Abstract

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing an encoded seam (2) of a manufactured article (1), the encoding of the encoded seam (2) comprising at least a first coding value defined by a first value level of at least one seam parameter, and at least a second coding value defined by a second value level of said seam parameter, said manufacturing method having a predetermined variability σ p, the manufacturing method comprising the steps of: – producing at least a first portion of the seam (21) having the first value level of said seam parameter, – producing at least a second portion of the seam (22) having the second value level of said seam parameter, in which the first value level and the second value level of said seam parameter are chosen according to the predetermined variability σ p of the manufacturing method.The invention also relates to an encoded seam and a method for authenticating an encoded seam.
