Abstract

A work tool assembly (22) includes a work tool flange (26) and a plurality of tip adapters (50) attached to the work tool flange, each including an upper adapter leg (58), a lower adapter leg (60), and a mounting groove (56) receiving a front flange edge (34). Each upper adapter leg and lower adapter leg includes a first restraint projection (80) and a second restraint projection (82). The work tool assembly also includes anti-flex stabilizers (88) welded to the work tool flange, each including a retaining head (98) in contact with either the first or second restraint projection.The anti-flex stabilizers limit the flexing of the tip adapters by means of the reaction of the flexing loads on the tips (28) of the teeth of the working tool lip.
