Abstract

The invention relates to a method for matching a balance wheel or balance band and a balance spring, and comprises the following steps: a. measuring and recording the moment of inertia of a balance wheel, mounted with a balance staff and a balance plate, or of a balance band, mounted with a balance staff, or of a balance band alone, and the stiffness of a balance spring; b. storing the measured balance wheel or the measured balance band and the measured balance spring, each respectively, in a dedicated storage area with measured balance wheels or measured balance bands and measured balance springs; c. repeating steps a. and b., so as to create stocks of measured balance wheels or measured balance bands and measured balance springs, distributed by storage areas; d.to associate each measured and stored balance wheel or measured and stored balance band, and each measured and stored balance spring, by means of an algorithm, so that a pairing of each balance wheel or balance band and each balance spring gives a balance-balance spring having a minimal frequency deviation, usually less than ±2 minutes / day compared to a target frequency, the process further comprising, after or before the measurement step, a step consisting of marking each balance band or balance wheel and / or each balance spring.
