Safety device for a watch control mechanism

Abstract

The present invention relates to a safety device for a watch control mechanism (1), preferably for a winding and / or time-setting crown. This device comprises a safety element (2) movably mounted on a supporting structure (3) fixed to the watch case (4) or mounted directly on said watch case (4), said safety element (2) being actuable to occupy two positions. In an open position, the control mechanism (1) is released. In a closed position, a locking portion (2.2) of the safety element (2) exerts a closing force on said control mechanism (1) adapted to lock the control mechanism (1). The latter is axially movable through a tube (5) in the watch case (4).The device includes, in particular, means (6) for adjusting the effective free axial distance available for the axial movement of the control mechanism (1) between the outer end (5.2) of the tube (5) fixed in the watch case (4) and the locking portion (2.2) of the safety element (2) in its open position, so as to allow adjustment of the closing force of the safety element (2). According to the invention, said adjustment means (6) cooperate either with the tube (5) or with the control mechanism (1), and a sealing gasket (9) is arranged between the adjustment means (6) and the gap between the tube (5) or the control mechanism (1) with which they cooperate.
