Abstract

A lithium-rich ferrite material coated with a composite material, a method for preparing the material, and its use are provided. The lithium-rich ferrite material coated with a composite material includes a core and a composite coating layer applied to the core surface. The core comprises lithium-rich ferrite. The composite coating layer comprises alternating layers of hydrophobic polymer and metal oxide. The coating layer closest to the core is either a hydrophobic polymer layer or a metal oxide layer. The coating layer farthest from the core is either a hydrophobic polymer layer or a metal oxide layer. The number of hydrophobic polymer layers is greater than or equal to two, and the number of metal oxide layers is greater than or equal to two.In the lithium-rich ferrite material coated with a composite material of the present application, the hydrophobic polymer layer and the metal oxide layer are applied alternately, which not only improves the conductivity and stability of the lithium-rich ferrite material, but also gives it hydrophobicity to prevent gelation during suspension mixing, thereby effectively improving the cycle stability and speed capacity of lithium-ion batteries.
