Elastomeric non-isocyanate polyurethanes

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a process for the production of an elastomeric polyurethane. The process comprises the following steps: a) reacting a saccharide comprising at least two -OH groups with a carbonating agent to provide a carbonate intermediate; and b) reacting the carbonate intermediate with a diamine comprising at least two amino groups, independently selected from primary or secondary amine, to provide the elastomeric polyurethane. Elastomeric polyurethanes produced according to this process are further disclosed.
