Description

/ 4 CONFIGURATION APPLIED TO A FOLDABLE BOX BED Field of invention

[001] This utility model application applies to the furniture sector and refers to modular box beds, specifically to a structured and modular assembly for assembling these box beds. This assembly uses longitudinal sides or stringers with internal central channels, intended for connecting crossbars that support the bed frames individually, allowing simple, quick and robust assembly, with high stability and ease of transport and storage. Fundamentals of the invention and state of the art

[002] Traditionally, box spring beds are manufactured as pre-assembled pieces or with complex assembly components, which can make transportation, storage, and assembly by the end user difficult. In many existing systems, the connection between the structural elements (sides, crossbars, and bed frames) is made by screws, rigid fittings, or other mechanisms that do not provide the desired modularity. In addition, the absence of dedicated internal channels on the sides limits stability and ease of assembly, as well as hindering the replacement or customization of components.

[003] Referring to the state of the art related to patent registrations, we can cite registrations number BR 20 2021 001893-9 and BR 20 2018 075946-4, which claim a constructive arrangement applied to a box bed and a demountable base for a box bed, respectively.

[004] The first registration number BR 20 2021 001893-9 requires a box bed in EPS composed of a wooden base (1) representing 1% of the total volume, with two EPS stringers (2) and seven EPS crossbars (3) and a plywood sheet (4).

[005] The second record number BR 20 2018 075946-4 comprises a Petition 870250011408, dated 12 / 02 / 2025, page 6 / 14 / 4 demountable base (1) with two side stringers (2A), set of rectangular crossbars (2B), one outer plate (2C), two rectangular stringers (3A) with rectangular crossbars (3B), outer crossbars (4) formed by rectangular stringers (4A), rectangular crossbars (4B) and an outer plate (4D), accordion-style rectangular cover plates (5) and cylindrical support feet (6).

[006] Although theoretically functional, both registers lack modularity and ease of assembly, failing to address modern solutions for demountable structures with interchangeable parts. Furthermore, these models are pre-assembled in the factory, featuring rigid frames and permanent fixation, making adjustments difficult.

[007] In terms of logistics, monobloc systems require large spaces for transport and depend on specialized labor for assembly.

[008] Other bed proposals on the market have introduced bases that can be assembled in up to five minutes without tools, but they retain fixed bed frames and a structure dependent on external crossbars, without internal channels for dynamic adjustment and a modular set of individual bed frames.

[009] Observing the recurring problems in conventional standards, the need arose for an innovative system that allows for the uncomplicated and customizable assembly of box beds, guaranteeing robustness and practicality through a fully assembled box bed, easy to transport and even easier to assemble, including the bed slats which are installed individually. Description of the figures

[010] The present inventive act will be described in greater detail below, by way of non-limiting example, with reference to its preferred embodiment illustrated in the drawings below, in which: Figure 1 illustrates an isometric view of one of the outer stringers of the box bed. Petition 870250011408, dated 12 / 02 / 2025, page 7 / 14 / 4 showing its central channel. Figure 2 shows an isometric view of the insertion of the crossbeams into the central channel of the stringer. Figure 3 shows an isometric view and detail of the complete assembly of the box bed. Figure 4 depicts a disassembled box spring bed and the packaging used to contain all the parts. Detailed description of the invention

[011] According to Figures 1, 2 and 3, the box bed configuration is formed by stringers (2) equipped with internal rectangular central channels (2.1) that serve as devices for the insertion of crossbars (3) defined by separating protrusions (3.1) with templates (3.2) positioned on both sides and near the ends, with two crossbars (3) being inserted, which adjust and are locked into the side walls of the aforementioned central channels (2), thus forming three divisions (A, B and C) for the insertion of the bed slats (4) individually, making the box bed (1) fully mountable and dismountable, as this bed also has other known devices, such as the joining of the stringers (2) and crossbars (5) that form the bed frame using internal hinges (6 and 6') (detail A of Figure 3) capable of allowing angular displacement of up to 90°, both hinges being (6 and 6') joined by L-shaped pins (7).

[012] The new features together with the known ones are able to accommodate all parts in a compact cardboard package (8) (shown in Figure 4), making it easier and considerably increasing the number of box beds to be transported in a load.

[013] In addition to the advantages in terms of transport, the proposed box bed Petition 870250011408, dated 12 / 02 / 2025, page 8 / 14 / 4 allows for quick and intuitive assembly, without the need for specialized tools or lengthy fastening procedures; the individual assembly of the bed slats allows the user to adjust their arrangement, adapting the bed to their comfort and support needs; the secure fitting of the crossbars into the internal channels of the stringers also ensures a uniform distribution of loads, increasing the durability and stability of the bed; logistical costs are reduced, again in terms of transportation.

[014] In short, the present inventive act offers an innovative solution for box beds, providing a modular assembly system that combines ease of use, robustness and customization. By incorporating sides with internal channels for fitting the crossbars, the system ensures a stable and adaptable structure, contributing to the optimization of transport, storage and assembly by the end user. This innovation serves both the consumer market seeking practicality and the industry, which benefits from reduced logistics costs and production flexibility.

[015] It is worth noting that the inventive act in question should be understood as representative and not limiting, capable of undergoing convenient modifications and updates, provided that such modifications do not deviate from the essence of the proposal.
