Abstract
A lifting system is provided for an industrial machine, including a supported digging attachment for movement in order to excavate material. The lifting system includes a cable clamping device configured to be coupled to the digging attachment; a synthetic cable configured to extend between a lifting drum and the cable clamping device, at least a portion of the synthetic cable configured to be selectively wound onto the lifting drum; and a cable protector extending along an outer surface of the synthetic cable.
