Abstract

A method is provided for managing a zone in a mining environment. A set of objects operates in the mining environment. The method comprises obtaining (201) from a set of sensors in the mining environment sensor data indicative of one or more measured objects in the set of objects. The method comprises, based on the sensor data, tracking (202) the set of objects. Tracking the set of objects comprises at least estimating the locations of the set of objects in the mining environment. The method comprises, based on the tracked set of objects and their respective locations, estimating (206) a probability that at least one object in the set of objects is within the zone and / or entering the zone. The method comprises, when the estimated probability exceeds a threshold, triggering (207) a preventative action to secure the zone.
