HISTORY OF THE TECHNIQUE
[004] The faucet is an essential device for controlling the flow of water, facilitating access to this fundamental resource in a practical and efficient way. Its importance is linked to the supply of water for consumption, personal hygiene, domestic cleaning and industrial processes, in addition to contributing to the reduction of waste and the promotion of sustainability. Over time, the evolution of the faucet in Brazil reflects changes in infrastructure, technology and environmental awareness of society. Petition 870250055901, dated 02 / 07 / 2025, page 4 / 13 / 7
[005] During the colonial period, there were no taps as we know them today. Water was supplied by wells, rivers, and public fountains, and water was collected manually and stored in containers such as pots or barrels. Only in the 19th century, with the advancement of plumbing systems, did the first taps begin to appear in homes, mainly in the houses of the urban elite. Usually made of metal, they were simple devices, but they represented an important advance in access to piped water.
[006] In the 20th century, especially from the 1930s and 1950s onwards, the popularization of piped water accompanied the process of urbanization and industrialization in Brazil. Faucets, initially made of cast iron and brass, became more accessible to the urban population. In the 1970s and 1980s, the industry modernized its production, introducing lighter and cheaper materials such as aluminum and plastic, which allowed the use of faucets to expand even further, meeting a growing market.
[007] With the arrival of the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, concern for the efficient use of water and sustainability became priorities. New technologies began to be incorporated into faucets, such as aerators, which allow for reduced consumption without compromising flow, and automatic shut-off systems and sensors, especially in public spaces where waste is more critical. In addition, the materials used in manufacturing evolved, now including stainless steel, ceramics, and more durable polymers, ensuring greater resistance and lifespan. State of the Art Analysis
[008] Currently, we can find a wide variety of faucet models on the market, which in turn aim to control the flow of water in homes, industries, and public spaces. Research conducted in specialized databases found documents, such as document number BR 20 2018 009567-1, which deals with a “CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT INTRODUCED IN Petition 870250055901, dated 02 / 07 / 2025, page 5 / 13 / 7 "FAUCET", the present utility model belongs to the technological field of water heating equipment; an electronic faucet is disclosed provided with at least one means of heating water and at least one light source, wherein the light source and the "observation area" of the light source are misaligned with each other, and to overcome this issue, a refracting surface is provided capable of directing the light from the light source to the "observation area".
[009] Document No. BR 10 2021 008162-7 which deals with a "FAUCET AND MANUFACTURING PROCESS THEREOF", the present invention refers to an innovative faucet, which has a body composed of two parts, the body itself, and the spout, with a non-apparent joining line, disposed at the end of the extension of the water outlet duct; The invention also relates to a process for injecting thermoplastic material to obtain said tap, being situated within the technological sector of taps or valves, especially taps manufactured in a thermoplastic injection process; it is known that for the production of plastic taps with a specific desired geometry, it is necessary to divide the tap body into two parts, usually the body and the spout, in order to allow the extraction of the tap threads, being produced separately and subsequently joined, generally, the division between the body and the spout / stem is visible and occurs on a plane (there is an overlap in the assembly of the parts, with the visible mark on a plane), and this visible union is not aesthetically pleasing; The designed tap comprises the body (1), inside which is positioned the seal (2) and the o-ring (3) next to the sealing mechanism (4), which is connected to the thread (5), together with the castle nut (6), and onto which the handle (7) fits, the lower part of the body (1) having the thread (8) where the upper sealing washer (9), the lower washer (10) and the threaded flange (11) are positioned; the front part of the body (1) has the water outlet duct (1A), inside which is located a reduction in the wall thickness (1B) said to be the fitting of the spout (12) through its extension (12A). Petition 870250055901, dated 02 / 07 / 2025, p. 6 / 13 / 7
[010] Document No. BR 10 2018 073947-6 concerning a “FAUCET”, the present invention refers to a faucet (10), of the conventional or electric / electronic type, which performs the functions of actuation (opening and closing) and flow control of a fluid by means of a rotational movement, i.e., a turn in the faucet spout (2) itself (10), presenting a simple, practical and functional construction, without the need to use handles, saving space for the installation of the faucet (10) and reducing costs in the manufacture and acquisition of the device when compared to faucets currently found on the market.
[011] As mentioned in the documents above, among others available on the market, these are extremely common, leaving much to be desired for those more demanding of exclusive products. Within this context, we can find more refined faucets on the market, which aim to offer exclusivity; however, despite performing their function, they depend on complex components to operate, resulting in products with high manufacturing costs and a limited market. Furthermore, over time they require frequent maintenance to function correctly.
[012] These taps on the market have a common shape, and in many cases have pointed components, which in the event of an accident where the user comes into direct contact with the tap's structure, can pose a risk of injury to the user.
[013] Thus, it is a fact that the documents cited in the paragraphs above, despite belonging to the same field of application, do not present any of the characteristics of the object now improved, thus guaranteeing that it meets the legal requirements for patentability.
