Abstract

The invention addresses structural failures and premature corrosion in the fuel tanks of heavy-duty mining trucks. The main problem lay in an original design with short support handles that caused mechanical fatigue, bulkheads prone to cracking due to fuel movement, and liners that accumulated corrosive sludge. To solve this, three key improvements are proposed: reinforced support handles with Gousset plates and a longer insertion length to better distribute vibrations; modular inner bulkheads made of folded pieces that provide greater rigidity and optimize flow; and hot-vulcanized outer liners that eliminate spaces where contaminants can accumulate. These modifications optimize structural durability, extending the service life between failures from 12 to 42 months and significantly reducing maintenance costs.
