Description

MODULAR TRASH BIN FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] This application generally relates to trash bins for storage, transportation, and disposal of various waste. BACKGROUND

[0002] Various types of containers exist for hauling large quantities of waste to a disposal site, with common types including roll-off dumpsters and trash trailers.

[0003] Roll-off dumpsters generally have solids walls and a solid floor but an open top. While the walls and floor of such dumpsters provide some containment of debris, open-top nature of conventional dumpsters results in any waste within the dumpster being only partially contained and / or some users may fill the dumpster with trash above the height of the walls. Dumpsters may be carried by a specialized truck, which includes equipment for loading and unloading the dumpster, but the mobility of dumpsters is limited – in the absence of such specialized trucks, dumpsters generally cannot be moved, and the ability to transport such dumpsters is reliant on the availability of the specialized trucks.

[0004] Trash trailers are generally a rectangular cage with wheels and designed for bumper pull. Similar to dumpsters, a single trash trailer may be pulled by a single vehicle. Unlike dumpsters, the trash trailers may securely contain material within the cage. However, because the cage is the trailer itself, most trailer designs do not allow for complete dumping and require a person to physically step into the unit and rake debris out. SUMMARY

[0005] Embodiments covered by this patent are defined by the claims below, not this summary. This summary is a high-level overview of various embodiments and introduces some of the concepts that are further described in the Detailed Description section below. This summary is not intended to identify key or essential features of the claimed subject matter, nor is it intended to be used in isolation to determine the scope of the claimed subject matter. The subject matter should be understood by reference to appropriate portions of the entire specification of this patent, any or all drawings, and each claim. 1

[0006] According to certain embodiments, a modular trash bin includes a base, a plurality of side walls, and a top wall. The top wall and / or at least one of the plurality of side walls may include a frame and a mesh material.
