Description

1 / 6 CONSTRUCTIONAL ARRANGEMENT APPLIED TO A TRANSPORT CART FOR CLIMBING STAIRS. TECHNICAL FIELD

[001] This utility model patent application belongs to the segment of household appliances and personal transport equipment, applied in buildings without elevators, which notably aims to facilitate the transport of loads, such as supermarket purchases, from the vehicle parked in the garage of a building without an elevator to the apartment, with the least possible effort. The equipment has a suspended platform that keeps the vector of the weight force vertical, preventing the purchases from shifting. In addition, it has baskets for storage and wheels arranged in a mechanism fixed to six axles, which allows climbing the stairs more easily. HISTORY OF THE TECHNIQUE

[002] Shopping carts emerged in the 1930s in the United States as a response to the growing popularity of supermarkets and the need to facilitate the transport of large volumes of products.

[003] The invention is attributed to Sylan Goldman, an American businessman and owner of the Humpty Dumpty supermarket chain in Oklahoma. In 1937, observing that customers carried hand baskets and, when they became heavy or full, stopped shopping, Goldman had the idea of creating carts that would allow them to carry more products effortlessly. Inspired by a folding chair, he designed the first prototype of shopping carts: a metal basket on a wheeled frame. He developed the model with the help of a mechanic, Fred Young, and began using these carts in his stores.

[004] Initially, customers were reluctant to use the shopping carts. To overcome this resistance, Goldman hired models to walk around the supermarkets. Petition 870250017550, dated 06 / 03 / 2025, page 6 / 16 2 / 6 demonstrating the use of shopping carts. This strategy worked, and the use of shopping carts quickly became popular in supermarkets in the United States and, later, throughout the world.

[005] Over time, shopping carts have been improved, gaining more space, foldable models and even specialized versions for different uses, such as those used in department stores. State of the Art Analysis

[006] Research conducted in specialized databases revealed documents relating to shopping carts, such as document ngBR 112013022002-3 which deals with a SHOPPING CART, a shopping cart (1) that can be stacked with similar carts, comprising a chassis (2), a container (18) for retaining goods which is connected to the chassis (2), and a push device (2) disposed at the rear, where the chassis (2) has two longitudinal supports (3) that lead from a rear face to a front face of the shopping cart (1). A retaining device (11) for retaining a pulley (16,17) is provided at each end in the front and rear end sections of the longitudinal supports (4,4') which are connected to each other by their respective intermediate parts (4).Furthermore, the longitudinal supports (3) are arranged conically in such a way that the width of the track of the rear pulleys (17) is greater than the track width of the front pulleys (16), the two longitudinal supports (3) extend upwards and forwards from the rear end section (4') thereof and then, falling forwards towards the front end section (4), extend further in such a way that at least the intermediate section (4) of each longitudinal support (3) belongs to one of the two geometric planes (25) that extend upwards from the travel plane (26) of the pulleys (16,17). The invention is characterized by the fact that the front end sections (4) are driven outwards from the planes (25) and extend either forwards and parallel to the direction of impulse of the shopping cart (1) or in opposite directions obliquely forwards and outwards. Petition 870250017550, dated 06 / 03 / 2025, page 7 / 16 3 / 6 or are directed outwards transversely with respect to the direction of impulse of the shopping cart (1).

[007] Document no. 2BR 112015021766-4 concerning a SHOPPING CART, the present invention relates to a shopping cart that includes a frame, a plurality of wheels to support the frame for movement on a floor, an arm connected to the frame, and a protrusion positioned near at least one of the wheels. The frame has a front end and a rear end. The arm is configured to engage the towing member to move the frame. The protrusion engages the guide member to prevent the front end or the rear end from rotating over the other front end or rear end. A handle assembly may include an elongated slot positioned near a handle. The shopping cart may also include a tray that is releasably attached to the frame by inserting a projection within a slot. The shopping cart may also include a projection received within a slot to secure a basket against movement relative to the frame.

[008] Document no. 2BR 202012022281-2, which deals with a CONSTRUCTIONAL ARRANGEMENT OF A SHOPPING CART FOR CARRYING OUT AND TRANSPORTING SHOPPING, presents a utility model relating to a new constructional arrangement of a cart of the type used by consumers, preferably to transport groceries from the supermarket to their home. The cart is constructed as an articulated structure with metal tubes, and mounted on a pair of wheels (3), and its size can be reduced for accommodation inside a vehicle; and the cart has containers in the form of fabric bags (13), which are closed at the top by means of a zipper or compatible means. The bags (13) are fixed non-permanently to the cart structure by means of hooks (12), and this fixation is made from the handles (14) of the bags (13).

[009] Although the models presented belong to the same segment of activity, they have distinct functions and applications. Conventional carts, for example, do not allow climbing stairs, which makes their use in buildings without stairs unfeasible. Petition 870250017550, dated 06 / 03 / 2025, page 8 / 16 4 / 6 elevator. Furthermore, in cases of steep inclines, purchases tend to fall out of the cart.

[010] Thus, it is a fact that the documents cited in the paragraphs above, despite belonging to the same field of application, do not present any of the characteristics of the object now improved, thus guaranteeing that it meets the legal requirements for patentability. BRIEF DESCRIPTION
