[0002] A device for breast feeding and breast pumping mothers to provide directed medicine and treatment for the nipples and other wounds. This invention is to be used by breast feeding and breast pumping mothers to provide directed treatment directly to the nipple area via a specially designed pad to deliver a topical application and absorb any discharging matter. This invention can also be utilized for other types of wounds for both human and nonhuman use.Background of prior art
[0003] Around 140 million human babies are born in this world every year, with 3.7 million being born in the U.S. alone. The benefits of breastfeeding are widely recognized as the best form of nutrition for infants as well as providing health benefits to the mother. Breastfeeding is recommended for at least the first 12 months of life by many health organizations. The top benefits of breastfeeding are complete nutrition for offspring, immune system support, bonding between breast feeder and infant, convenience and cost-effectiveness, and a reduced risk of chronic diseases such as certain cancers, type 2 diabetes, lower risk of obesity, and even asthma. But alongside the benefits of breastfeeding come some significant unpleasantries and pains. Thedownsides of breastfeeding can be the pain and discomfort of sore nipples, engorgement and / or mastitis; dietary restrictions of the mother since certain foods and substances can pass through the breastmilk to the baby; breastfeeding can tie the mother to the baby’s feeding schedule; lack of privacy when needing to breastfeed or pump; and the potential for other complications such as the infant having difficulty latching or sucking effectively.
[0004] Breast pumping can offer flexibility and convenience for mothers who choose to feed their babies breastmilk but choose not to breastfeed directly. Pumping can offer several benefits including but not limited to: flexibility, shared feeding responsibilities, maintaining a milk supply, overcoming breastfeeding difficulties, and extended breastfeeding duration. Since breastmilk can be stored and fed to the baby later by caregivers, allowing mothers more freedom to work, travel, or engage in other activities. Pumped breastmilk enables others in the household or caregiving the baby to participate in feeding the baby which encourages bonding and allowing for the mother to do other activities or rest. Regular pumping sessions can help maintain or increase milk supply, especially for mothers who struggle with low milk production or breastfeeding challenges. Pumping provides an alternative feeding method for babies having difficulty latching on or feeding directly. Pumping also allows mothers to continue providing breastmilk to their babies even after returning to work or when there are other things that get in the way of direct breastfeeding. There are downsides to breast pumping as well though: timeconsuming, cost, discomfort, emotional challenges, and risk of milk contamination. Pumping breast mile requires time to setup, pumping, cleaning the pump, and storing the milk, which can be difficult for mothers with busy schedules. Breast pumps and accessories can be expensive, and the cost may not be covered by insurance, making pumping a financial challenge for some. Some women find pumping uncomfortable or painful, particularly if they experienceengorgement, blocked ducts, or nipple sensitivity. For some mothers, exclusively pumping can feel isolating or emotionally taxing, as it lacks the physical and emotional bonding experienced during direct breastfeeding. Improper handling or storage of pumped milk can increase the risk of contamination or spoilage, potentially compromising the safety and quality of the milk for the baby.

Professionals, mothers and caregivers all over the world know that healthy breastmilk is the top food source for babies, especially nutritionally. Sore nipples, mastitis, engorgement and other issues with the nipple and breast tissues will continue to plague mothers everywhere but they will continue to battle these issues for the sake of their offspring. There are numerous creams for many of these ailments and absorbent nursing pads but nothing exists that combines both into one application that effectively delivers topical applications to help alleviate the pain and discomforts of breastfeeding and pumping.
[0006] Currently, there are no dually absorbent and medicated pads on the market. You can buy them separately but not as one item. Many breastfeeding or breast-pumping mothers express a need for more customized and multifunctional solutions that address their unique challenges. For example, an antimicrobial absorbent layer reduces bacterial growth, improving hygiene and safety. Additionally, hypoallergenic adhesives and customizable shapes and sizes ensure comfort and compatibility for diverse users. Other helpful features include a controlled- release barrier for sustained therapeutic delivery and a protective layer to maintain the integrity of the center portion during handling or use. Fragrance-free options and preservative-enhanced formulations would further cater to individuals with sensitivities or storage concerns. This invention solves this problem by adding an absorbent center with an absorbent outer area; thereisn't a need for what was once only obtainable in separate items. Currently, when you use nipple cream and then put an absorbent pad in your bra, the absorbent pad absorbs the ointment, and it isn't on your nipple any longer, and the medication or topical medium isn’t able to effectively achieve the desired result.DESCRIPTION
[0007] Disclosed herein is an invention that seeks to deliver a topical medium for nipple and breast ailments associated with breastfeeding and / or pumping. This invention can also be used for treatment of other types of wounds. This invention additionally comprises an absorptive feature beyond the delivery of added medication or other topical treatment.

The invention relates generally to devices that are to be used on the breast and particularly the nipple area but could also be applied to other areas of the body and types of wounds.

The consistency needs to be smooth, and not too soft where it melts away. It needs to be stable enough to sit in place. It also needs to be baby safe so the moms don't need to worry about having to wash the ointment off before feeding the baby. The composition may also include preservatives to extend shelf life and fragrance- free options to accommodate users sensitive to scents or adhesive components. The outer portion will be an absorbent organic cotton or similar material.

Claims
CLAIMSIndependent Claim 11. A device for providing directed treatment and absorption for breastfeeding or breast pumping mothers, the device comprising: An at least one or more absorbent outer portion configured to capture and retain fluids; an at least one or more medication retention and delivery center portion capable of containing an at least one or more treatment composition for application to an at least or or more nipple; an at least one or more barrier portion positioned between said at least one or more medication retention and delivery center portion and said at least one or more absorbent outer portion, configured to prevent transfer of said at least one or more treatment composition to said at least one or more absorbent outer portion; an at least one or more adhesive portion for securing said device to the intended surface; wherein said at least one or more medication retention and delivery center portion is designed to deliver protection and therapeutic ingredients directly to said at least one or more nipple area while maintaining structural stability under normal usage conditions; wherein said at least one or more medication retention and delivery center portion is separated by said at least one or more adhesive portion by said at least one or more barrier portion and said at least one or more absorbent outer portion to prevent tearing of the skin when said device is removed.Dependent Claims2. The device of claim 1, wherein said at least one or more medication retention and delivery center portion comprises an at least one or more composition of materials capable of retaining and disbursing user-applied treatment composition.
3. The device of claim 1 , wherein said at least one or more barrier comprises an at least one or more selectively-permeable material to prevent leakage of said at least one or more treatment composition into said at least one or more absorbent outer portion.
4. The device of claim 1, wherein said at least one or more adhesive perimeter portion is hypoallergenic and designed to conform to an at least one or more skin types.
5. The device of claim 1, wherein said at least one or more absorbent outer portion is composed of an at least one or more organic biodegradable material.
6. The device of claim 1, further comprising an at least one concaved area in said at least one or more medication retention and delivery center portion, configured to accommodate said at least one or more nipple and prevent direct pressure on damaged tissue.
7. The device of claim 1, wherein said at least one or more absorbent outer portion includes an at least one or more antimicrobial properties to reduce bacterial growth.
8. The device of claim 1, further comprising an at least one or more additional protective layer positioned over said at least one or more medication retention and delivery center portion to enhance durability.
9. The device of claim 1, wherein said at least one or more adhesive perimeter portion includes at least one or more ergonomic contour notch to prevent wrinkling when accommodating curved surfaces.
10. The device of claim 1 , wherein said at least one or more barrier is configured to allow partial permeability for controlled release of said at least one or more treatment composition.11 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said at least one or more absorbent outer portion is designed to wick moisture away from said at least one or more medication retention and delivery center portion to maintain dryness at an at least one or more application site.
12. The device of claim 1, further comprising customizable sizes and shapes of said at least one or more device to accommodate an at least one or more anatomical needs.
13. The device of claim 1, further comprising an at least one or more fragrance-free formulation for users with an at least one or more chemical sensitivities.
14. The device of claim 1, further comprising an at least one or more folding section for sterile storage prior to use.
15. The device of claim 1, wherein said at least one or more medication retention and delivery center portion is designed to detach from said at least one or more application site without damage to healing tissue.
16. The device of claim 1, wherein said at least one or more medication retention and delivery center portion is comprised of an at least one or more single-sided silicon tape to prevent adhesion to damaged tissue.
