Description

1 / 8 Arrangement applied to a segmented L-shaped support for adjustable wheels of tractors and similar vehicles. INTRODUCTION

[001] This utility model patent application relates to an “ARRANGEMENT APPLIED TO A SEGMENTED L-SHAPED SUPPORT FOR ADJUSTABLE WHEELS OF TRACTORS AND SIMILAR EQUIPMENT” designed to provide a longer service life compared to existing models, thanks to its simple construction, the staggered fixing on the rim, asymmetrical or aligned, which results in fewer fragile areas, both in the welding and bolting areas, prone to premature failure, especially under high stress conditions, such as impacts and high loads. FIELD OF APPLICATION

[002] The innovation applies to the agro-industrial segment, more specifically to adjustable wheels that require high resistance and durability, such as in agricultural vehicles, construction machinery and industrial equipment. CONVINCING

[003] It is known to those skilled in the art that the development of supports for adjusting tractor wheels is crucial to meet the growing demands of the agricultural sector, driven by the search for greater durability, efficiency and versatility. The need for more robust tractors, capable of operating in extreme conditions and with heavy loads, requires constant innovation in wheel adjustment systems.

[004] The use of lighter and stronger materials, topological optimization and additive manufacturing pave the way for more robust, reliable and affordable solutions. The development of more efficient and durable adjustment supports ensures greater productivity, reduces downtime due to failures and increases the service life of tractors, contributing to the economic and environmental sustainability of the agricultural sector.

[005] Optimized supports ensure reliable and consistent performance, even under extreme tractor operating conditions, providing safety and peace of mind to users. Petition 870250011612, dated 12 / 02 / 2025, page 6 / 27 2 / 8

[006] Constructively, the geometry and positioning of the support contribute to the uniform distribution of stresses, avoiding points of stress concentration and ensuring greater resistance to impacts and high loads.

[007] In this context, new technologies that overcome the limitations of conventional support models and provide an efficient and economical solution for adjustable tractor wheels and similar equipment are welcome in this segment. STATE OF THE ART

[008] The current state of the art includes some patent documents that deal with adjustable wheel supports, such as document GB 626,840 entitled “IMPROVEMENTS IN WHEEL RIMS FOR TRACTORS AND LIKE VEHICLES” which describes an adjustable wheel for vehicles, especially tractors, with a circular disc that has a series of holes and notches for fixing to the rim. This configuration allows adjustment of the disc's position relative to the rim, altering the vehicle's track width.

[009] In the document above, the presence of notches on the disc creates stress concentration points, which can compromise the wheel's resistance and lead to premature failures, especially in applications with high loads or impacts.

[010] Document GB 666,112 entitled “IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO WHEEL CONSTRUCTION” proposes a type of adjustable wheel with a circular disc that has holes and notches for fixing to the rim. The disc also has recesses that fit into pins on the rim, limiting the lateral movement of the disc.

[011] As in the previous patent, the notches in the disc can generate points of stress concentration, weakening the wheel structure and increasing the risk of failure. In addition, the fitting system of the recesses on the pins can wear out over time, compromising the stability of the assembly.

[012] The main difference between the claims of the English documents is that GB626,840 focuses on gauge adjustment flexibility, while GB 666,112 prioritizes stability and control of disc lateral movement.

[013] Document PI 8607357 A entitled “TRACTOR WHEELS” describes a gauge adjustment mechanism for tractor wheels that uses helical rails and angle brackets. The rails serve as guides for the angle brackets that support the disc. Petition 870250011612, dated 12 / 02 / 2025, page 7 / 27 3 / 8 of the wheel. With each complete turn of the track, the angle bracket moves axially, altering the position of the disc and consequently the tractor's track width.

[014] In the document above, the helical rail and angle bracket system presents greater complexity compared to conventional adjustment systems. This complexity translates into a greater number of parts, greater difficulty in manufacturing and assembly, and a higher probability of failures. In addition, the contact area between the angle brackets and the helical rails is relatively small, which can lead to stress concentration at the fastening points.

[015] Document PI 1105501-4 A2 entitled “WHEEL WITH DISC ADJUSTMENT” - describes a wheel with a spacing adjustment system that uses worm screws to move the disc axially in relation to the rim. The system allows adjustment of the vehicle's track width without the need to remove the wheel. The worm screws are arranged radially between the rim and the disc. By turning the screws, the disc moves axially, changing the track width.

[016] In the document above, the main limitation is the possibility of wear and play in the worm gear mechanism over time. This play can compromise the accuracy of the adjustment and the stability of the wheel, especially under conditions of intensive use.

[017] Document BR 102012013255-9 entitled “WHEEL WITH DISC ADJUSTMENT FOR MOTOR VEHICLE AND VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH WHEEL” - presents a wheel with a spacing adjustment system similar to PI 1105501-4 A2, but with the addition of internal nuts and slots in the disc that fit into recesses on the rim. The combination of screws, internal nuts and slots in the disc that fit into recesses on the rim allows axial movement of the disc.

[018] In the document above, despite the addition of components to improve stability, the system still relies on the worm gear mechanism, which can exhibit wear and play. Furthermore, the complexity of the system increases the number of parts and the difficulty of manufacturing and maintenance.

[019] Document MU 8602556-2 U entitled “DOUBLE WHEEL FOR TRACTORS” describes a double wheel for tractors that uses clamps to secure the outer rim to the inner rim. The system aims to facilitate the assembly and disassembly of the double wheel, Petition 870250011612, dated 12 / 02 / 2025, page 8 / 27 4 / 8 speeding up the process and reducing the need for tools. Quick-release clamps are used to connect the outer rim to the inner rim. The clamps are operated by a lever mechanism, which allows for quick attachment and release of the rims.

[020] In the document above, the use of clamps at specific points on the rim can generate stress concentration in these regions, especially during the application of high loads or impacts. Stress concentration can lead to premature wear of components, loosening of the clamps, or even structural failures. INNOVATION OBJECTIVES
