Description
Constructive arrangement applied to a gas monitoring and control system. Innovation field
[001] The present innovation falls within the field of electronic security and home and industrial automation systems, more specifically in leak detection devices and automated control of fuel gas supply, with integration to wireless networks and mobile devices. History of innovation
[002] The consumption of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and natural gas (NG) in residential and industrial environments presents risks associated with leaks, overheating of equipment and unexpected depletion of the reservoir.
[003] It is observed that electronic devices intended for monitoring the gas level in reservoirs, with remote communication via mobile application, are already known in the state of the art, such as application PI102025000571-9 entitled Device for monitoring gas in reservoirs, which describes a system for measuring the mass of the reservoir and sending alerts to the user about the residual gas level.
[004] However, such solutions operate exclusively at the informational level, without promoting any automatic intervention in the gas supply or physical blocking in risky situations.
[005] The present innovation, in turn, proposes an integrated active monitoring and control system that combines leak, temperature and pressure sensors with an electronically controlled solenoid valve, capable of autonomously and immediately interrupting the gas flow, preventing the occurrence of fires and explosions. [006] Figure 1 presents a functional diagram of the communication between the gas sensor (1), pressure sensor (3), temperature sensor (2), control board (4), solenoid valve (5) and mobile application (8). Detailed description of the innovation
[007] The present innovation relates to a constructive arrangement applied to a gas monitoring and control system, intended for the continuous supervision of leaks, temperature and reservoir level, comprising an electronic control board provided with a microcontroller and wireless communication module, connected to a set of sensors and an automatic shut-off solenoid valve.
[008] The sensor suite comprises: • Gas sensor (1), configured to detect the concentration of methane (CH4) or other combustible gases in the environment. When the concentration exceeds a predefined limit, the sensor generates an analog signal that is converted and processed by the control board. • Temperature sensor (2), installed near the combustion source or stove, designed to identify abrupt or abnormal variations in ambient temperature, sending signals to the microcontroller to trigger alarms or block. • Pressure sensor (3), coupled to the gas cylinder or line, configured to monitor the internal pressure of the reservoir and estimate the remaining gas volume, periodically transmitting data to the control unit.
[009] The control board (4) acts as the logical core of the system, integrating the signals from the sensors (1, 2 and 3) by means of an embedded algorithm that executes decision routines based on pre-established safety parameters. Petition 870250103692, dated 12 / 11 / 2025, page 7 / 14 / 4
[010] When a critical value of leakage, overheating or abnormal pressure is detected, the microcontroller sends an electrical deactivation command to the solenoid valve (5), immediately interrupting the gas flow in the supply line.
[011] The solenoid valve (5) is designed to remain open during normal operation and to close automatically upon loss of control signal, power cut or activation of safety mode, ensuring redundant physical gas shutoff in emergency situations.
[012] The system also includes an alarm module which can be audible and / or visual, activated simultaneously with the closing of the valve. The control board (4) also sends, via wireless communication module, preferably Wi-Fi, a notification to the mobile application (8), informing of the occurrence of the event and the type of risk detected.
[013] The mobile application (8) constitutes the remote supervision interface of the system, displaying in real time the sensor readings, the valve status and the alert history. In addition to the monitoring mode, the application can allow manual actuation of the valve or configuration of safety parameters, such as temperature limits and gas concentration.
[014] In an optional configuration, the application can establish communication with gas suppliers, allowing automatic replenishment of the tank when the level reaches a minimum value, as defined by the user.
[015] The control logic implemented on the board may include redundancy and self-diagnostic functions, capable of detecting sensor failures and generating preventive maintenance alerts.
[016] The constructive arrangement of the system can present two main configurations according to the location of the gas cylinder in relation to the control module. In the first configuration, when the cylinder is installed close Petition 870250103692, dated 12 / 11 / 2025, page 8 / 14 / 4 to the control unit, the connection between the cylinder, the solenoid valve and the control board is made through direct electrical wiring, ensuring physical communication and immediate system response. In the second configuration, when the cylinder is installed at a distance that makes wiring unfeasible, the construction arrangement may include an additional control board, installed next to the cylinder, which receives signals from the sensors and controls the solenoid valve, transmitting information and control instructions to the central board via wireless connectivity, preferably via Wi-Fi, and may also operate via other communication protocols (Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRa), maintaining the functional integrity of the system even in decentralized installations.
