Description

[0001] RAIL ARRANGEMENT OF AN OVERHEAD CONVEYOR DEVICE

[0002] The invention relates to a rail arrangement of an overhead conveyor device for self-propelled transport carriers for transporting hanging goods in an order-picking system. The rail arrangement comprises a travel structure which comprises or forms a power supply and a travel surface for the self-propelled transport carriers. Furthermore, the invention relates to a modular rail system for constructing such a rail arrangement. Furthermore, the invention relates to an overhead conveyor device for transporting hanging goods in an order-picking system, which comprises a rail arrangement of the type mentioned above and a plurality of self-propelled transport carriers travelling thereon or therein. Finally, the invention relates to an order-picking system with a storage area for storing goods, a picking area for picking goods according to orders, and an overhead conveyor device of the type mentioned connecting the storage area and the picking area.

[0003] A rail arrangement, a modular rail system, an overhead conveyor device, and a picking system of the aforementioned type are generally known. The self-propelled transport carriers travel along the rail arrangement to transport hanging goods of this type. The hanging goods can be goods conveyed in hanging bags or goods hung directly on a hanging goods carrier. The latter particularly refers to items of clothing on coat hooks; however, these can also be additionally surrounded by hanging bags for better protection. Setting up such a rail arrangement can sometimes be difficult, and modifications or extensions are therefore only possible with corresponding expenditure.

[0004] An object of the invention is therefore to provide an improved rail arrangement, an improved modular rail system, an improved overhead conveyor device, and an improved order-picking system. In particular, the construction, conversion, and expansion of a rail arrangement, an overhead conveyor device, or an order-picking system should be facilitated.

[0005] The object of the invention is achieved by a rail arrangement of the type described above, comprising a (first) travel structure which comprises or forms a power supply and a travel surface for the self-propelled transport carriers, and a (first) support rail, wherein the travel structure is fastened directly or indirectly to the support rail.

[0006] Furthermore, the object of the invention is achieved by a modular rail system of a hanging conveyor device for self-propelled transport carriers for transporting hanging goods in an order-picking system (modular rail system or "kit of parts" for producing a rail arrangement), comprising at least one travel structure which comprises or forms a power supply and a travel surface for the self-propelled transport carriers, and at least one support rail, wherein the at least one travel structure is fastened directly or indirectly to the support rail.

[0007] Furthermore, the object of the invention is achieved by a hanging conveyor device for transporting hanging goods in a picking system, which comprises a rail arrangement of the type mentioned above and several self-propelled transport carriers traveling thereon or therein.

[0008] Finally, the object of the invention is achieved by an order picking system of the type mentioned above, in which the overhead conveyor device connecting the storage area and the order picking area is designed as described above.

[0009] The proposed measures, particularly the modular design, significantly simplify the assembly, modification, and expansion of a rail system, overhead conveyor system, or order picking system. Only a small number of different and intercombinable components are required, which also simplifies and reduces the cost of manufacturing and storing the required components themselves.

[0010] The rail arrangement or overhead conveyor system can be used not only for transporting hanging goods, but also for sorting and / or buffering or storing goods. This can be particularly beneficial in conjunction with a picking system.

[0011] The self-propelled transport carriers are electrically powered and, in particular, have pantographs, which can be used to draw electrical energy from the power supply of the running structure. The power supply of the running structure can have several mutually insulated sliding surfaces, which have different electrical voltage potentials during operation of the rail arrangement and on which the pantographs of the transport carriers slide. An electric motor drives the wheels of the transport carriers, which roll along the running surface. A transport carrier can have one (single) wheel axle or multiple wheel axles.

[0012] Further advantageous embodiments and developments of the invention emerge from the subclaims and from the description in conjunction with the figures.

[0013] Preferably, the rail arrangement of the overhead conveyor device for self-propelled transport carriers for transporting hanging goods in the order picking system can comprise a (first) support rail with a groove on the underside, running in the longitudinal direction of the support rail and in particular dovetail-shaped or T-shaped, a (first) support element which is suspended in the groove, and a (first) travel structure which comprises or forms a power supply and a travel surface for the self-propelled transport carriers and which is fastened directly or indirectly to the support rail via the support element. The use of the groove can facilitate assembly, conversion, and expansion in particular. This allows the travel structure to be easily assembled from below, whereby the use of scaffolding is not necessarily required.

[0014] Preferably, the modular rail system can comprise at least one support rail with a groove running in the longitudinal direction of the support rail and in particular dovetail-shaped or T-shaped, which is arranged on the underside of the support rail in the assembled state, at least one support element which can be suspended in the groove, and at least one travel structure which comprises or forms a power supply and a travel surface for the self-propelled transport carriers and which can be fastened to the support rail directly or indirectly via the support element.

[0015] It is advantageous if the (first) travel structure comprises a (first) ring-, U- or H-shaped retaining clamp, seen in the longitudinal direction of the support rail, which retaining clamp is fastened to the support rail, a conductor rail which is mounted on the inside in the retaining clamp and aligned in the longitudinal direction of the support rail, which conductor rail is comprised of or forms the power supply for the self-propelled transport carriers, and a travel rail which is mounted at a distance below the conductor rail on the inside in the retaining clamp and aligned in the longitudinal direction of the support rail and which comprises or forms the travel surface for the self-propelled transport carriers.

[0016] Accordingly, only a very small number of different components are required to construct such a rail arrangement.

[0017] Preferably, the conductor rail and the running rail are held by two retaining clips arranged in the end areas. In principle, however, the use of more than two retaining clips per conductor rail and running rail is also possible. Due to the proposed measures, the conductor rail and the running rail preferably do not require a (direct) connection to the support rail or the supporting element. In addition, the vertical distance between the conductor rail and the running rail is preferably achieved by one or more retaining clips. It is generally advantageous if the retaining clip is made of plastic. This allows it to be manufactured efficiently. It is also advantageous if two running rails run parallel in pairs with a transverse distance from each other and form a running rail arrangement. This creates a slot between the two running rails through which a supporting structure of the self-propelled transport carrier can protrude.

[0018] Preferably, the retaining clip can be attached to the (first) support rail by means of the (first) support element. This allows for a particularly simple, flexible attachment of the retaining clip to the support rail.

[0019] It is also particularly advantageous if the groove, in particular the groove of the (first) support rail, is dovetail-shaped and the support element is designed in two parts and comprises two support plates bent at an obtuse angle, which are folded together at one of their legs and form a Y-shaped support element, wherein the folded legs are aligned vertically in the assembled state and the obliquely running legs come to lie in oblique support surfaces of the dovetail-shaped groove of the support rail.

[0020] This makes it easy to produce a support element for the dovetail-shaped groove, as it only requires bending two strips of sheet metal. The arrangement of the sheets creates a support element that cannot slip out of the groove and centers itself. The assembly of the support element is also extremely simple. In a first step, a first support plate is hooked into the groove. In a further step, a second support plate is hooked into the groove at a different longitudinal position on the support rail. Then the two support plates are pushed over one another to form the Y-shaped support element. No tools are required for this, meaning the support element can be assembled without tools.

[0021] It is also particularly advantageous if the groove, especially the groove of the (first) support rail, has a projection at each of the outer ends of the inclined support surfaces, which interact with the support plates and prevent the support plates from tipping. This prevents a support plate from falling out of the groove even if it is not supported by a second support plate, further simplifying the assembly of the support element.

[0022] It is furthermore advantageous if the support plates each have a recess on their folded legs, which are arranged in alignment with one another, and the first driving structure or the retaining clamp is connected to the support element by means of a bolt or a screw, which is guided through the recesses.

[0023] This allows the first mobile structure or the retaining clamp to be attached to the support element using simple technical means. Especially when using a bolt, the mobile structure can be attached to the support element without the need for tools. The connection between the support element and the first mobile structure or the retaining clamp is "indirect." However, this connection could also be "direct" (i.e., without the use of an additional element such as a bolt or screw).

[0024] Preferably, it can be provided that the (first) rolling structure comprises an undercut groove, in particular extending in the longitudinal direction of the (first) support rail, that a fastening means is arranged on the (first) support rail, wherein the fastening means can engage in the groove of the (first) rolling structure, and that the (first) rolling structure is fastened to the (first) support rail by means of the fastening means. The arrangement of the groove on the first rolling structure allows for particularly rapid fastening and replacement of the rolling structure from below.

[0025] The fastening means can preferably be a screw, in particular a hammer-head screw. The fastening means can preferably comprise a nut. In particular when designed as a hammer-head screw, the hammer-shaped head end of the hammer-head screw can be introduced into the groove of the (first) travel structure and a threaded section of the hammer-head screw can be passed through a hole in the support rail and protrude therefrom, wherein the hammer-head screw is preferably held to the support rail by means of the nut. Due to the hammer-shaped head end of the hammer-head screw, the (first) travel structure with the undercut groove can be coupled or uncoupled from the (first) support rail particularly easily by simply turning the hammer-head screw such that the hammer-shaped head end engages in the groove.

[0026] Preferably, the undercut groove of the (first) travel structure, in particular in a state of the (first) travel structure being fastened to the support rail, runs in the longitudinal direction of the (first) support rail.

[0027] Preferably, the undercut groove of the (first) running structure, in particular when the (first) running structure is fastened to the support rail, can run transversely to the longitudinal direction of the (first) support rail.

[0028] Preferably, the fastening means can comprise an adjusting means, wherein a predeterminable distance between the (first) support rail and the (first) travel structure, in particular the (first) retaining clamp, can be adjusted by means of the adjusting means. This allows for particularly simple and quick leveling or a flat alignment of the first travel structure, in particular the retaining clamp. This allows drive energy to be saved during operation of the overhead conveyor device due to unnecessary height differences, in particular due to travel on the travel surfaces.

[0029] Preferably, the adjusting means can be a threaded portion of a screw, in particular a hammer-head screw. The predeterminable distance between the (first) support rail and the (first) travel structure can preferably be adjusted by means of the nut, in particular the position of the nut on the threaded portion. Preferably, any other adjusting means suitable for adjusting a distance between the (first) support rail and the (first) travel structure can also be used, for example, a rack and a gear or a rod-shaped component and a clamping device.

[0030] Preferably, the undercut groove of the (first) travel structure, particularly extending in the longitudinal direction, is formed on the (first) retaining clip. This allows for particularly simple and quick replacement of the (first) retaining clip by simply loosening the fastening means and removing the (first) retaining clip. This eliminates the need for laborious removal of the (first) retaining clip from a guide rail. This also reduces production costs compared to a support with a continuous groove.

[0031] Preferably, the undercut groove of the (first) travel structure can be arranged on the (first) retaining clip on an upper side of the (first) retaining clip. The upper side is preferably the side that faces the (first) support rail when the (first) retaining clip is attached to the (first) support rail.

[0032] It is also advantageous if the conductor rail and / or the guide rail are mounted in the retaining clip without screws. In other words, the conductor rail and / or the guide rail are simply inserted or pushed into the retaining clip, making assembly of the travel structure particularly easy.

[0033] It is also advantageous if the support rail, the conductor rail, and / or the running rail are designed as hollow sections. This makes these components comparatively lightweight, making them easy to install while also reducing the weight on the supporting structure.

[0034] Preferably, the rail arrangement can comprise a (first) switch or crossing module, which is coupled to the first travel structure and has multiple lanes running in different directions. This allows the self-propelled transport carriers to change their direction or lane.

[0035] For example, the first switch or crossing module may comprise a connecting flange, a travel platform, a power supply platform and a spacer, wherein the travel platform is arranged at a distance below the power supply platform and is connected thereto via the connecting flange and the spacer, wherein the travel platform is coupled to the travel rail of the travel structure and the power supply platform is coupled to the power rail of the travel structure, and wherein the travel tracks running in different directions are arranged in the travel platform and the power supply platform.

[0036] This means that the characteristics of the running structure are continued in the area of the first switch or crossing module, allowing the self-propelled transport carriers to switch seamlessly from a running structure to a switch or crossing module and back.

[0037] In particular, the driving platform can comprise an inner driving platform and an outer driving platform, with the inner driving platform being connected to the power supply platform via the spacer, and the outer driving platform being connected to the power supply platform via the connecting flange. This allows a slot to be provided between the inner and outer driving platforms, through which a support structure of the self-propelled transport carrier can protrude. The power supply platform can also be constructed in one piece, making it particularly easy to manufacture.

[0038] The first switch or crossing module can preferably be attached to the support rail directly or indirectly, in particular via the first support element or a second support element. This allows a weight force caused by the first switch or crossing module to be transmitted directly to the support rail.

[0039] In particular, the first switch or crossing module can have a second retaining clamp in which the travel platform and the power supply platform are mounted, wherein the second retaining clamp is fastened to the support rail by means of the first support element or by means of the second support element, or wherein the second retaining clamp comprises an undercut groove, running in particular in the longitudinal direction of the first support rail, wherein a (further) fastening means is arranged on the first support rail, wherein the (further) fastening means can engage in the groove of the second retaining clamp, and wherein the second retaining clamp is fastened to the (first) support rail by means of the (further) fastening means. As a result, three options for fastening the second retaining clamp can be easily implemented. The retaining clamp thus fulfills multiple purposes, serving not only to create a running structure but also to hold a switch or crossing module. Preferably, the additional fastening means can be designed in the same way as the fastening means.

[0040] If the groove in the support rail is dovetail-shaped or T-shaped, the second support element in the above embodiments of the switch or crossing module can in particular be designed in two parts and in turn comprise two support plates bent at an obtuse angle, which are folded together at one of their legs and form a Y-shaped support element, wherein the folded legs are aligned vertically in the assembled state and the obliquely running legs come to lie in oblique supporting surfaces of the dovetail-shaped groove.

[0041] Preferably, the first retaining clip and the second retaining clip can be connected to one another, in particular screwed together in the longitudinal direction of the support rail. This results in a particularly stable construction of the rail arrangement.

[0042] A spacer and / or an end piece for the guide rail can also be provided between the first retaining clamp and the second retaining clamp. The end piece serves, in particular, to facilitate the threading of a transport carrier into the guide rail arrangement when it extends out of the area of the switch or crossing module. The end piece can have appropriate ramps for this purpose.

[0043] Preferably, the rail arrangement can comprise a second support rail, which runs parallel to the first support rail at a transverse distance, wherein a width of the first switch or crossing module perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the support rail corresponds to this transverse distance. This makes it possible for the track running perpendicular to the first and a second running structure to be formed exclusively by the switch or crossing modules. The transverse distance is measured from the center of the first support rail to the center of the second support rail, or from the center of the first running structure to the center of the second running structure.

[0044] It is also advantageous if the first switch or crossing module is positioned centrally with respect to the support rail, perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the support rail. This results in a symmetrical design of the rail arrangement. It is also particularly advantageous if the first switch or crossing module is rotationally symmetrical about its vertical axis with respect to a rotation angle of 90°. This further increases the symmetry in the rail arrangement, and the first switch or crossing module can be used flexibly.

[0045] It is also advantageous if the rail arrangement includes a second switch or crossing module, which is coupled to the first switch or crossing module and has multiple lanes running in different directions. This also allows for more complex lane or track designs for the self-propelled transport vehicles.

[0046] In particular, the second switch or crossing module can have all of the aforementioned features of the first switch or crossing module, or parts thereof. In other words, the two switch or crossing modules can be identically constructed or at least similar to each other.

[0047] Preferably, a second driving structure, to which the second switch or crossing module is coupled, can be provided, wherein the two switch or crossing modules have or form a lane running transversely to the first and second driving structure.

[0048] Preferably, it can be provided that the lane running transversely to the first and second driving structure is formed exclusively by the switch or crossing modules.

[0049] Preferably, it can be provided that the second switch or crossing module comprises a connecting flange, a travel platform, a power supply platform and a spacer, wherein the travel platform is arranged at a distance below the power supply platform and is connected to the latter via the connecting flange and the spacer, wherein the travel platform is coupled to the travel rail of the second travel structure and the power supply platform is coupled to the power rail of the second travel structure and wherein the travel tracks running in different directions are arranged in the travel platform and the power supply platform.

[0050] Preferably, the power supply platform of the second switch or crossing module can be coupled to the power supply platform of the first switch or crossing module, and the driving platform of the second switch or crossing module can be coupled to the driving platform of the first switch or crossing module. It is also conceivable for the power supply platform of the second switch or crossing module to be coupled to the conductor rail of the second running structure, and for the driving platform of the second switch or crossing module to be coupled to the running rail of the second running structure. This also enables complex rail arrangement structures.

[0051] The disclosed arrangements are not limited to two running structures and two switch or crossing modules. Rather, it is also possible for the disclosed arrangements to be repeated recursively across the first and second running structures. In this case, the second running structure replaces the first running structure, and another running structure replaces the second running structure. Furthermore, the second switch or crossing module replaces the first switch or crossing module, and another switch or crossing module replaces the second switch or crossing module. More than two switch or crossing modules can also be arranged (directly) one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the support rail. This creates a matrix-like arrangement of switch or crossing modules that can be directly connected to one another (i.e., without an intermediate running structure).

[0052] It is also advantageous if the connecting flanges of the first and second switch or crossing modules are connected, in particular screwed together. This results in a stable structure for a combination of several switch or crossing modules.

[0053] It is also advantageous if the connecting flanges have interlocking elements that ensure alignment of the connecting flanges with respect to one another. For example, the interlocking elements can be designed as a tongue and groove, a hole and pin, an inner cone and an outer cone, or a connector, and ensure alignment of the connecting flanges with respect to one another in the horizontal and / or vertical direction.

[0054] In general, it is possible for the connecting flanges of the first and second switch or crossing modules to be free of any attachment to the support rail, or for at least one of the first and second switch or crossing modules to have a second retaining clip which is arranged adjacent to the connecting flanges and in which the travel platform and the power supply platform are mounted, wherein the second retaining clip is attached to the support rail by means of the first support element or by means of the second support element, or wherein the second retaining clip comprises an undercut groove, in particular running in the longitudinal direction of the first support rail, wherein a (further) fastening means is arranged on the (first) support rail, wherein the (further) fastening means can engage in the groove of the second retaining clip, and that the second retaining clip is attached to the (first) support rail by means of the (further) fastening means.

[0055] If the connecting flanges of the first and second switch or crossing modules are free from attachment to the support rail, the connection between two switch or crossing modules is self-supporting, simplifying the construction of the rail assembly. If a second retaining clamp is provided, a force acting at the connection point of the switch or crossing modules is transferred into the support rail, resulting in a particularly stable construction of the rail assembly.

[0056] Preferably, the rail arrangement can comprise several vertical uprights and horizontal crossbeams extending between them, which are connected to the uprights. The support rails rest on the crossbeams and run at right angles to them. This results in a comparatively simple construction of the rail arrangement. In particular, this avoids complex installation on a ceiling.

[0057] It is advantageous if the vertical uprights have recesses into which the supporting claws of the crossbeams engage. This allows for tool-free assembly of the support structure. It is particularly advantageous if the recesses are designed as elongated slots, each of which runs diagonally from the top to the center of the upright. This draws the crossbeam toward the uprights due to the weight acting on it, thus ensuring or improving the stability of the arrangement.

[0058] Preferably, the distance between two cross members is selected such that it can be bridged by a running structure, a conductor rail and a running rail, a combination of at least one switch or crossing module with a running structure or with a conductor rail and a running rail or a combination of only switch or crossing modules.

[0059] This means that the supporting structure formed by the uprights and the crossbeams can be used for complex structures of a rail arrangement.

[0060] It is also advantageous if the vertical uprights are diagonally braced with tension cables. This increases the stability of the rail arrangement. The intersecting tension cables can form a horizontal or vertical plane.

[0061] The modular rail system may in particular comprise one or more of the components described above and listed below: ring-, U- or H-shaped retaining clip,

[0062] busbar,

[0063] track,

[0064] Support rail with dovetail or T-shaped groove, two-part, Y-shaped support element, switch or crossing module, spacer,

[0065] End piece for the running rail,

[0066] connecting flange,

[0067] Traverse,

[0068] Support claw.

[0069] This means that only a few different components are required to construct a rail arrangement.

[0070] It is particularly advantageous for overhead conveyor systems if the clearance between the conductor rail and the running rail is greater than the maximum longitudinal extension of the transport beam, measured in the longitudinal direction of the support rail. This makes it possible to pull the transport beam laterally out of the rail arrangement after rotating it 90° from its operating position around its wheel axis.

[0071] In summary, running structures can be coupled to each other, switch or crossing modules can be coupled to each other, and running structures and switch or crossing modules can be coupled to each other. In this context, the term "coupling" specifically refers to the arrangement of the aforementioned components next to each other so that the transport carriers can travel over them. A direct connection between the components is possible but not necessary. It is generally sufficient for the components to be mounted flush with each other on the support rail.

[0072] For a better understanding of the invention, it is explained in more detail using the following figures.

[0087] By way of introduction, it should be noted that in the variously described embodiments, identical parts are provided with identical reference symbols or component designations. The disclosure contained in the entire description can be applied analogously to identical parts with identical reference symbols or component designations. Furthermore, the positional information chosen in the description, such as top, bottom, side, etc., refers to the directly described and illustrated figure and, in the event of a change in position, is to be applied analogously to the new position.

[0088] Figures 1 and 2 each show at least parts of an exemplary overhead conveyor device 1 in an oblique view. Figure 1 shows the overhead conveyor device 1 at a glance, while Figure 2 shows a detailed view.

[0089] The overhead conveyor device 1 preferably comprises a plurality of vertical uprights 2 and crossbeams 3 extending horizontally therebetween, which are connected to the uprights 2. Support rails 4 of a rail arrangement 5 (shown in detail in Figs. 3 and 4) preferably rest on the crossbeams 3 and run at right angles to them. In addition to the rail arrangement 5, the overhead conveyor device 1 comprises self-propelled transport carriers 6, which transport hanging goods 7. Furthermore, the overhead conveyor device 1 or the rail arrangement 5 comprises a plurality of optional crossing modules 8, in which the transport carriers 6 can select one of several lanes.

[0090] Preferably, the vertical uprights 2 are diagonally braced with optional tensioning cables 9a, 9b in order to increase the stability of the overhead conveyor device 1. The intersecting tensioning cables 9a, 9b can form horizontal planes, but it is also conceivable for two intersecting tensioning cables 9a, 9b to form a vertical plane. This is shown as an example in Fig. 1. Fig. 3 shows a section of the overhead conveyor device 1 of Figs. 1 and 2 with a reduced number of parts in order to improve clarity. Fig. 4 shows an even further enlarged section of Fig. 3. Specifically, Fig. 3 shows two vertical uprights 2, 2' with a crossbeam 3 running horizontally between them and a support rail 4 resting on the crossbeam 3. In fact, the support rail 4 also rests on a second crossbeam 3, which is not shown in Fig. 3, however.

[0091] Preferably, the cross member 3 is attached to the uprights 2, 2' by means of support claws 10, 10'. This is shown by way of example in Fig. 3. Preferably, the support claws 10, 10' engage in recesses C of the vertical uprights 2, 2'. The recesses C are preferably designed as elongated slots, each of which runs obliquely from above toward the center of the respective upright 2, 2'. As a result, the cross member 3 is drawn toward the uprights 2, 2' by the weight acting on it, which can ensure or improve the stability of the arrangement.

[0092] The rail arrangement 5 preferably comprises the support rail 4, a support element 11 and a (first) travel structure 12. This is shown by way of example in Figs. 3 and 4.

[0093] The support rail 4 preferably has a groove A on the underside, extending in the longitudinal direction of the support rail 4, into which the support element 11 is suspended. The underside of the support rail 4 is preferably the side of the support rail 4 which, in an assembled state of the support rail 4, faces a substrate.

[0094] The travel structure 12 is preferably attached indirectly to the support rail 4 via the support element 11 and forms a power supply 13 and a travel surface B for the self-propelled transport carriers 6. However, the travel structure 12 could also be attached directly (i.e. without the support element 11) to the support rail 4.

[0095] Preferably, the rail arrangement 5 comprises an H-shaped retaining clip 14 seen in the longitudinal direction of the support rail 4.

[0096] Preferably, the H-shaped retaining clip 14 can be fastened to the support rail 4 by means of the support element 11. This is shown as an example in Fig. 4, wherein for the sake of clarity the support element 11 is shown in Fig. 4 outside the support rail 4. In reality, the support element 11 is preferably located on

[0097] Height of the retaining clip 14.

[0098] The rail arrangement 5 preferably comprises a busbar 15 which is mounted on the inside in the holding clamp 14 and aligned in the longitudinal direction of the support rail 4 and which is encompassed by or forms the power supply 13 for the self-propelled transport carriers 6.

[0099] Preferably, the rail arrangement 5 comprises two travel rails 16a, 16b which are mounted at a distance below the conductor rail 15 on the inside in the holding clamp 14 and are aligned in the longitudinal direction of the support rail 4 and which form or comprise the travel surface B for the self-propelled transport carriers 6.

[0100] The two guide rails 16a, 16b are preferably arranged in pairs and form a guide rail arrangement 17. This is shown by way of example in Figs. 4 and 14. The transport carrier 6 protrudes through the slot provided in the center. In this example, an optional retaining clamp arrangement 18 is provided in the area of the cross member 3, which will be explained in more detail later.

[0101] The retaining clip 14 preferably has an H-shaped basic structure. However, it would also be conceivable for the retaining clip 14 to be ring-shaped or U-shaped when viewed in the longitudinal direction of the support rail 4. An H-shaped retaining clip 14 is shown as an example in Fig. 4. A U-shaped retaining clip 14 is shown as an example in Fig. 14.

[0102] Preferably, the retaining clip 14 is made of plastic.

[0103] The groove A running in the support rail 4 can, for example, be dovetail-shaped or T-shaped. It is advantageous if the groove A is dovetail-shaped and the support element 11 is Y-shaped and mounted or suspended in the groove A, as is the case in the example shown in Figs. 3 and 4.

[0104] The support element 11 can preferably be formed in two parts and comprise two support plates 19a, 19b bent at an obtuse angle, which support plates 19a, 19b are folded together at one of their legs to form the Y-shaped support element 11. This is shown by way of example in Fig. 4. The folded legs are preferably aligned vertically in the assembled state, and the inclined legs come to rest in inclined support surfaces D of the dovetail-shaped groove A of the support rail 4. The groove A preferably has a projection G on the outer ends of the inclined support surfaces D, which interact with the support plates 19a, 19b and prevent the support plates 19a, 19b from tilting. This ensures that a single support plate 19a, 19b does not fall out of the groove A, even if only one of the support plates 19a, 19b is inserted into the groove A. This significantly simplifies the assembly of the support plates 19a, 19b.

[0105] The support plates 19a, 19b preferably each have a recess E on their folded legs, which are arranged in alignment with one another. The travel structure 12 or the retaining clamp 14 are preferably connected to the support element 11 by means of a bolt or screw 20, which is guided through the bore F in the retaining clamp 14 and the recesses E. This is shown by way of example in Fig. 4.

[0106] The conductor rail 15 and / or the guide rails 16a, 16b are preferably mounted in the retaining clip 14 without screws. This is shown by way of example in Fig. 4 and Fig. 14. This allows the assembly of the rail arrangement 5 to be carried out particularly efficiently.

[0107] The connection between the support element 11 and the driving structure 12 or the retaining clamp 14 is made "indirectly" in the example shown in Fig. 4. However, the connection could also be made "directly" (i.e., without the use of an additional element such as a bolt or screw 20).

[0108] The support rail 4, the conductor rail 15, and the running rails 16a, 16b are preferably designed as hollow profiles. This makes the rail assembly 5 comparatively lightweight, which also eliminates the need for excessively strong vertical supports 2, 2' and cross members 3.

[0109] The self-propelled transport carriers 6 are preferably electrically driven and, in particular, have current collectors with which electrical energy can be drawn from the power supply 13 of the travel structure 12. The current collectors can preferably slide over the conductor rail 15, which conductor rail 15 can have several mutually insulated sliding surfaces that have different electrical voltage potentials during operation of the rail arrangement 5. The conductor rail 15 is shown by way of example in Figs. 4 and 14. The drawn electrical energy is preferably fed via control electronics to an electric motor (neither shown in the figures), with which the wheels of a transport carrier 6 can be driven. The wheels, which in this example are arranged uniaxially, roll on the running surface B or on the running rails 17a, 17b.A support structure of the self-propelled transport carrier 6 extends between the travel rails 17a, 17b, to which the suspension pocket 7 or another suspension carrier can be mounted. The disclosed rail arrangement 5 is not limited to the specifically illustrated transport carriers 6; rather, transport carriers 6 of other designs can also be used thereon, for example, transport carriers 6 with more than one wheel axle.

[0110] It is particularly advantageous if a clear height h between the conductor rail 15 and the running rails 16a, 16b is greater than a maximum longitudinal extension 1 of the transport carrier 6, measured in the longitudinal direction of the support rail 4. This makes it possible to pull the transport carrier 6 laterally out of the rail arrangement 5 after a rotation (from the operating position shown in the figure) of 90° about its wheel axis. Preferably, a diameter of the wheels corresponds substantially to the longitudinal extension 1 of the transport carrier 6.

[0111] Fig. 5 shows a further section of the overhead conveyor device 1 of Figs. 1 and 2 with a reduced number of parts, and Fig. 6 shows an even further enlarged section of Fig. 5 from a slightly different perspective. Specifically, in Figs. 5 and 6, two travel structures 12a, 12b are mounted on the crossbeam 3, which run parallel to one another with a transverse distance q. In addition, the arrangement shown in Figs. 5 and 6 comprises four switch or crossing modules 8a..8d, with a first switch or crossing module 8a being coupled to the first travel structure 12a and a second switch or crossing module 8b being coupled to the second travel structure 12b. The coupling is effected via the retaining clip assemblies 18a, 18b. In the area of the traverse 3, two further retaining clamp arrangements 18c, 18d are provided for coupling the switch or crossing modules 8c, 8d.

[0112] Fig. 7 shows a preferred embodiment of a retaining clip assembly 18 in an enlarged view, viewed obliquely from the side. Fig. 8 shows an exploded view of a preferred embodiment of the retaining clip assembly 18. Furthermore, Figs. 9 and 10 show a switch or crossing module 8 in an isolated view, Fig. 9 from an oblique view above, and Fig. 10 from an oblique view below. The switch or crossing modules 8, 8a..8d preferably each comprise a connecting flange 21, 21a, 21b, a travel platform 25, a power supply platform 28, and a spacer 29.

[0113] The driving platform 25 is preferably arranged at a distance below the power supply platform 28 and is connected to it via the connecting flange 21, 21a, 21b and the spacer 29.

[0114] The travel platform 25 preferably comprises an inner travel platform 26 and an outer travel platform 27, wherein the inner travel platform 26 is preferably connected to the power supply platform 28 via the spacer 29 and the outer travel platform 27 is preferably connected to the power supply platform 28 via the connecting flange 21, 21a, 21b. The travel platform 25 can preferably be coupled to the travel rail 16a, 16b, and the power supply platform 28 can preferably be coupled to the power rail 15, 15a, 15b.

[0115] The switch or crossing modules 8, 8a..8d each preferably have a plurality of travel lanes H1, H2, which run in different directions. The travel lanes H1, H2 can preferably be arranged in the travel platform 25 and the power supply platform 28. This is shown by way of example in Figs. 9 and 10. The power supply platform 28 can, in particular, be formed as a single piece.

[0116] Preferably, the switch or crossing modules 8, 8a..8d have four coupling options and lanes H1, H2 crossing at right angles. This is shown as an example in Figs. 9 and 10. However, this is not the only conceivable option. It is also conceivable that a different number of coupling options are available and that the lanes H1, H2 cross at a different angle. Furthermore, the coupling options can deviate from a rotational angle symmetry and, in particular, can be aligned parallel to one another. In this case, it is particularly possible for a transport carrier 6 to change from the first travel structure 2a directly to the adjacent, parallel, second travel structure 12b.

[0117] The two switch or crossing modules 8a, 8b are preferably coupled not only to the running structures 12a, 12b, but also to each other via the connecting flanges 21a, 21b, which form a flange arrangement 22. This is shown by way of example in Figs. 5 and 6. The two switch or crossing modules 8a, 8b thus preferably form a running track H1, which runs perpendicular to the first and second running structures 12, 12a, 12b. Specifically, the running platform 25 of the second switch or crossing module 8b is connected to the running platform 25 of the first switch or crossing module 8a, and the power supply platform 28 of the second switch or crossing module 8b is connected to the power supply platform 28 of the first switch or crossing module 8a.

[0118] The connecting flanges 21, 21a, 21b can preferably have positively interacting elements that align the connecting flanges 21, 21a, 21b with each other. For example, the positively interacting elements can be designed as a tongue and groove, a bore and pin, an inner cone and an outer cone, or as a plug-in connector and align the connecting flanges 21, 21a, 21b with each other in a horizontal and / or vertical direction. The connecting flanges 21a, 21b of the first and second switch or crossing modules 8a, 8b are preferably free of any attachment to the support rail 4. This means that the connection between the two switch or crossing modules 8a, 8b is preferably self-supporting. However, it would also be conceivable for the connecting flanges 21a, 21b to be connected to the support rail 4, for example, via a support element 11.

[0119] A width extension b of the switch or crossing modules 8, 8a..8d, which is measured at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the support rail 4, preferably corresponds to the transverse distance q between the parallel running structures 12a, 12b and in particular to the transverse distance q between their support rails 4. The transverse distance q is measured from the center of the first to the center of the second support rail 4 or running structure 12a, 12b. Due to the proposed measures, the track H1, which runs at right angles to the first and second running structures 12a, 12b, is formed exclusively by the switch or crossing modules 8a, 8b. In this context, it is also advantageous (but not necessary) if the switch or crossing modules 8, 8a..8d are arranged centrally with respect to the support rail 4 with regard to their width extension b, as is the case by way of example in the illustrated Figs. 5 and 6.

[0120] The switch or crossing modules 8, 8a..8d are advantageously rotationally symmetrical about their respective vertical axes with respect to a rotation angle of 90°, as shown by way of example in Figs. 5 to 11. This allows the switch or crossing modules 8, 8a..8d to be used particularly flexibly. The first switch or crossing module 8a and the second switch or crossing module 8b are preferably identical in design. While this is advantageous because only a comparatively small number of different components are then required to construct a rail arrangement 5, the use of differently constructed switch or crossing modules 8a, 8b would also be conceivable in principle.

[0121] 7 and 8 show the coupling of a switch or crossing module 8 to a running structure 12 with the aid of a preferred embodiment of a holding clamp arrangement 18, which is shown as an exploded view in Fig. 8. In this example, the switch or crossing module 8 comprises a preferred embodiment of a second holding clamp 14b, in which the running platform 25 and the power supply platform 28 are mounted. The second holding clamp 14b is preferably fastened to the support rail 4 with the aid of a support element 11. For example, a second separate support element 11 can be used for this purpose, which can be designed as shown in Fig. 4. It would also be conceivable for the support element 11 to be longer than shown in Fig. 4 and to bridge the distance between the two holding clamps 14a, 14b and to also have a further recess E.The second retaining clip 14b can subsequently be connected to the support element 11 by means of a further bolt or screw 20, which is guided through the additional recesses E. In both cases, the switch or crossing module 8 is indirectly fastened to the support rail 4 via a support element 11. However, it would also be conceivable in principle for the switch or crossing module 8 to be fastened directly (i.e., without the aid of a support element 11) to the support rail 4. Furthermore, the switch or crossing module 8 could also be fastened to the support rail 4 by means of a retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b, which retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b comprises an undercut groove, particularly running in the longitudinal direction of the support rail 4. Such a retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b is shown as an example in Figs. 13 and 14.

[0122] Furthermore, it is conceivable that the first retaining clip 14a and the second retaining clip 14b are connected to one another. In particular, they can be screwed together in the longitudinal direction of the support rail 4. A spacer 23a, 23b and / or an end piece 24 for the running rail 16a, 16b can also be provided between the first retaining clip 14a and the second retaining clip 14b, as shown by way of example in Figs. 7 and 8. The end piece 24 serves in particular to facilitate the threading of a transport carrier 6 into the running rail arrangement 17 when it extends out of the area of the switch or crossing module 8. The end piece 24 has corresponding run-on bevels for this purpose.

[0123] However, connecting switch or crossing modules 8a, 8b using connecting flanges 21a, 21b and using a retaining clamp arrangement 18 are not the only conceivable options. It is also conceivable for a switch or crossing module 8 to have a second retaining clamp 14, which is arranged adjacent to a connecting flange 21a and in which the travel platform 25 and the power supply platform 28 are mounted. This is shown as an example in Figs. 9 and 10.

[0124] A first retaining clamp 14a and a first connecting flange 21a of a first switch or crossing module 8a and a second retaining clamp 14b and a second connecting flange 21b of a second switch or crossing module 8b preferably each form a flange-clamp arrangement 30 and can preferably together form a double-flange-clamp arrangement 31, as shown by way of example in Fig. 11. The double-flange-clamp arrangement 31 is preferably constructed similarly to the retaining clamp arrangement 18, but with the difference that no spacer 23a, 23b and no end piece 24 are arranged between the retaining clamps 14a, 14b, but rather two connecting flanges 21a, 21b.

[0125] The retaining clips 14a, 14b can preferably be attached indirectly to the support rail 4 via a support element 11 or directly (i.e., without the aid of a support element 11) to the support rail 4. Two separate support elements 11 or a common, longer support element 11 can preferably be provided for the two retaining clips 14a, 14b. The first retaining clip 14a and the second retaining clip 14b can preferably also be connected to one another, for example, screwed together in the longitudinal direction of the support rail 4. The statements regarding the retaining clip arrangement 18 apply accordingly.

[0126] The arrangements shown in Figs. 5 to 11 are not limited to two running structures 12a, 12b and two switch or crossing modules 8a, 8b. Rather, it is also possible for the disclosed arrangements to be repeated recursively transversely to the first and second running structures 12a, 12b. In this case, the second running structure 12b replaces the first running structure 12a, and another running structure 12 replaces the second running structure 12b. Furthermore, the second switch or crossing module 8b replaces the first switch or crossing module 8a, and another switch or crossing module 8 replaces the second switch or crossing module 8b. More than two switch or crossing modules 8a, 8b can also be arranged (directly) one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the support rail 4.This creates a matrix-like arrangement of switch or crossing modules 8a, 8b, which can be directly connected to each other (i.e. without any intermediate running structure 12, 12a, 12b).

[0127] In general, the distance between two crossbeams 3 can be bridged by a running structure 12, 12a, a conductor rail 15, 15a, 15b and a running rail 16a, 16b, a combination of at least one switch or crossing module 8, 8a..8d with a running structure 12, 12a or with a conductor rail 15, 15a, 15b and a running rail 16a, 16b or a combination of only switch or crossing modules 8, 8a..8d.

[0128] The rail arrangement 5 or the overhead conveyor device 1 can in particular be constructed with a modular rail system which comprises at least the support rail 4, the support element 11 and the travel structure 12, 12a, 12b. In particular, the modular rail system can have one or more of the following components: ring-, U- or H-shaped retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b, conductor rail 15, 15a, 15b, running rail 16a, 16b, support rail 4 with dovetail-shaped or T-shaped groove A, two-part, Y-shaped support element 11, switch or crossing module 8, 8a..8d, spacer 23a, 23b, end piece 24 for the running rail 16a, 16b, connecting flange 21, 21a, 21b, upright 2, 2', cross member 3, support claw 10, 10'. Fig. 12 shows an exemplary picking system 32 in a schematic and highly simplified representation. The picking system 32 comprises a storage area 33 for storing goods, a picking area 34 for picking goods according to orders, and an overhead conveyor device 1 of the type disclosed above connecting the storage area 33 and the picking area 34. The overhead conveyor device 1 can be used for conveying hanging goods 7, but can also be used for sorting and / or buffering or storing hanging goods 7.

[0129] It is provided that the rail arrangement 5 comprises a first travel structure 12, 12a and a first support rail 4. The first travel structure 12, 12a is attached directly or indirectly to the first support rail 4.

[0130] Preferably, it can be provided that the first travel structure 12, 12a comprises an undercut groove K, running in particular in the longitudinal direction of the first support rail 4, that a fastening means 40 is arranged on the first support rail 4, wherein the fastening means 40 can engage in the groove K of the first travel structure 12, 12a, and that the first travel structure 12, 12a is fastened to the first support rail 4 by means of the fastening means 40. This is shown by way of example in Figs. 13 and 14. Fig. 13 shows a preferred embodiment of the rail arrangement 5 with a preferred embodiment of the holding clip 14, 14a, 14b from obliquely above and Fig. 14 shows the preferred embodiment of the rail arrangement 5 shown in Fig. 13 in an end view.

[0131] Preferably, the fastening means 40, in particular the further fastening means in the second holding clamp 14b for the switch or crossing module 8, 8a...8d, can be a screw, in particular a hammer-head screw. Preferably, the fastening means 40, in particular the further fastening means, can comprise a nut. In particular when designed as a hammer-head screw, the hammer-shaped head end of the hammer-head screw can be introduced into the groove K of the first running structure 12, 12a, 12b and a threaded section of the hammer-head screw can be passed through a hole in the support rail and protrude therefrom, so that the hammer-head screw is held on the support rail 4, preferably by means of the nut. Due to the hammer-shaped head end of the hammer-head screw, the first running structure 12, 12a, 12b with the undercut groove can be coupled or connected to the first support rail 4 particularly easily.be decoupled by simply turning the hammer head screw in such a way that the hammer-shaped head end engages in the groove K. This is shown as an example in Figs. 13 and 14, wherein in Fig. 14 the hammer-shaped head end of the hammer head screw is shown inserted into the groove K. Furthermore, Fig. 14 shows the nut mentioned for fixing.

[0132] Particularly preferably, the fastening means 40 can comprise an adjusting means 41, wherein a predeterminable distance between the first support rail 4 and the first travel structure 12, 12a, in particular the (first) retaining clamp 14, 14a, 14b, can be adjusted by means of the adjusting means 41. The adjusting means 41 is shown by way of example in Fig. 14.

[0133] The adjusting means 41 can preferably be a threaded section of a screw, in particular a hammer head screw. This is shown by way of example in Fig. 14. The predeterminable distance between the (first) support rail 4 and the (first) travel structure 12, 12a, 12b, in particular the (first) retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b, can preferably be adjusted by means of the nut, in particular the position of the nut on the threaded section. In Fig. 14, the (first) support rail 4 is shown by way of example resting against the retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b. The adjusting means 41, designed as a threaded section, can be seen above the nut, wherein the distance between the retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b and the support rail 4 can be adjusted by loosening the screw.

[0134] Preferably, any other adjusting means suitable for adjusting a distance between the (first) support rail and the (first) travel structure can also be used, for example a rack and a gear or a rod-shaped component and a clamping device.

[0135] Preferably, the undercut groove K of the first travel structure 12, 12a, which extends in particular in the longitudinal direction, is formed on the (first) retaining clip 14, 14a. This is shown by way of example in Fig. 14. [0136] Preferably, the longitudinally extending undercut groove K on the retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b can be continuous from a first end face of the retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b to a second end face of the retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b, which is opposite the first end face and spaced from the first end face. The first end face of the retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b is shown by way of example in Figure 14. The retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b is preferably a device for fastening the power supply 13, in particular the conductor rail 15, 15a, 15b, and / or for fastening the running rail 16a, 16b, in particular the running surface B, and / or for fastening the (first) switch or crossing module 8, 8a...8d to the (first) support rail 4.

[0137] Preferably, the conductor rail 15, 15a, 15b and / or the travel rail 16a, 16b can be mounted screwlessly in the first retaining clip 14, 14a. The screwless mounting can preferably be supported by clamping the conductor rail 15, 15a, 15b and / or the travel rail 16a, 16b in the retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b. This is shown by way of example in Figs. 4 and 14.

[0138] The retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b is preferably suitable for the simple fastening of the (first) switch or crossing module 8, 8a...8d to the (first) support rail 4. The retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b can be designed in the same way as the retaining clip 14, 14a, 14b for fastening the (first) running structure 12, 12a to the (first) support rail 4 and can also comprise the same fastening means, which can also be referred to as further fastening means.

[0139] Preferably, the (first) travel structure 12, 12a can comprise an undercut groove K. Preferably, a fastening means 40 can be arranged on the (first) support rail 4. Preferably, the fastening means 40 can engage in the groove K of the (first) travel structure 12, 12a.
