Description

[001] The present utility model encompasses a device for securing Paralympic throwing and launching bench structures onto ferromagnetic metal bases. To this end, two manual magnetic lifters, connected to a mechanism, are magnetized onto an inertial metal base in order to apply a downward force to the tubular structure of a bench, preventing its displacement. The ferromagnetic base that receives the magnetic lifters has devices for securing and stabilizing it to the ground, as well as handles for additional bench tying and structures that facilitate the transport of the base. State of the art

[002] Paralympic athletics is contested by athletes with different types of disabilities (physical, visual or intellectual), divided into running, jumping, throwing and shot put (CPB. Athletics. Brazilian Paralympic Committee. Available at:<https: / / cpb.org.br / modalidades / atletismo / > (Accessed on: October 9, 2024).

[003] In the Paralympic throwing and launching classes, shot put, javelin and discus throws are permitted, with athletes classified into different classes according to the type of disability. In these events, each athlete is responsible for their own throwing chair (or bench), and this equipment must comply with the rules and limitations of each competition.

[004] The throwing and launching bench plays a crucial role in Paralympic performance, as it provides all the necessary anchoring for wheelchair athletes when propelling objects. In this way, each athlete has some freedom in choosing the positioning and stabilization of the bench, according to the strategy adopted. Petition 870250008546, dated 01 / 02 / 2025, page 18 / 25 / 4

[005] Normally, the chair is fixed to the ground using tensioned elements (straps), such as straps and chains. However, this technique requires a significant amount of equipment preparation time before each event, using several straps that are somewhat difficult to operate and may even damage the equipment if excessive force is applied when tightening the fasteners.

[006] In the literature, few studies are found for the development of techniques and technologies for Paralympic throwing and launching benches in general. As examples, patents such as BR102017005548A2 (2017), BR202017018167Y1 (2017) and DE202022002597U1 (2022) are found, which focus on the design of the structure of Paralympic throwing and launching benches.

[007] However, up to the date of writing this document, no articles or patent applications have been found that address the development of new strategies for securing throwing benches. Therefore, the invention presented here aims to contribute to techniques for securing Paralympic throwing and launching benches, in order to improve the performance of Paralympic track and field athletes. The magnetic locking device for Paralympic throwing and launching benches represents an engineering project aimed at applying a new technique for securing throwing benches, using magnetic principles as a physical basis.

[008] To this end, the athlete's throwing bench (regardless of its construction) is positioned on a ferromagnetic metal base in accordance with competition restrictions and then fixed to the chosen position by applying magnetic locking devices, constructed around commercial magnetic lifters that are magnetized onto the metal base so that their magnetic force is directed to the bench structure in order to maintain uninterrupted contact with the base. Such magnetic locking devices are modular and portable, and can Petition 870250008546, dated 01 / 02 / 2025, page 19 / 25 / 4 to be easily transported, activated and deactivated on the throwing bench structure, ensuring quick fixation of the same and, consequently, providing greater freedom in the athlete's choice of throwing position.

[009] In turn, the ferromagnetic base can also be transported to the competition site and has devices for its stabilization on the ground, such as stakes and counterweights, in order to provide the necessary inertia for the proper anchoring of the athlete's seat. In addition, this base also has handles for additional seat attachment using common straps, should the athlete wish to adopt this approach. List of Figures

[010] For a better understanding of the present utility model, reference is made to the attached Figures, where: FIGURE 1: shows a complete isometric perspective of the magnetic locking device; FIGURE 2: shows the magnetic locking device in front view, highlighting the visible parts. FIGURE 3: shows the types of interchangeable clamping nozzles within the magnetic locking device structure. [011] The magnetic locking device for Paralympic throwing and launching benches, shown in FIGURES 1 to 4, includes a magnetic locking apparatus and an inertial ferromagnetic base.

[012] The magnetic locking apparatus is constructed around two commercial magnetic lifters (1), with individual load capacities starting from 100 kg, connected to two threaded rods (3) via forks. Petition 870250008546, dated 01 / 02 / 2025, page 20 / 25 / 4 articulation (2), both threaded rods serving as a connecting structure between the magnetic lifters and the clamping base (8), which receives interchangeable clamping nozzles with a triangular (9) or rectangular (10) contact region, these being stabilized on the clamping base by means of magnets (11). The commercial magnetic lifters (1) can also be attached to contact tabs (12) to increase the anchoring area. The clamping base (8) is locked onto the tubular structure to be fixed by means of the nuts (4) and locknuts (5) for fixing seats with different locking heights. The magnetic locking device also has a carrying handle (7), connected to both threaded rods (3) by means of hexagonal nuts (6).

[013] The inertial ferromagnetic base (14) is responsible for accommodating any Paralympic throwing and launching bench (13), having several attached structures. The ferromagnetic base can be fixed to the ground by means of four stakes (15) and / or by applying counterweights on four support pins (16), in order to achieve the inertia necessary for stabilizing Paralympic benches. The positioning of the Paralympic throwing and launching bench (13) on the inertial ferromagnetic base (14) is done with the limitation of the bench containment plate (18), in order to comply with competition regulations; and in addition to the magnetic locking devices, the Paralympic bench can also be tied to the base using the tie-down straps (17). Finally, the inertial ferromagnetic base also has a transport mechanism consisting of two rollers (19) and two transport handles (20).
