Abstract
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing prefabricated tarpaulins for sealing roof surfaces. Two EPDM sheets (4, 5) are laid out in a floor area such that they overlap along their lateral edges. The sheets (4, 5) are welded together using a welding device (50) mounted on a carriage (10) which is moved along a rail embedded in the floor area in a working direction (7). At least one roller (21) is arranged on the entry side of the carriage (10) to support the underside of the first sheet (4), the axis of rotation of this roller (21) having an angle of up to 30° with respect to the main plane of the floor area and an angle of 75-105° with respect to the working direction (7).The rail-guided movement of the carriage (10) ensures a uniform, reproducible weld quality along the entire seam length, regardless of weather conditions or operator. The targeted support and lifting of the first sheet (4) at the entry side prevents creases in the sheet that could lead to defects in the weld. This process enables the industrial prefabrication of large-area roof waterproofing membranes using standard welding equipment (50) and significantly reduces installation time.
