the environment.

[020] The aforementioned invention assists in placing follicular units, removed by the FUE hair transplant technique, into the scalp in order to reduce manipulation of the hair follicle bulb region and reduce surgery time.

[021] The said invention has an ergonomically favorable shape, despite having multiple loaded needles. The needles can be replaced, which makes it possible to change them during surgery. Petition 870210111975, dated 02 / 12 / 2021, page 11 / 17
