1 / 4 CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT INTRODUCED IN FISHING WEIGHT
[001] This utility model patent relates to a new constructive arrangement introduced in fishing weights, belonging to the area of equipment and accessories for fishing in general, more particularly to weighting devices of the fishing weight type, with quick change, through a constructive arrangement that allows its quick attachment which eliminates the need to cut the line for replacement, thus providing very advantageous practical, safe and functional results.
[002] Currently, in the state of the art, sinkers are known that use two predominant methods of attachment to the fishing line: - Knot fastening: where the line is passed through a hole and tied, requiring cutting and a new knot for replacement; - Fastening by crimping: in which the sinker has a lateral slit and is mechanically deformed to attach to the line, requiring straightening or cutting for removal, and may cause damage to the line.
[003] These methods have drawbacks such as: - The need to cut the production line, resulting in material waste and the generation of residue; Weakening of the line due to knots or deformations; - Time-consuming and impractical exchange during fishing.
[004] Therefore, the great challenge of the state of the art is to create a sinker system that allows for quick attachment and removal without cutting the line, while maintaining safety, durability, practicality, and low production cost. In this sense, there is no knowledge of documents that describe a system that allows the replacement of sinkers of different weights without cutting the line, through quick and safe mechanical fitting. [005] Thus, seeking to solve the problems of the state of the art, the present innovation consists of a sinker with a central hole and a longitudinal lateral slot narrower than the diameter of the hole, combined with a polymeric conical pin provided with a through hole for the line and a head of larger diameter, where the taper of the pin allows interference locking, ensuring firm fixation and manual release without tools, eliminating the need to cut the line, solving the aforementioned inconveniences, in addition to providing other advantages resulting from its design.
[006] The present utility model patent will be better understood through the attached drawings which schematically represent: Figure 1 - Perspective view of the new constructive arrangement introduced in a fishing sinker, with the sinker and the fixing pin separated; Figure 2 - Perspective view of the sinker being mounted on the fishing line; Figure 3 - perspective view of the sinker mounted on the fishing line; and Figure 4 - perspective view of the sinker assembly.
[007] According to figures 1 to 3, the new constructive arrangement introduced in fishing weights comprises the weight (1) itself, preferably made of lead or equivalent alloy, which may have a cylindrical, spherical, elongated or hydrodynamic shape, coupled to a fishing line (L), and fixed by a fixing pin (2), where the weight (1) has a central hole (11) through longitudinally and a lateral slot (12) that connects the outer surface to the hole, this slot being narrower than the diameter of the hole. The pin is abrasion and weather resistant, formed by a conical body (21), equipped at one end with a head (22) of Petition 870250079739, dated 05 / 09 / 2025, page 7 / 15 3 / 4 larger diameter to limit its insertion and through hole (23), axial for line passage.
[008] According to figure 4, with the fishing sinker, as designed, its attachment and replacement become very simple and without the need to cut the line, where we have the following assembly and use: - The fishing line (L) is inserted through the through hole (23) of the fixing pin (2); - Position the line (L) in the side slot (12) of the sinker (1), fitting it into the central hole (11); - The pin (2) is inserted into the central hole (11), pressing the conical body (21) until the interference lock, resulting from the conicity, securely holds the weight.
[009] The replacement is done by manually removing the pin, taking out the weight and placing another of the desired weight.
[010] The new constructive arrangement introduced in fishing weights, thus conceived, offers the following advantages in relation to its counterparts known until now: - It provides a quick and efficient exchange; - There is no need to cut the line to change the sinker; - Allows for weight replacement without the use of tools; - Allows the use of weights of different weights with the same pin, maintaining the integrity of the line and without generating waste; - It results in less wasted fishing line; - It prevents the waste of fishing line scraps that are often improperly discarded in the river, polluting it since polymers take an average of 600 years to decompose in that environment.
