Abstract

The invention relates to a cord, in particular a fishing net cord, comprising a braided covering layer surrounding a core, wherein the covering layer comprises strands comprising a high-temperature softening cover material; wherein the core comprises an inner core and an outer core surrounding the inner core; wherein the inner core comprises a low-temperature softening inner material and a high-temperature softening core material; wherein the outer core comprises a low-temperature softening outer material;and wherein the high-temperature softening cover material and the high-temperature softening core material each independently have a higher softening temperature compared to the softening temperature of the low-temperature softening inner and outer materials as determined in accordance with ASTM D1525. In another aspect, the invention relates to a process for preparing said twine and fishing nets comprising said twine.
