Abstract
A stent insert for retention in the mammary gland of a farm animal. The stent insert has a shape-memory body that expands and collapses. The stent body contains a first material that is at least partially elastic. The stent insert also has one or more nodes attached to the stent body. These nodes contain a second bioactive material that is released into the mammary gland to prevent mastitis.
