Description

1 / 11 “IMPROVEMENT IN WATER FLOW CONTROL AERATOR SYSTEM”

[001] The purpose of this improvement is to target the hydraulic segment.

[002] The utility model refers to an improved faucet aerator, more specifically, to a water aerator made of acetal resin that incorporates advanced hydrodynamic technology to optimize water flow with high pressure, low consumption and ease of maintenance, providing easier cleaning and a more hygienic environment. [State of the Art]

[003] It is widely known in the hydraulic industry that aerators are devices that, not exclusively, but most often, are attached to faucets, promising to provide the consumer with significant water savings. However, to achieve this, after installing a conventional water-saving aerator on their faucet, the consumer experiences, contrary to what was offered, a meager water flow and consequently, a jet that compromises the pressure and comfort of the user, or a low-impact saving.

[004] We then have on the market, the aforementioned small accessory which initially proposes to fulfill: - Water and energy savings through high-performance pumping; - - Suitable for different pressures; - Resistance to high temperatures; - Extended lifespan of over 10 years due to the material used in its manufacture; - Environmental protection, among other advantages. [Summary]

[005] The present utility model describes an improved faucet aerator that solves the problems of the prior art by adopting the following differences: Petition 870250095371, dated 10 / 18 / 2025, page 6 / 18 2 / 11

[006] Acetal Resin Material: The aerator is made of acetal resin (polyoxymethylene - POM), a non-porous material that does not accumulate minerals such as limescale. This facilitates cleaning of the aerator, keeping it more hygienic, and increases its durability, since acetal resin is resistant to abrasion, high temperatures and corrosion.

[007] Hydrodynamic Technology with Pressure Chamber: The aerator's construction involves a hydrodynamic process that utilizes an internal pressure chamber, allowing the water to be aerated efficiently while maintaining the water's kinetic energy. This results in a high-pressure water flow, providing comfort and savings even with high system pressure.

[008] Flow Rate of 3 Liters per Minute: The improved model is capable of maintaining a constant flow rate of 3 liters per minute, even under high water pressure in the supply system. Unlike conventional aerators, which increase flow when pressure is higher, the aerator described here maintains a controlled flow rate and water savings, without compromising the quality of the user experience.

[009] Consistent Performance: The combination of acetal resin material and hydrodynamic technology ensures that the aerator maintains a comfortable, aerated flow without large variations, regardless of high water supply pressures. [Detailed Description of the Enhancement]

[010] The improved aerator consists of a main body made of acetal resin, a material highly resistant to wear and corrosive agents. The aerator structure design differs from conventional models, featuring an internal pressure chamber that optimizes water flow distribution and promotes more efficient mixing with air.

[011] The pressure chamber is designed to retain the kinetic energy of the water, which contributes to a high-pressure and visually more voluminous flow, without increasing water consumption. The non-porous characteristic Petition 870250095371, dated 10 / 18 / 2025, page 7 / 18 3 / 11 of the acetic resin prevents the accumulation of minerals and residues, unlike the porous plastic used in conventional models, which is vulnerable to clogging and dirt buildup.

[012] In addition, the advanced aerator technology applied to this model maintains the aerated flow at only 3 liters per minute, which is considerably more efficient than conventional economy models, which have higher flow rates per minute to deliver a visually and comfortably comfortable flow. Advantages and Differentiators

[013] Durability: Acetal resin is a highly resistant material, which provides a longer lifespan for the aerator, reducing the need for replacement or constant maintenance.

[014] Water Efficiency: The aerator maintains a controlled flow rate of 3 liters per minute, resulting in a significant reduction in water consumption without sacrificing comfort and device performance.

[015] Ease of Maintenance: The non-porous acetic resin material and mineral deposit-free design facilitate cleaning and maintenance, ensuring a more hygienic and unobstructed environment.

[016] High Pressure Flow and Comfort: The pressure chamber and optimized air mixture provide an aerated and comfortable flow, regardless of water pressure, which improves the user experience.

[017] Improved Performance: Even in systems with high water pressure, the aerator maintains high performance, providing an experience similar to models with higher flow rates, but without wasting water.

[018] Reduced washing experience = variable water outlet pressure [Comparison between Conventional and Improved aerator]

[019] Conventional Aerator

[020] Standard solutions do not resolve the pressure loss that occurs when opening more than 1 tap simultaneously. Petition 870250095371, dated 10 / 18 / 2025, page 8 / 18 4 / 11

[021] High maintenance, requires periodic cleaning. As, by definition, traditional aerators accumulate limescale and dirt and promote the proliferation of bacteria, they require constant and periodic cleaning and disinfection.

[022] Costs of periodic replacement. Standard solutions regularly become clogged with limescale deposits and deteriorate in less than 5 years mainly due to chemicals in the water such as chlorine and hot water, leading to replacement and higher costs.

[023] Improved Aerator

[024] Comfortable to use with constant water output regardless of pressure variation

[025] It has a unique design and pressure regulator that maintains the appearance of water flow, no matter how many taps are opened.

[026] Self-cleaning, low maintenance because the equipment prevents solids from being trapped in the aerator membranes, keeping the appliance clean at all times. The hydrodynamic principle on which it is based allows it to provide a jet rich in air that considerably reduces the consumption of commonly used detergents, thanks to its differentiated emulsifying effect.

[027] Extremely low replacement costs. Prevents the formation of limescale deposits, manufactured in acetal resin which guarantees a durability of 10 years and greater resistance to abrasives and chemicals in water such as chlorine with hot water and in industries, significantly reducing the replacement costs of the aerator and consequently the tap. [Problems found in the State of the Art]

[028] It is important to emphasize that although the various types of aerators on the market do reduce water flow, they do not work economically and efficiently for the high pressure that exists in current condominiums and do not reach a flow rate of 3 liters per minute comfortably. Petition 870250095371, dated 10 / 18 / 2025, page 9 / 18 5 / 11

[029] However, the problem found in conventional aerators is in the screen that is projected onto the end of the aerator, which is installed on the end of a tap, for example.

[030] The aforementioned screen or grid, as it is usually called, also serves as a retainer of micro-residues present in the water, which accumulate on the screen, including those whose composition contains porous or rough plastics that provide a favorable environment for the proliferation of bacteria, generating infectious colonies of various types.

[031] Because they are porous or rough, they provide an environment conducive to the accumulation of residues, such as dirt, minerals from the water (such as calcium and magnesium), and even biofilms (a layer of microorganisms that adhere to surfaces). These biofilms can be a favorable environment for the proliferation of bacteria, including Legionella. Brief Description of the Improvement

[032] The improvement features an aerator system with a screen-free configuration, providing a pressure chamber system designed to retain the kinetic energy of the water, which contributes to a high-pressure and visually more voluminous flow, without increasing water consumption.

[033] The non-porous nature of the acetal resin prevents the accumulation of minerals and residues, unlike the porous plastic used in conventional models, which is vulnerable to clogging and dirt accumulation, as will be described in detail later. Brief Description of the Figures

[034] The following improvement will be described in relation to the figures in an exemplary and not limiting way, in which:

[046] Figure 12 is a view of a metric bag using a tap with an improved aerator for 30 seconds.

[047] Figure 13 is a view of a metric bag using a tap with an improved aerator for 30 seconds.

[048] The present improvement provides an aerator system (1) with a completely different concept in its structural form. Having the same purpose as conventional aerators, the improved system ensures that the mixture of Petition 870250095371, dated 10 / 18 / 2025, page 11 / 18 7 / 11 air with water is carried out by a system of air inlets and outlets not by a screen or grid, but as will be described in detail below.

[049] The aerator (1) is circular in shape and consists of four parts: the top piece (2), internal pressure chamber (3), air inlet crown (4) and sealing ring (5)

[050] Figure 1 shows the upper portion (2) that fits the air intake crown (4) and is surrounded by the sealing ring (5).

[051] Figure 5 shows how the water exits the aerator system (1) where the water distribution occurs through the rounded lateral flow, with the center of the pressure chamber (3) in place, this prevents the water distribution from occurring in a disordered manner.

[052] As can be seen from figure 6, the air inlet crown (4) has wide edges allowing air to enter more widely and subsequently providing greater pressure when mixed with water.

[053] The inner portion (3) consists of a base (6), followed by a tapered intermediate part (7) that ends in the widening of the upper part (8) which precedes a base of reduced circumferential measurement that appears as a tapered base (9) of the upper end (10).

[054] When portions (2) and (6) fit together they form a single device, the aerator (1).

[055] The aerator (1) thus becomes a tubular device where the upper part (10) of the inner portion (6) closes the outer portion (2) so that the crown-shaped protrusions (5) are partially closed, transforming into rectangular flow windows (12) parallel to each other.

[056] These rectangular vents are responsible for the entry of air which mixes with the water flow completing the aeration system.

[057] The new proposed configuration does not accumulate residues from impurities in the hydraulic system, eliminating any possibility of the creation of bacterial colonies. Petition 870250095371, dated 10 / 18 / 2025, page 12 / 18 8 / 11

[058] Furthermore, the reduction in water consumption occurs without a decrease in water pressure, considering that the aeration system does not occur by retaining water through a screen, but rather by the system proposed in this improvement.

[059] With an increased flow of water mixed with air, the air pressure on the water also increases, and in this way, even more water is retained without the user noticing, nor is there a decrease in the functionality and efficiency of the water flow.

[060] It is important to note the beneficial chain that the improved system promises, since less water is required without any detriment to the user, without the need for a greater requirement than the hydraulic network is capable of offering. Considering that the aforementioned system is not restricted to water temperature, the use of less water with the same efficiency also reduces, in the case of hot water, a decrease in electricity consumption.

[061] Other benefits are also achieved with this improvement, namely, the direction of water flow becomes more efficient when the mixing between water and air occurs in this way, inhibiting waste caused by excessive water splashing.

[062] The lifespan of faucets is also extended with the use of this improved aerator, since the material used in its manufacture increases the impossibility of corrosion of the aerator, which already occurs when water is mixed with air.

[063] The flow rates (12) that appear as windows instead of sieves, nets, meshes or screens used conventionally enable strong flow and create the sensation of greater water volume, and consequently less water is being used without causing the sensation of dripping or dwindling to the user, thus we will have greater pressure and less water.

[064] The sealing system shown in figure 9 also includes the insulator (11) that seals the aerator (1) on the tap that will use it. Petition 870250095371, dated 10 / 18 / 2025, page 13 / 18 9 / 11

[065] The solution presented here is, in conclusion, an aerator that departs from conventionality because its configuration improves the process of introducing air into the water flow, creating pressure that pushes the water towards the outlet, for example, the tap nozzle, in the form of a uniform jet.

[066] The solution provided by this improved aerator is easy to attach, being compatible with the vast majority of taps commercially available on the market, whether for domestic, industrial or similar use. Comparative Study

[067] Figures 11 and 12 show a test performed with a conventional aerator and the improved aerator (1).

[068] The test was carried out in a standard time of 30 seconds and the result was that in the tap where the aerator (1) had been installed the water flow reached 3ml as shown in figure 10, while the conventional aerator used 14ml of water in the same 30 seconds. The proportional result between the improved aerator and the conventional aerator is clearly advantageous for the improved one.

[070] As can be observed, the improved aerator meets all the requirements in tests performed, surpassing those currently available on the market.

[071] In this way, the aerator provides the consumer with an 80% saving, aligned with all the additional hygiene requirements and guarantee of no limescale buildup, which is a major problem detected by aerators belonging to the state of the art.

[072] According to the improved aerator configuration presented here, the air and water mixing system, due to the raw material used, prevents the adhesion and accumulation of debris of all kinds, which are harmful to the user's health, eliminating the need for constant and frequent cleaning. Petition 870250095371, dated 10 / 18 / 2025, page 15 / 18 11 / 11

[073] The configurations have been described in detail above with reference to the drawings. Specific configurations are not limited to the configurations described above, and various design changes and the like are possible within the scope without deviating from the essence.
