Description

CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT INTRODUCED IN A PROTECTIVE AND ISOLATING DEVICE FOR WHEEL HUBS OF SUGARCANE HARVESTERS

[001] This utility model patent application refers to a constructive arrangement introduced in a protective and isolating device for sugarcane harvester wheel hubs, which aims to protect and isolate the mechanical components of the reduction hub from contaminating agents, such as hydraulic oil from the traction motor, thus preserving the lubrication of gears and bearings of said reduction hub, in addition to maintaining it at an ideal operating temperature, significantly increasing the service life of the reduction hub of sugarcane harvesters. FIELD OF APPLICATION

[002] The field of application of the present model is focused on the field of agriculture, more precisely applied to agricultural machinery. Problems inherent to the state of the art.

[003] It is known to those skilled in the art that sugarcane harvesters, such as the John Deere model, among others, use reduction hubs to reduce speed. However, throughout the harvester's working day, the traction motors begin to fatigue, causing the hydraulic oil from the traction motor to contaminate the lubricating oil in the reduction hubs. This leads to decreased viscosity, poor lubrication of the gears and bearings, and increased temperature due to inefficient lubrication, consequently increasing friction between the geared and rolling parts of the reduction hub. Therefore, the reduction hub requires frequent maintenance, which directly impacts harvest productivity and operational costs in the field. STATE OF THE ART

[004] Document BR 112019005359-0, published on 03 / 29 / 2018, is known from the current state of the art and deals with a speed reducer, a power system, a rail-mounted train, and a rail transit system. The speed reducer includes: a housing; a speed reduction mechanism, arranged in the housing; and a support shaft, a first Petition 870250008912, dated 03 / 02 / 2025, page 10 / 15 Two-quarters of the supporting shaft end is supported in the gearbox body, and a second end of the supporting shaft is connected to a high-speed end of the speed reduction mechanism. The speed reducer according to the present invention achieves a more stable connection between a drive shaft and the speed reduction mechanism and a more stable power transmission.

[005] However, the prior art mentioned above is cited only to establish the state of the art, given that it is the closest document to the matter now claimed and, even so, does not reveal any teaching regarding a protective device for wheel hubs of sugarcane harvesters, which aims to protect and isolate the mechanical components of the reduction hub from contaminating agents, such as hydraulic oil coming from the traction motor.

[006] Document CN 110561976 A, published on 12 / 13 / 2019, describes a high-strength, waterproof wheel hub structure composed of three modules: the hub module (with sealing cap, hub, transition hub, and half-shaft), the intermediate connection module (with bearing, support tube, and perforated tube cap), and the support module (with perforated support cap, support sealing cap, support assembly, and drive shaft assembly). Stainless steel oil seals between the transition hub and the half-shaft, and between the support tube and the transition hub, along with O-rings between the support components, ensure waterproof sealing. The design, with a drive shaft and gear, is robust, reduces axle load, and facilitates mounting on various types of vehicles.

[007] However, comparing the object of the patent, the present model, with the prior art, both document CN 110561976 and the present model share the objective of improving the water sealing and robustness of vehicle wheel hubs, using components such as hubs, axles and seals. However, their architectures differ; CN 110561976 A features a modular design with multi-level sealing, while the present model describes a more integrated and compact structure. OF THE MODEL Petition 870250008912, dated 03 / 02 / 2025, page 11 / 15 3 / 4

[008] The present model is a solution to the problems found in the state of the art, which consists of a protective device that can be incorporated into various reduction hubs, such as John Deere model reduction hubs. The present model is a protective and isolating device composed of a stepped structure equipped with recesses, fittings and specific seals to be applied inside a conventional reduction hub, such as a John Deere one. ADVANTAGES OF THE MODEL

[009] The present model aims to provide advantages related to protecting and isolating the mechanical components of the conventional reduction hub, such as gears and bearings, from external contaminants, such as hydraulic oil from the traction motor. It is also an advantage of the present model to maintain and preserve the lubrication of the gears and bearings of said reduction hub, as well as maintaining it at an ideal operating temperature, significantly increasing its service life. However, the present model is applied to the John Deere reduction hub model. DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[010] To aid understanding, the following figures are attached: Fig. 1: shows a perspective view of the constructive arrangement introduced in a protective and isolating device for sugarcane harvester wheel hubs, intended for John Deere models; Fig. 2: shows an inverted perspective view of the constructive arrangement introduced in a protective and isolating device for sugarcane harvester wheel hubs, intended for John Deere models; Fig. 3: shows a perspective view of the constructive arrangement introduced in a protective and isolating device for sugarcane harvester wheel hubs, aimed at John Deere models, showing a partial cutaway of the protector and isolator.
